Chau's Fresh Fruit is located in the heart of Chinatown on Hotel Street. You can't miss this place as it is popular for their fresh fruit smoothies. You'll see a small crowd gathered around the stall in no orderly fashion. You can also get your exotic fruit fix, depending on the season; currently dragon eyes and mango to name a couple. When I'm not getting my coffee, this is where I come to get fresh smoothies. On this visit, I got the mango smoothie with boba. It was very good, but tasted a little water down probably from the many scoops of ice. Service is typical of the area.

Very lovely family run fruit stand (they also speak Vietnamese)! The fruits truly are so fresh, juicy, delicious, and very reasonably priced! I appreciated how my dad and I were able to pick out the fruits we wanted and they cut the fruits for us too. They were also so quick with making us smoothies that tasted fantastic!

TBH, I am not even sure if this is where I got my rambutans, lychees, longans and mangosteens but it was amongst a row of fruit vendors/shops. Anyhow, I love fresh sugarcane juice and smoothies so I'll have to visit this shop again.

This stall is always so busy but I happened to go recently when there was no line. I got the pineapple smoothie with boba. I thought the price ($7 as of January 2025) was reasonable for the amount you get which is a lot. The pineapple flavor was on the light side but still enjoyable. It could also be due to it being winter so the fruit is not in season. For the same price as what other places charge for artificially flavored teas, I think it is a good deal to get real fruit in the smoothie.

FRESHLY MADE SMOOTHIES!! soso refreshing in the heat of hawaii. they use the fresh, local fruit they sell so we got soursop and pineapple. they blended it in front of us and we finished our smoothies in 10 minutes. we also bought some fruit to eat as well and thoroughly enjoyed the exotic fruits we tried

Fresh fruit smoothie in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii... We've walked past this vendor so many times because it's at a busy entrance to Maunakea Marketplace on Hotel Street. Chau's Fresh Fruit isn't the most glamorous, friendly, nor Instagramable vendor. They're just doing their job at an open-air stall. At least there's a roof! My first attempt at getting a durian smoothie left me frazzled because I didn't tell the worker at the start that I don't want dairy in my smoothie. I paid the $8 cash and gave it to my friend. The worker didn't offer to remake it and she didn't offer to make a new smoothie. I also got a pound of boiled peanuts - they weren't as salty as the ones at Foodland. They weren't wet nor mushy, but needed some flavor. Boiled peanuts were just okay. A couple of weeks later, I returned and knew to ask upfront for a smoothie without milk. The worker repeated my request and said she will just use water and sugar. Correct. It wasn't as creamy as other places that use a milk alternative, but it wasn't bad. Maybe there are less calories and more fruit! Haha! I wouldn't mind returning and getting another durian smoothie... And maybe even a soursop smoothie!

I'd be here on weekdays if I didn't have to be at work. I literally come here every weekend with my girlfriend and have tried the Sugarcane, Lychee, Watermelon, Mango, and Coconut. Hits every damn time. And they've got the sweetest hard working people running it 100000/10

Can't go to Hawaii without indulging in fresh tropical fruit. Got jackfruit, mangosteen, papaya and pomelo. They also do cane juice and tropical fruit juice but we wanted to try something else. Cards accepted.

Be CAUTIOUS !!!! with this business. They list small mangoes at $9 per pound. When I tried to buy three, they charged me $17. I asked them to reweigh the mangoes because the price seemed high--all three weighed exactly 1 pound, which should have been $9, not $17. I repeatedly asked for a refund, but they pretended not to understand English. Only when I began taking pictures did the silent owner step in and finally give me a cash refund.

    lychee smoothie

Fresh fruit and they use real fruit for their smoothies (boba is free to add on too). Super consistent and the people who run it are very sweet. I come here every weekend lol.

Upon approach to our fave Chinese roasters, I noticed ABC Market with its fresh locally (some imported) grown fruits and vegetables displays. ABC Market has been in O'ahu Market's stall #25 for some time now but it took me until today to stop, browse and make a purchase. As I browsed through the fruits and produce, I managed to purchase a couple of Hawaiian papayas, green onions and bitter melon. The papayas are still green but I don't usually buy ripe papayas because they ripen quite quickly so these will ripen over the next couple of days. But, the green onions aka scallions and bitter melon were fresh looking and priced competitively with the other nearby fruit and vegetable vendors. The cashier was soft spoken as she weighed our papayas and then the bitter melon before telling us how much to pay. Our total bill only came up $6.25. I don't think that this vendor takes credit or debit cards as most vendors in Chinatown are CASH ONLY. She packed our papayas, scallions and bitter melons in separate plastic bags which made it easier for us to put into our Yelp reusable tote bag. We'll be back either in a couple of days as I was eyeing the soursop and egg fruits but didn't get them today since we walked into town and didn't want to lug home too heavy bags.

And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab. I thought back then was to look at everything but now I understand that it meant something more..... something special--time with my dad. It's with a sad heart that Tamishiro Market is now closed. Thank you, Tamashiro, for providing quality food and memories for so many years. You were more than a market--you were part of my childhood

Solid meaning and the word "fruit" is incorporated too! This is one of my main stalls I visit whenever I go to Chinatown. It's located inside and outside of Kekaulike Market. It's the stall on the left of the King St side entrance. I always get my scallions and A-Choy (Taiwanese Lettuce) here. They're always fresh and great quality. The lettuce sells very well in Chinatown and if you get there late (or to any other store) you'll often find them all gone or just the semi-wilted/spent too much time outside ones. If you go in the morning or happen to know when they get their produce deliveries, you can choose straight from the box instead of the bagged ones. I always prefer buying scallions by the pound instead of the $1 bunches because you can choose, and I believe it's a better deal. They have a nice array of vegetables and fruits, and the prices are the same as other stores and stalls. The ladies working here are very nice and helpful. Always great service. Overall, the quality and availability of their produce and frozen poultry really stands out here compared to other stores. It's one of the main stores I come to whenever I'm in Chinatown.
