We've - Arancini - light and fluffy - Rigatoni e Salsi - Diavola pizza - Octopus - Nero D'Avola $15 - Birra Moretti - Maggiolo Lamole They're all delicious, although the pizza and octopus are a bit salty. The pasta is al dente, and I swiped clean the sauce with the pizza bread - can't take me anywhere. They use Chef Sommerlier stem, and Maham Studio stoneware plates. Our server looks like the boyfriend Scotty Landry played by Rudt Pankow in the Minders of Him (2026). A kid comes in, goes from table to table, selling Boy Scout koozies  (?). They're a gang of three: are they staying in the hotel with their parents, or are they local? How did they get there if they're local? read more

I was there for lunch, I'd missed the breakfast hour. I was going to get the soup as a meal but was suggested to try the 1/2 and 1/2. I did and selected the chicken soup & 1/2 chicken panini. The soup was good, the panini was mediocre. I asked for it sans tomato (nightshade allergy) and it got it without the SIGNATURE pesto--how sucky is that? There was one older plucky gentleman working the floor. He was attentive 'enough' though I don't like sharing across the distance of two tables how I'm doing.' He secured my pesto--pronto. My wife and I went for first night out post baby and wanted to try something new before going to the Straz. Yikes. The ambiance is nice, but the food was a disappointment. I have to say, the best part of the meal was the complimentary veggie crostinis from the kitchen. My wife got the chicken parm and added spaghetti. The chicken was good, but the spaghetti sauce tasted like Prego. I got the Sunday Gravy and it was almost inedible. There was an overwhelming taste of clove which really threw me off and I couldn't taste anything else. The service was fine. We almost went to Devito's across the street. It's a "new restaurant" with outdated vibes. Brought my Mom here for a belated Mother's Day and was disappointed in the service. Work across at the PNC and was hopeful for a regular spot. The bite check back WITH food in my mouth, could've waited, I'd only tried the salad and my water ran dry, twice with no refill on the last. The salad was great, but the Kale Cannelini noodles were tough as boots and the soup needed flavor. It was hot kale water with beans. There's also a decent amount of dust dangling above all the lamp fixtures as well. Being a Gold HH member, this was very disappointing, other properties and restaurants aren't this unkempt. Surprise! This place is great! Downtown is so strange, there are not nearly as many dining options as you'd think for a city that is supposedly on the rise. We were looking for a pre-Straz option and found Che Vita. The reviews were good and it was a 10-15 minute walk, so we booked it. Che Vita is located in the lobby of the Hilton Downtown. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable, and told us the pasta and breads are all made in house. We ordered the arancini app and the fried artichoke and zucchini appetizer to start. Both were excellent. For mains we got a variety, my husband loved his crab pasta, my cacio e pepe was delicious. But my favorite dish was my friend's Sunday Gravy entree. When I return I will be getting that. We didn't have dessert but I am sure that is good as well. read more

Excellent experience (at a hotel restaurant)! I usually avoid hotel restaurants. They are frequently overpriced, taking advantage of their guests' presence and bias to stay close while traveling and tired. However, my husband wanted Italian food, and Che Vita was new and had good reviews, so I thought we could try it. The setting was very comfortable. Service was excellent. Our server was very polite, went over and beyond, and made for a flawless experience. He told me that the restaurant imports its flour for its homemade pasta, pizza and bread. We started with cocktails while we waited for our wine to air out. (We brought our own bottle, corkage is $25. They have ordered decanters now, but they can rig up a water pitcher as a decanter in a pinch.) The chef sent over an amuse bouche that was tasty. We started with the calamari and a pizza margarita. Both were excellent. The calamari was perfectly fried and felt as light as air. The pizza was perfect. The crust was the right kind of chewy, the sauce, cheese and basil were so fresh and delicious. My husband had the shrimp scampi pizza. He enjoyed it and didn't share. Boo. I had the NY strip, and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mashed potatoes and carrots were wonderful. We didn't get dessert, although it looked very good. I'd happily return. read more

My favorite was the appetizers and pizza. I loved dining in the wine room, great for private dinners. Customer service is wonderful and friendly! There is valet parking available. I recently visited Che Vita for lunch with a co-worker and tried the Grilled Chicken Pesto Panini. The sandwich was ok. The chicken was tender but lacked much flavor and didn't have much meat. There were some bites that had no chicken. The bread was nicely soft and the arugula was crisp. The fries were also nicely crisp. read more

It's kept very clean and has a good mix of options for both drinks and food. Pricing is decent for a location inside of a downtown Tampa hotel and is on par with local area offerings. This is a Italian restaurant from Italy! such high quality food. Hilton may put more of them in other hotels. Highly recommended. This is not a hotel restaurant. If you are in downtown Tampa seek this out. It will save you a trip flying to Italy! seafood, pizza, salad all were amazing. If you like wine they have a good list. The bread is homemade on-site. Chauncey was my waiter. Four times asked me my room number. Four times I responded. Gave me the bill before I took my first bite. That immediately cuts the tip in half. Food was ok. I don't know where to start! The service, the food, the staff.....1000/10! We started with water, a glass of wine, and a vodka cran (or 3). This was followed by calamari, polpette(meatballs), a fratelli pizza and agnolotti blue crab(crab ravioli). We finished with a connolo, two scoops of lemon sorbet and one scoop of pistachio sorbet....any maybe one more vodka cran lol If you're ever in Tampa, you won't be disappointed! read more

This place is awful. The chicken parm was burnt to shit and the tomato sauce tasted like watered down Heinz ketchup. Burrata on top was ice cold? Tried this place a few weeks ago and was told there was a five minute wait for a table. After 15 minutes we left. Came back again today for a second try. Service was extremely slow and had to ask for more tea and for the check. Food was OK, nothing spectacular. I won't be back. read more
