Complimentary appetizer I had. Some kind of rice ball.

Located inside the Hilton. Low noise. So it wasn't dead silent, but it was not loud. The dining room is medium sized. The waitress was attentive. The shrimp scampi was a very tasty choice. They have a good menu selection. I hear their pizza is very good. They make their own pizza dough and pasta. I would come back again.

It's a "new restaurant" with outdated vibes. Brought my Mom here for a belated Mother's Day and was disappointed in the service. Work across at the PNC and was hopeful for a regular spot. The bite check back WITH food in my mouth, could've waited, I'd only tried the salad and my water ran dry, twice with no refill on the last. The salad was great, but the Kale Cannelini noodles were tough as boots and the soup needed flavor. It was hot kale water with beans. There's also a decent amount of dust dangling above all the lamp fixtures as well. Being a Gold HH member, this was very disappointing, other properties and restaurants aren't this unkempt. Tampa isn't this.

It was good. Loved the tomato soup and the panini. Great deal for lunch duo. You can pick two items from this menu to have for lunch. Salad, soup, and/or half a panini. I got the panini with prosciutto on it. It was ok. Pretty big portions for a half & half

Excellent experience (at a hotel restaurant)! I usually avoid hotel restaurants. They are frequently overpriced, taking advantage of their guests' presence and bias to stay close while traveling and tired. However, my husband wanted Italian food, and Che Vita was new and had good reviews, so I thought we could try it. The setting was very comfortable. Service was excellent. Our server was very polite, went over and beyond, and made for a flawless experience. He told me that the restaurant imports its flour for its homemade pasta, pizza and bread. We started with cocktails while we waited for our wine to air out. (We brought our own bottle, corkage is $25. They have ordered decanters now, but they can rig up a water pitcher as a decanter in a pinch.) The chef sent over an amuse bouche that was tasty. We started with the calamari and a pizza margarita. Both were excellent. The calamari was perfectly fried and felt as light as air. The pizza was perfect. The crust was the right kind of chewy, the sauce, cheese and basil were so fresh and delicious. My husband had the shrimp scampi pizza. He enjoyed it and didn't share. Boo. I had the NY strip, and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mashed potatoes and carrots were wonderful. We didn't get dessert, although it looked very good. I'd happily return.

I had a great experience at Che Vita! The newest Italian concept from Chef James King, located in Downtown Tampa. The food is flavorful, and beautifully plated. My favorite was the appetizers and pizza. I loved dining in the wine room, great for private dinners. Customer service is wonderful and friendly! There is valet parking available. I'd recommend making a reservation in advance.

Solid bar and restaurant located inside of the hotel. The bar is just outside of the main restaurant area and offers a variety of seating - bar, high top, tables, lounge style chairs. It's kept very clean and has a good mix of options for both drinks and food. Pricing is decent for a location inside of a downtown Tampa hotel and is on par with local area offerings. The bartender was quick to get drinks out. Overall: Solid location is hotel for drinks and / or food!

I recently visited Che Vita for lunch with a co-worker and tried the Grilled Chicken Pesto Panini. The sandwich was ok. The chicken was tender but lacked much flavor and didn't have much meat. There were some bites that had no chicken. The bread was nicely soft and the arugula was crisp. The fries were also nicely crisp.

Paid for the breakfast buffet and I'd say it's too expensive for what it is. Food was good, but I spent over $50 just me. My server never came around to offer me a water refill either. The restaurant is inside a Hilton.

Excellent! We went for a late night dinner and had the house made spaghetti and meatballs. YUM. Also the Fresci Pizza which was like a meat lovers (sausage, pepperoni, capicola) and a local honey drizzled on top. A great place to have for our stay at the Hilton downtown

We had an amazing experience while staying at the Hilton in downtown Tampa. Che Vita is their restaurant where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Excellent meals and excellent service! We loved Chauncey!

It was fine, but no substitute -- the honey made it a little too sweet for my taste. Still a solid pizza, just not the same. For apps we went with fried green tomatoes, truffle fries, and crispy fried wings -- a great spread to share. The tomatoes were excellent, still a little firm and not soggy, with just the right amount of crisp on the coating. The wings had a nice hot-and-sweet buffalo glaze, and the truffle fries were so good we ended up ordering a second round. The kids went with sandwiches. The Triple Smashburger was massive, towering height, though I'll note the patties were thicker than a traditional smash burger. The crispy chicken sandwich was excellent -- moist and crispy in every bite, and we upgraded to hot honey on the waiter's recommendation, which was a great call. Still one of my favorite spots in St. Pete, but Noble Crust, please bring back the Noble Pig.

The trattoria is mainly indoor dining & a small bar & next door is their "Veranda" restaurant w/limited indoor tables & mostly outdoor tables w/live music. The Veranda section doesn't take reservations & looks lovely. Our reservation was at the Trattoria. We enjoyed drinks first - I really liked the blueberry martini w/out sugar. My husband had wine & my friend loved the strawberry martini. We ordered the full loaf of bread & it was great with the fabulous dipping oil. For dinners we had: linguini w/clams, lasagna, chicken marsala, & bolognese. We all loved our dinners & all brought food home. We ended with a tiramasu. It was our first time dining there, but it definitely will not be the last! Few things to note before you go. Definitely make a reservation! It's not a large space, but it is a popular one, so you want to plan ahead. Also, parking is a bit limited, so using a ride share wouldn't hurt. Lastly, come hungry! The portions are generous, and if you're going as a date night destination, the options on the "Secret Menu" for dinners for 2 include wedge salads, sides for the steaks, and dessert. All that said, we knew the minute we walked in that we were in for a good time. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, and distinctively Chicago, with dark wood everywhere, red accents, and vintage photos and prints all over the walls. It's a feast for the eyes to go along with the feast for your stomach! Though we arrived a little early, we were seated right away. They knew we were celebrating an anniversary, so they spread rose petals on our table! Our server, Angelo, was exemplary--professional, attentive, and full of great recommendations, the most important of which was recommending that we order the Chateaubriand off the Secret Menu. Everything it came with -- the wedge salads with homemade dressing, the sides, the red wine reduction to drizzle on the steak, and the mini cannolis at the end -- were delicious. Aside from cocktails, we didn't need to order anything else! Speaking of cocktails, Beau's Old Fashioned is one you can't not order if you love bourbon and bourbon drinks. However, I was even more impressed with "The Chicago Man." Try it at your own risk, though - it packs a punch. All that said, we can't wait to go back. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean!

The Italian wedding soup was a little bland and had almost no meat, but that may have just been our serving. My traditional veal Parmesan was fantastic, and my wife's Pappardelle Giuliana was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the service from Haley really hurt the experience. When taking my wife or family out for a nice dinner, I often call ahead, provide my credit card, and ask the restaurant to charge the meal with a 22% gratuity. I've done this many times without an issue. It's not because we're in a rush--it's simply nice to enjoy dinner and, when finished, say good night and leave without waiting for a check or dealing with payment. Haley approached us and assumed we had done this because we were "in a rush." When I explained why I actually do it, she told me it was more of a hassle for her because she had to manually enter the card instead of swiping it. That was a pretty surprising thing to say to a customer who had already arranged to leave you a 22% tip. I told her to forget the arrangement and that I'd give her my card at the end. Instead of letting it go, she continued bringing it up and making the situation increasingly awkward. She even reiterated that she preferred swiping the card. In the end, she literally talked herself out of a guaranteed 22% tip. I left 18%, mainly because I don't like leaving a poor tip. The restaurant is beautiful and the food deserves another visit, but Haley's approach to customer service turned what should have been a great evening into an unnecessarily awkward one. We'll likely return--but we'll definitely request a different server.
