My husband and I ordered the same thing but they tasted very different. We both got medium steaks, the one he got was a proper medium while mine medium rare to rare. The host made us feel incredibly unwelcome. We asked for a table and she informed us there weren't any (which is fine, a little attitude but I get it we didn't have a reservation) so we went to the lounge area. While there, we saw online that they did have availability so we booked. We spent over 30 mins in the lounge and no one took our order. When it was time for our table the host was aggressive as soon as she recognized us, said that the system online was wrong and that there are no tables. So we went back to the lounge.. honestly to figure out where to go next. Shortly after we got a message saying our table was ready, when my husband asked about it, she told him to sit back down that she will tell us when it's truly ready. Anyways, she came back reluctantly, saying that I guess people canceled so we can go in. We were staying at the hotel for a work trip and a few of us had drinks at the bar one night. The whole vibe of the hotel is great and it doesn't stop at the bar. Plus they're making great cocktails here. I had a couple negronis and they even came served on the fancy ice with Flor Fina right on the cube... nice touch. It was too late to get anything to eat, but the bartender was so nice to run in back and found my starving friend a bag of chips to give him some savory nourishment. My husband brought the fam here for brunch, we came on a Saturday at 12:30 and it wasn't busy at all when we arrived. We were seated right away, our waitress was super nice. We had pineapple mimosas, and ordered the breakfast empanadas, strawberry cheesecake French toast, and the pork belly tacos. The breakfast empanadas were lacking in some flavor, which is surprising because the meat inside is chorizo and typically anything with chorizo is jam-packed with flavor. The strawberry cheesecake French toast was good - it's pretty much what you'd expect, nothing game-changing but it tasted good. The pork belly tacos were our favorite item - the pork belly was tasty, it was cooked well with a slight crisp while still melting in your mouth. I'd recommend trying those for sure. The interior is really pretty - the blown glass artwork on the ceiling is very eye catching and I like the color scheme. read more

Stopped in for lunch at Flor Fina and had a great experience. Although the full restaurant wasn't open at the time, the bar more than delivered. The bartenders were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made some of the best drinks I've had in a while. One cocktail was the Punchline which literally comes with a real joke or "punch line" attached. Such a fun and creative touch. Limited lunch menu so I just ordered the burger and fries...both were excellent. The burger was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the fries were fresh and crispy made of real thick cut potatoes. The hotel itself is very nice and more upscale, looked like multiple weddings were happening at this time, and the location in Ybor is fantastic...perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food and drinks. I think my mistake was getting too excited for one of the brunch dishes that I over-hyped it in my head so let me start there. I have heard about Flor Fina a lot but have never been until this weekend. We parked in a nearby garage and saw a small sign on the outside of the building and two giant black doors - it was almost like a speakeasy. Once we entered we realized it was the back of the restaurant and had to go through to the front desk area - not the restaurant's fault definitely the GPS. We came for Sunday brunch and it wasn't too busy. We were seated toward the back and were brought menus and met our waitress pretty quickly so that part of the service was great. I ordered the special peach bellini and the fried green tomato eggs Benedict. For the peach bellini, I didn't notice any peach flavoring only the carbonation and fizz from prosecco so it wasn't my cup of tea. Now I had been looking forward to trying this Benedict the whole week and I think there are some things that could be changed for a better dish. Because of the collard greens, the fried green tomato slice lost its crunch and most of the coating sort of disintegrated into the collard greens. The other sauce instead of the traditional hollandaise I also wasn't a fan of and thought a hollandaise with some of those seasonings would have been better. Overall, it's a restaurant that's on the nore expensive side and I've had better eggs Benedict at much cheaper places. Flor Fina is located inside the Haya Hotel. Prices reflex that, however, we found portions large. My breakfast pot pie was very good. My husband got the standard breakfast and that was properly cooked. We shared an espresso martini that was fresh and well made. I loved our server as well. She was chatty in a good way. We ordered: guava jam Cuban toast. Came cold we had to ask the waiter to bring us the side of jam it comes with. There weren't gluten free options on the menu. House burger and fries were really good. Croque Sonora had way too much sauce, too much bread and just one small egg on top. The specials French toast with coconut whip and kiwi was actually 4 French toast sticks which tasted good but were cold as well. When the waiter came and asked us how everything was, we expressed our dislike with the guava toast I guess he was expecting us to say everything was good so when we said the guava toast was bad he kind of looked up and just walked away, not even an apology. We used our offline certificate and he was able to split our bills and apply our discount with no issues! I was so excited to try this restaurant, it was in my social media for a long long time, but honestly it was not the best experience ever, I had a reservation for me and my friends at 2:30pm on a Sunday, we were supposed to get some drinks and maybe some food, the ambiance and the place was so nice, beautifully decorated! We visited on a Sunday for brunch and were a bit disappointed by the limited food options. However, the quality of the dishes we tried made up for the lack of variety. We definitely enjoyed how relaxing it was to have brunch here. Their menu for brunch was pretty good. I had crab cakes Benedict, kale salad and we shared some fries and beignets. We also had some non alcoholic drinks that were amazing, not sweet like in other places. We loved it. Fries were amazing as well, had wedges that gave it additional taste. Kale salad was decent but also had spinach in it, my husband cannot have spinach so he wasn't able to eat it. Beignets were the worst part of the meal. Definitely not great. On the other hand, Flor Fina is reasonably priced and their food is actually very flavorful and satisfying. I got my go to brunch drink--a Bloody Mary-- for just $6, and then the girls got fancy brunch drinks that they said were delightful. They also had the most carefully curated dishes for brunch, centered around flavor and cooked to perfection. I got a sunny side egg on my chicken biscuit and it was cooked perfectly. The chicken thigh itself was not too heavily fried and was juicy and delectable inside. We got the pancakes for the table and they were a hit! It comes covered in this blackberry compote that is the perfect balance of sweet and juicy, and the brown butter sugar is so yummy you don't even need syrup! I also got a side of cheesy grits and they were so creamy and delicious!! The service was beyond accommodating, I never had an empty water cup and the server was so friendly and knowledgeable. I absolutely love Flor Fina. This is a restaurant located in the haya hotel. There is offstreet parking and parking garages, conveniently located close to the restaurant. This is within walking distance of the ybor strip. I suggest grabbing brunch here and then hitting the strip if you're looking for a day drinking activity with friends. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. There is glass artwork throughout. They also have a sunroom that is to die for. I came here for brunch with a group of girlfriends. I can truly say everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I recommend the snapper bites the beignets and the breakfast empanadas. The drinks were also strong and delicious. The food, service, and prices are upscale . The food was delicious. We started with sangria and a upscale bread basket. Next I had the braised beef short ribs. I changed the side to a potato purée which came on another entree. (Don't like blue cheese). These short ribs are probably the best entree on the menu. Fork tender. My family had numerous small plates for dinner. The crab & coconut soup I tried was very good. Our waiter and his assistant were excellent. There is street parking and also valet by the hotel. The brunch menu was delicious. The jam that came with our Cuban toast and Beignet was the best. Huge portions for the main course, so we all took home leftovers! The Steak Fajita Omelette had the best mushrooms I've had in a while. The staff, Theo and Dani, were very friendly, attentive, and able to answer every question my family had about the food.
