I was provided a quote for $260 cash to replace a garbage disposal. Plumber showed up and told me he would have to re plumb the system so it would be $360 cash. Before he arrived, I looked up replacement disposals and you tubed replacing it. I purchased a $99 disposal. Then bought a new P-Trap for $8.50. Took me less than 30 minutes!!! No leaks. Saved myself $250! I was really upset on the bait and switch. But I was sent the coupon and it did cite additional costs. BUT $100 for an $8.50 part and 10 minutes? "CASH" Never asked for free.... ask that you provide up front pricing. Nothing like waiting 2-days. To be told it's another $100 CASH when you already went to the bank. 15 minutes... $8.50 part?? Had a faucet replaced now it's leaking all over the place. There's a big gap between the faucet and the sink. They try putting caulk around the faucet which made it look really ugly and it didn't even work. I ended up hiring another plumber to fix the problem that they couldn't and wouldn't fix. Lol! I am late with my review but wanted to make sure I gave an appropriate review. I gave 4 stars for two reasons: 1) They only accept cash or credit card. For a large amount of money, I am not comfortable running around with cash, and stated if you wanted to write a check basically the estimate is more expensive, in my case, it would be $800 more expensive which to me is excessive. They even stated cashier's check would apply like a person check, except in the banking industry a cashier's check is as good as cash and they refused to give the discount and stated that would cost me the same price as the credit cost. 2) The finished job has the pipe sticking out of my clean out. I think it should properly close, but they refused to come back and fix the issue because they said they couldn't find my clean out when they had to fix this issue so they needed to leave it out like that, but I felt like that piece could of had a better job done. Overall, the service I received from Michael and his team was great and I had a pleasant experience. I had an emergency leak in early november. My downstairs bathroom had flooded twice and the bathrooms in my house were unusable. I attempted to get a plumber out to my house through my homeowner's warranty and had no luck. I called rooter rooter and it was a 4 hour wait. I lucked up and saw this place on yelp, and got in touch with Michael and he got someone out to my house in two hours. By the time, I called him after waiting on my warranty company it was now considered weekend / evening hours so it was a $500 charge to come out and unclog the drains. I am a new homeowner and was not sure what a clean out was so they had to unclog by pulling apart of my toilet. During the process, they ended up pulling root up and told me something must of broken a pipe because they are pulling up root and that i would need to get have them use a camera to find out the issue. He said to be careful because they unclogged it for now but it could clog up in the next few days because a bigger issue needs to be rectified. The next week, I paid $300 for them to come out with the camera and find out where the problem was. It was in the front of the house outside my foundation, a community tree, bursted my pipe and is caused the issue. At this point, I had spent $800 cash to find out what was going on and get my pipes unclogged and we weren't even at a permanent solution. After they found the issue they provided me with a quote of $5200 if I paid cash or $6000 if I paid by card / check for a sewer lateral. I had only been in my house for less than 3 years and didn't expect to have to do a whole sewer lateral and $6000 at that. The quote was sent by his wife, Alicia. I asked could I provide them with a cashier's check and they said they don't accept checks because they have had them bounce and they don't get paid. I am sure legally they could fight to get their money back from those folks but I had an emergency situation with a young child at home. I had to put 25% down in cash. I met Alicia in person for the deposit and received a receipt. The remaining amounts Since I was in an HOA community, they requested that I get something in writing that approved these repairs. This was no problem. They scheduled the repairs when I was out of town so I had a relative present at the home for the remaining transactions. Michael was good with communication. He stated that while they were making the repairs he found my clean out which had been covered by HOA landscaping and if they would have found that the night they needed to clear the drains he would have only charged me $250 instead of $500. In total, I spent $6000 cash to get the issue rectified. None I am receiving back from my HOA because sewer line issues from the main to the home is not their problem even though the tree is theirs or the city's....who knows and my warranty states the repairs and diagnostic is not covered because it's outside the foundation. So home ownership is not for faint of heart. Michael seemed very knowledgeable in his field and I assume COVID has made everything go up, but I wonder if I could of gotten the job done at better price because Cheapo is not so cheap. Michael did offer to help, if i needed to fight my HOA on his diagnosis but it's only so much I can fight. I see some folks left bad reviews and I think in most case scenarios we always need a plumber when it's a dire situation. We are not calling a plumber because we want to, it's because there is an issue not because we want a new friend. I had a pleasant experience for what I needed the service to be. I wish they would accept cashier's check and consider it as cash because that's what it is....it is not a personal check. I think you would be satisfied with this company for your service. Unfortunately you get what you pay for. I would say their service was hit or miss. We have used them twice out of convenience and would not go back again. The first time they came out to fix a toilet leak. The experience was ok and for the price you pay, you can expect that . The second time we asked them to replace a sink and their service went down tremendously. Anytime we called, we could hear a bad attitude with the owner (I think his name is Michael) and it got unpleasant to even call them. They had to come back 2 more times after that to look at the leaking faucet they installed and still could not fix it. Rather than offer a suggestion for a solution, the owner, got very defensive and said "It's not me, it's your faulty equipment. Sorry." and started to leave. OK - I understand there may be something wrong with my faucet, but there is no reason to be rude. YOU ARE A PLUMBER so how about offer a suggestion for a solution rather than getting all defensive for no reason, and wanting to run out the door. It got so bad that even he was arguing with us at one point. Just a very bad way to do business and I got EXTREMELY uncomfortable to have him inside of my home. If you are a woman and working with Michael, I would strongly suggest having your husband or a man present. I just did not feel comfortable. Even though he was not able to fix it, his son, however was very professional when he came out on his own and polite. Nothing like Michael. Overall just a VERY unprofessional, unpleasant experience and will never call them again. I hope your experience with him is not as bad as mine was. We are just going to move on and call someone else to help us get it fixed at this point. Wow! I just got off the phone with these people, quoting me $800 and above to remove the hot and cold pipes to a singular pipe. The guy was in a rush conversation and absolutely not interested in what I had to say. Needless to say, I can find another plumber to do the job! Please do not make excuses or justify your company's actions. If you the "business owner" had spoken with me, the house resides in Vallejo. As for the pipes, there are two valves, going out to the hot and cold water and I needed to remove the two pipes and combine it as one. A look at the pipes, would have resulted in a better understanding of the condition of the pipes, than some random estimate given over the phone. I also dislike talking back and forth like this, as it is very unprofessional. A phone call from the "business owner" would of been appreciated. Called around to get an estimate to repair a small leak and slightly loose toilet. This company was the only one that could do it quickly. They showed up the next morning and told me that the floor was slightly uneven but they could fix the problem. Basically put some caulk around the toilet and charged $280. Didn't replace the wax ring. Called them out again when I noticed the leak was still there. They put more caulk on there and said it was fixed. Just saw that there's a small amount of water around the base of the toilet again. I'll call someone who can actually do the job this time. read more

I called them after being disappointed with an enormous quote from Lowes. They gave three choices of pricing ranges based on the Whirlpool Models, they gave me a cash discount, they followed up the night before, they arrived on time. They came out drained it, disconnected it, and replaced it all in about 2 hours. Courteous, direct, and extremely professional. They cleaned up the piping so it was a more efficient and effective plumbing setup, made the earthquake straps hug the unit better increasing the area clearance. I called 16 different plumbers trying to find one that met my needs. Michael at Cheap O's Plumbing was the one of the few who was familiar with my hydronic heater system. He was the only one would come to downtown Vallejo, was willing to invoice me, and was available. I have to say, Michael KNOWS HIS STUFF! He went above and beyond to get me the parts my water heater needed. He went as far as to take a discontinued piece off the wall--nobody in the shop knew what it was, but he did! The manager came out and there was a big hoop-la about him taking this part-they didn't want to sell it to him- but it was the only one they had! Unfortunately, Yelp makes you give at least one star. I wanted to review this company to let others know what I have experienced from this "company". They were over at the beginning of the year to completely redo the bathroom and paint the living room. First of all, the boss, Mike actually took the time to go off and catch a rattlesnake while he was supposed to be on his way back to out house where the rest of his minions were "working". He killed it and skinned it in our front yard causing everyone to stop working. Unprofessional to say it nicely. They got paint all over the carpet and in a couple of the electrical outlets which we had to replace. They had to come back to fix the caulking on the shower because they left a gap in the frame and it still leaks due to still having a gap. They removed a fan for the paint job and have yet to put it back because they want to charge the tentent $200 for putting in the new one that the tenant bought themselves. Two of the cats escaped because they, for some reason, feel the need to leave the door open. We came home from work to the painters having a blast in the living room and two missing cats and they refused to help find them. After they left, we finally found the second cat and she was covered in paint. This was all on the first job they were hired to do by the landlord. The SECOND JOB was to place a dishwasher in and, of course, kept leaving the door open which they had to be told several times not to do. They turned the water off without letting us know about it. We were home the entire time and they couldn't even give us a notice from 10ft away that they turned off the water. Toilets don't work without water! They had to do the inside of the cabinet under the sink. Awesome right? Nope. They laid new wood on top of the old instead of replacing it. I saw another comment stating how they used cheap pvc for piping under the sink and it leaked. LMFAO they installed cheap pvc and silver paint coated plastic under ours and it leaked. But the best part about this company that everyone should know about is that they will leave their trash and used tools in your yard and you might even be lucky enough to find a couple of nails in your tire that they so graciously leave in your driveway. DO NOT ACCEPT THESE PEOPLE TO STEP FOOT IN YOUR HOUSE FOR ANY KIND OF WORK! EVEN IF YOU RENT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE WORK FROM ANYONE EVEN IF YOUR LANDLORD HIRES THEM! I wouldn't hire them to so much look. Just looking from these people might cause something to go wrong. I am reporting them to the BBC as I write this comment. Michael the owner immediately answered our first phone call late in the evening and came out early the next morning. The pluming problem we had was a severe clog in our drain leading to the sewer line. Every time we would run the upstairs shower the line would back up into our kitchen sink. We've had others attempt to clear the line but were unable to do so. The clog gave Michael a hard time but he didn't give up. Michael was able to dislodge the clog and free the line. He then started in about warranty on my toilet and you're not supposed to do this or that. I didn't realize I committed a crime against the toilet. I'm not a plumber that's why I called him. The issue I have is the lack of professionalism, his response was more like a scolding and he assumed I couldn't afford his pricing. His tone was very off putting and unprofessional. I recently did some DIY plumbing work on my sink and flushed the waste water down my toilet when cleaning up afterwards. The next day my DIY pride was drowned when the toilet started backing up. I have NEVER written a good/bad review on YELP before but after my experience with Cheap O Plumbing I had to!! I had the bathroom remodeled upstairs and 2 days later there was leak coming from the shower head. I tried to get the contractor to fix it but never did. I used the tub instead and 30 minutes later water was dripping from the vent downstairs and large PUDDLES of water on the floor (that was just recently installed). Long story short, the insurance company sent contractors and adjusters to estimate damages (pulled up my floor, removed the baseboard, damaged the fridgerator) and to fix the problem but the insurance company was not sucessful in resolving issue. I was frustrated at this point. I found Cheap 0' Pluming on YELP. I explained to him the problem and he came out early Saturday morning. The estimate was affordable. He identified the problem (shower head assembly was installed incorrectly so the water was going into the hole and into the wall) and fixed it on the spot.
