I love Cheba, but this place was kinda lame. I came in and sat at the bar around 11:20 (forty minutes before they close) and there was one other person at the bar eating a sandwich. I waited for about five minutes before I went up to the counter and ordered a sandwich and asked about the bartender. I was advised that the bartender was on her break and they weren't sure when she would be back. I ate my sandwich and was about to leave when I noticed the person at the bar do something on the computer, indicating to me that she was the bartender. I ended up getting a drink at almost 11:45. I know everyone needs a break, but I think a bit of courtesy in letting me know what was going on would have been pretty easy to give. read more

What can you say about Cheba Hut just really consistent high quality sandwiches! This location is really new and modern! It has both a nice bar and patio and looks like a cool place to hang out. We ordered a Kali Mist and a 5-0 both were really tasty sandwiches! The kali mist has turkey, bacon, spicy mayo, avocado, jalapeños and pepper Jack! It's soo good and almost the perfect sandwich love that spicy mayo! The 5-0 has multiple different types of pork deli meat with a few different peppers a really good traditional sandwich spiced up a bit! I am a Cheba Hut addict. Their subs are AMAZING!! With that said unfortunately I have not had a good experience with this new location on Alameda. I first went to this location on opening day Monday July 12th and gave them another shot today. During both visits my sub was made incorrectly and I had a long wait to get my food. This location is across the street from me and super convenient but the Central Park location is only 12 minutes from me and they have always gotten my order out quick, correct, and the staff is always really nice and upbeat. Hopefully this new location will improve soon if not I'll just start going back to the Central Park location. Monday July 12th: * Ordered at the counter * Cashier really needed more training. She didn't know how to use their ordering system, didn't know where any buttons were, kept ringing things up incorrectly and the girl who appeared to be her trainer standing behind her was to busy looking around and talking to her co-workers instead of helping the cashier so she ended up asking someone else for help. I had to tell the cashier what we wanted at least 5 times before she got it entered correctly. * Wait time was very long and there weren't a lot of people waiting for food. * When we got home there was honey mustard on my sub instead of only on the side like I had asked for multiple times. Today Friday July 16th: * Ordered on app * Arrived to the expediter telling me she would have to charge me for the side of honey mustard when it already comes on the sub I ordered, and I asked for it on the side. She apologized saying they just opened and had it remade since they made the sub with the honey mustard on it. * Out of the blue Kool-Aid. Sad that they are out and haven't even been open a week. The subs are still awesome and although I appreciate my order being remade correctly it is frustrating that this is now the second time we had an issue and the ticket was correct, just made wrong. I don't believe that being a new location and just opening is an excuse. The Kali Mist comes with roasted turkey breast, bacon, chipotle mayo, jalapeño, avocado, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, Shake & House dressing. You can also customize with other various veggies and dressings of your choosing. The thing I always remember about this spot is their Kool-Aid drink options. Remember drinking Kool-Aid as a kid?! Good times! You'll have a few different flavor choices and all of them are good. They also have a few items for dessert like marshmellow bars and cookies.. both look amazing, but I haven't tried them myself. The inside of this restaurant is very modern, clean, and has a great outdoor patio. There's also a bar running various daily drink specials and quite a few beers on tap. I can't even explain how much I've fallen in love with Cheba Hut. Nothing can compare to the quality of sandwiches I've had at this place. This particular Cheba Hut was similar to others in terms of size, friendliness of staff, and time from order to receiving your meal. I got the White Widow sandwich for the first time on white bread and the bread was soft, sandwich was well put together (no spills), and the amount of sauce was perfect. Additionally, I tried the green apple kool-aid which is not something you see at a lot of food spots. Overall, Cheba Hut has become my favorite sandwich spots from aesthetic, to food quality, to the unique options. This particular location is consistent with what I like this place for. read more

They definitely have a weed inviting theme throughout the restaurant, in the menu, and with their staff if you haven't figured it out. The mural decor inside and music is 90s gangsta rap mostly so they have a very specific taste here. I wouldn't want to go back to the 90s so I don't gravitate to this place for the ambiance. Now the food is decent and you get points or free subs when you buy a certain amount. I'm not a sandwich person but I do know the bread is good and they do a good job with flavor combinations. I have gone to this location several times and I have always been very pleased. But I went last night 3/10/2024 at appx. 8:15 p.m., and ordered the large AK-47 (French Dip) with extra roast beef. I ate about 2-3 bites off the top last night - no problem. I was going to eat the rest today for lunch, and I took another bite and noticed something very chewy and wet...Turns out there was a Whole Rolled-Up Napkin in between the bread! Also there was Little to No Roast Beef, but was charged for Extra Roast Beef! There is absolutely No Way this was a Mistake, this was done purposely - just the way the Napkin was Rolled up and covered with so many mushrooms, onions and cheese, and the small amount of meat that was there, was placed at the very top and at the end of the sandwich, no meat in between, just the Rolled-up Napkin. WOW! Unbelievable! If Cheba Hut was running out of Roast Beef (If this was the case), couldn't you have just let me know? I would've ordered something else! This was our first time trying Cheeba Hut and unfortunately the last. Which is too bad because the actual restaurant is cool. Nice bar with outdoor seating, cool art work. However the tables were dirty from the previous guests, the sandwiches took a very long time to come out, and when they did it was pretty much just bread. My sandwich has 1 slice of deli thin turkey meat, 1 slice of bacon, too many onions and hardly any mushrooms. My husband had the tuna which also did not have enough. I travel around a lot and have been to several Cheba Hut locations. Usually they are staffed with friendly young women and men. I usually have to wait a minute to get helped, no problem. Usually they are friendly once they get there. I went to this location in Aurora today and waited as usual, no problem. But when the little guy with the goatee decided to help me he let me know I was disturbing him. He gruffly took my order and gave me the total. I was paying cash and he didn't seem to appreciate that either. Maybe it's just the area but when I spend $16 for a lunch sandwich and drink a thank you would be nice. Her drinks arent good at all. Teach these bartender what a dry shake is (shake with no ice). Maybe if she wasnt pounding shots at the bar she would have made a drink correctly. Went in with my girlfriend last night and immediately got greeted by one of the worst attitudes I've ever seen an employee have. My girlfriend has a disability and she is hard of hearing so when the employee was asking questions under his breath about our order she repeatedly had to ask him to repeat himself because she couldn't hear him. It finally go to the point where he started talking to her like she was a mentally challenged child due to the fact that she couldn't hear him, (these are grown men by the way.) After I asked what his problem was, he rolled his eyes and scoffed at us and proceeded to have a volatile attitude with us. Another male employee who was standing right by him started laughing at us and shaking his head as if we were't there spending our hard earned money at their establishment. As I'm walking back to my table I'm shaking my head in disbelief of the treatment we've been enduring, and finally the same guy looks at me across the restaurant and asks me "do you have a problem?" We then tried calling the store to talk to a manager and got hung up on every single time. There aren't a lot of places that deliver exceptional customer service these days but these guys have it down. There was a very small error with my order.
