The bread here is THE BEST. I had the wheat and the texture is perfectly crunchy outside but soft and light inside. I'm hoping I hit on a really bad day because I heard so many people excited for this place to open. My experience was pretty pathetic.my sandwich had literally ONE PIECE OF HAM and one strip of bacon on it. I don't remember what the sandwich was called but I'd just call it toast. I LOVEEE cheba! The food is always so good. Here, you will probably have be the best sandwich of your life. My family has been visiting Cheba since 2015 and we will continue to go whenever we are in town. The kali mist is a family favorite, and I really enjoy the la canna. If you like pickles, make sure you ask for extra because they've gotten smaller over the years. Besides that, this place is the BEST. They have a full bar as well which adds to the ambiance. It just makes me sad. Living 3 blocks away and being treated so poorly just makes me very sad for this establishment. Having to ensure that friends do not frequent moving forward is not who we are, but at the same time we must stand up and state it is not ok how people were treated. We sucked it up, but we also told tables next to us who were being thrown out 2 hours before a band, that it is not who we are as a community. I was so sad to see how ownership treated people - truly broke my heart and truly made me want to stand up and say this is not who we are!!! I will take my money elsewhere as will many people who we were around. I hate having to post this but I could not sleep otherwise! Cheba hut - I do appreciate your response below but please note we did order food, we were there at 5:00 and the disrespect to your patrons (I'm not concerned about our party) was very sad. And I can assure you I have great compassion for disabled individuals and would be the first to offer a seat. You actually asked all the tables around us to leave as well at 6:00 and the show was at 7. We weren't even there for the show - we were there to enjoy a little food and beverages with friends. Sub sandwich was delicious, I got La Canna Italian sub, full of flavors. My wife got a chicken sub with BBQ sauce, it wasn't as good. One complaint I have is that the music was way too loud l, I could not hear the girl taking my order, she had to repeat herself a couple times. First time eating here. We were greeted warmly by the Cheba team!! We took our time since we didn't know what we wanted and she was super patient with us. I love me a tuna melt and I couldn't pass up on it here. I got it with the garlic bread. I liked how the bread was crunchy but was not super thick. The filling was just the perfect amount. I hate when places overstuff their sandwiches! My husband had the G something and he was also super impressed! Not sure why we waited this long to try it! I was told I couldn't order a vodka soda but had to order from a pre determined cocktail menu because they had live music at 7...huh it was only 5:20. If I could post zero stars I would. I have never seen such horrid customer service exhibited form anywhere else. I had gone here with some friends and gotten a few sandwiches to go, I had paid extra for added avocado that didn't come on the sandwich by default. When I got home, I had realized my sandwich didn't have the avocado. No biggie. Called back the next day with receipt in hand explaining nicely and politely that my sandwich didn't not have avocado present when I was up charged. I was promptly met with "....SO?!?" Quickly followed up with "what do you want ME to do about it?!?". That's more than enough to tell you that the staff is incompetent, immature, and needs serious retraining on customer relations. I've been in twice and didn't love it. The first time I had the mushroom marinara and I didn't like that they warmed the marinara & cheese but put raw, cold mushrooms on it. In my opinion if you order a hot sandwich the main item (meat or veggie) should be warm. I get that the lettuce & tomato wouldn't be, but still think the mushrooms should have been cooked. The second time I had the cheesy garlic bread. I don't think I'm a fan of their "shake" which is some kind of Parmesan blend. I'm sure I'll stop in again at some point because it's very close to my neighborhood and we have friends that go often. Next time, I'll try something else and ask for no shake. I drive by daily on my way home and the patio always looks busy & people seem to be having fun playing corn hole and listening to live music. read more
