Pretty good subs. We ordered online and picked them up. We still had a few minutes before they were ready, so we just observed a lot of the decor, which is really fun. The iced tea had a cartoon pic of Ice Cube. A skeleton was smokin a blunt...They even have a little bar on the other side of the counter where you order food from. We took the subs back to our air Bnb and they were pretty delicious too. Even got the pretzel bites and the honey mustard that came with it was soooo delicious! read more

Love the theme and the concept. Ordered a sub and a cup of soup. Requested to have the jalapeño peppers on the side. Arrived to find a girl working the to go counter that seemed to be a bit out of it. Np, all good. Got home and opened the bag to find this ... what do I even say about this? Why would someone ask for a side of black pepper?? Food was really good. French Onion to go is quite challenging, but they pulled it off. Sub was good, even with out my jalapeños! Walking into the joint is like being in a basement with bright lights and really strange bar. I unfortunately will not return. Went here for a quick dinner last night after a day on the beach. While the decor and theme is not super kid/ family friendly, everything is marijuana themed the sandwiches are pretty good. However, their website does a good job explaining nothing is made with marijuana. I had the club sandwich (can't remember the name) and my wife had the white witch (chicken bacon ranch). Both sandwiches were good and came with choice of bread (wheat, white or garlic Parmesan) and options for toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and shake - it's a mix of seasoning and Parmesan cheese they put together, and different sauces). Pickles are not slices but more like thin pickle spears. I just picked them off and ate them on their own. Sandwiches do not come with a side but you can order some sides they make or a bag of chips. We also ordered a side of not'Cho's which are Doritos topped with cheese, hot sauce, ranch and jalapeños. I would not order these again. Kind of a lackluster experience. We finished the meal of with a Rice Krispie treat which was big enough for two. It was a nice ending to the meal and tasted homemade despite being packaged and sold at the counter. Good place for a quick meal but I do not recommend taking kids unless you want to explain a lot of marijuana culture to them. read more

I've been looking forward to trying Chen's Hut ever since I heard we were getting one in Orlando. Unfortunately due to covid the opening has been delayed. I knew while visiting St Augustine I couldn't pass up the chance to stop by this location and finally try a toasted sub! First of all, the decor is super fun! So many references and funny little touches like putting a picture of the rapper Ice Cube over the ice dispenser. There's plenty of tables and a bar. The customer service was very friendly and helpful. Before the sandwiches we ordered the not'chos which were my favorite part of the meal, so good! I ordered the White Widow and my boyfriend ordered the current special. Both sandwiches were very tasty. I'd definitely recommend stopping by this place to eat. Good food and good atmosphere. Cool decor themed for marijuana enthusiasts. Made to order subs with names like G13 and Chronic to match the theme. Both of these are good choices for subs. I would definitely go back here when I am in town. The only thing we didn't really care for was the goo ball because it kind of tasted like a stale rice krispy treat with a touch of peanut butter. Nice place with great subs & salads! Staff were friendly, had a nice laid back feel but still helpful. I had the PAKALOLO sub ( Tomatoes only ). It was strange to eat pineapple on sandwich but was amazing almost like eating Hawaiian style pizza. Give this place a try if your tired of all the main stream sub shops. I come to ST Augustine for work and the name of this place caught my eye. I'm so happy I stopped in and tried this spot for lunch. They hit everything that a customer needs! Customer service, was 10 out of 10, the sub was very good and cooked to perfection (I had the Thai stick) very delicious. This was my wife and I first time visiting St Augustine and we so happen to stay at a Air BnB right near Cheba Hut. We love sandwiches and since leaving NY we haven't had our sandwich craving monster satisfied until we came here and OMG!!! They have the best toasted subs we have ever tasted. My wife isn't a beer drinker but she loved her pineapple cider with the sub. The bartender was down to earth and such a great vibe altogether. The music wasn't loud but set the mood. This is the best experience I have had in a long time. We sat at the bar where one of the owners (It's a family business.) was manning the bar. They had a great beer selection, and the food was awesome. We were made to feel at home and has great conversation the entire time. A couple from out of town sat at the bar and we all sat chatting with the bartender and having a great time. The atmosphere was so much fun. Both subs were amazing. The bread was super soft with a delicate crisp. More flavors than I thought were possible in a sub. I gave it a 5 star only because couldn't rate it higher.
