This is for the service department. Recently brought our BMW there to have a battery replacement. Was told it needed to be diagnosed to be sure it was only battery $165. I figured ok might as well check it outs well. Then I got the recommended services. One of the recommended services was diagnosis for 300? From what I can tell the $165 diagnosis was to tell me my battery was dead which I had already told them and to tell my wife it needed services that had actually been performed in the past year, fuel injector and intake valve cleaning and differential flush. Totally trying to upsell services I didn't need. The funny thing about it is that they didn't even find the one thing wrong with the car other than the dead battery that I knew of which was an engine mount needing to be replaced. So that tells me they didn't really look over the car. The $165 was just padding because no true diagnosis was done. Once I got the recommended services and the engine mount wasn't on it. I knew they hadn't even really looked at the car. I moved to this area about a year ago and have owned BMW's for the past 25 years and all have been dealer serviced. But I think I will have to find an independent shop if this is what the local dealer is like. read more

Horrible customer service! I parked right in front of the main office in guest parking with my family to view the 2019 BMW Z4 right out the door of the bmw office. Walked around the vehicle as everybody in the inside just looked at me, went to grab my wife from the truck to also see the vehicle and out of maybe all the 8 people I seen not one person came out to introduce them sells, if I was interest in the vehicle or anything. Just watched me drive in and park my truck, Walk to the vehicle, look around, go grab my wife, watch is both walk around the vehicle and never attempt to inquire if we wanted to purchase the vehicle, view the vehicle, drive the vehicle just nothing. So I go home and call to see if the vehicle is for sell already knowing it is and ask if you have to have an appointment being that I was just there and none of you all came out to greet me or potential sell that vehicle. All I received was " that's odd". Oh well I want be doing business with this bmw, great way to lose 75k and disrespect active duty military service members. Couldn't get a dollar from me. He previously sold me a tundra and when I called him he went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of at Toyota. I would highly recommend avoiding this business. I only came here because BMW had a recall on a high pressure fuel pump for my car. I was aware of an issue with my ignition system but wasn't planning on having them fix the issue because I knew a dealership would charge and excessive amount. And they didn't disappoint, quoting me $400 and two days for something that Virginia Beach Auto Haus did for $230 and five hours. "Yea, that ignition coil requires more labor hours because it's further back on the engine." This is what the service rep told me that was verified to be umm bullshit later. Previous review gave this place five stars because they fixed an issue that required a $2 part and five minutes. Do you review McDonald's as a fine dining experience as well? Besides the highway robbery. I'm giving it as little stars as possible for the following reasons: The service personnel are impossible to get on the phone. I don't know why I even bothered giving this place a second try. I scheduled an appointment online for an oil change early in the morning and this woman (who seemed very bothered) called me and asked me if I had a ride. I told her that I would be willing to wait because I've had oil changes before that took maybe 1.5 hours at the most. She told me that they fit in the oil change whenever they can and it can take all day...ALL DAY FOR AN OIL CHANGE?! What's the point of scheduling an appointment?! Customer service is bad, scheduling is bad, this whole establishment needs a major tune-up!! I will never come back here or recommend this place to anybody..go somewhere else read more

My BMW went through the service department, but was not serviced or even looked at. I had an appointment at 7:05 am. I spoke with another service advisor when I got there because my service advisor was nowhere to be found. It was another service manager who started my check in process. He then found my service advisor and she finished checking my car in. She told me that she would update me at 4pm about the status of my car because she said that they might not be able to get it in today. I told her that I worked the next day and would need my car by the end of the day. No call or voicemail was received at 4pm. I called her back at 4:30. There was no answer so I left a voicemail to have someone call me back about an update. Come 6pm the service department was closed and I heard nothing about my car. I left another voicemail for my service advisor and also tried to call the manager. I left another voicemail with Ashley and another for the manager. I heard nothing. At this point, I had left FOUR voicemails. I didn't hear anything the following morning from the manager, or my service advisor or anyone. I had to call the service department AGAIN, which I was put on hold for several minutes. I asked to speak with the manager, but they said he was in a meeting. I was told my service advisor was not available and I asked if someone could please call me back to give me an update about me car. I never got to speak with the manager or my service advisor. My service advisor TEXTED me about an update about my car. She texted, when I specifically asked for someone to call me back. She explained that my car still had not been looked at and she claims she called and left a voicemail at 4pm and apologized and said she left at 4pm yesterday. However, this does not explain why my multiple voicemails were not responded to by anyone or why I had to be the one to call again the next morning to get an update about my car. I understand that places get busy and we all have a life outside of work. I get it, but communication is KEY. Let the customer know what is going on with their vehicle. What is the point of making an appointment if my car would not be seen that day? This was just for a diagnosis. Also, if my service advisor did leave a voicemail yesterday at 4pm, she or the manager should have heard my multiple voicemails the following morning and someone, anyone should have called me back that very morning with an update on my car. It is safe to say that this has been a complete waste of my time and my husband's time. I ended up picking up my car without anyone having seen it. When I got to the service department, my service advisor was at the end of the counter and didn't even come over and apologize or even acknowledge that I was there. She simply handed it off to another service advisor. Poor customer service and terrible communication, Checkered Flag. I will NEVER bring my car back to Checkered Flag, nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

I've been going to this BMW for three years now and they're still incredible. I always get nice loaners whenever my vehicle is serviced, and the few times I've waited for it in the BMW lounge they've had really good snacks, lol. That definitely matters. The coffee is awful though, so go to Starbucks if you're waiting around for pick up. My service provider is also exceptional, his name is Joseph but don't try and request him because I want to be his only client, lol. read more

We were scheduled for a 7:05am drop off. We did not hear anything so we called at 1 and the man had nothing much to tell us then he is working on the car. This was a basic oil change, tune up, and diagnostic for ticking noise. We picked up our car at 4:30 with little results and our day was tied up while waiting for them to get to our car that was dropped off at 7:05 am. If I could give this place is zero stars I would, but yelp makes me give them at least one. This place is the worst car dealership I have ever dealt with. They take way too long on fixing your car, and when you call you always get to answering machines. One time I called every day for a week and had to leave threatening messages just to get in touch with someone. When I complain about it their manager called me and left me a message to call him anytime. Do you know what happened? I called him and could only get to his answering machine. My boyfriend has had multiple horrible experiences with this dealership. The first incident was when an inexperienced worker stalled his manual car out 6 times in a row, instead of asking somebody else to move it. After that, the car was returned with multiple scratches on the back bumper that weren't there before dropping it off. The manager initially offered a discount and then was no longer reachable via email, call etc. 3 months went by with no response. Fast forward to now, he has bought a new BMW and took it in for a state inspection. They told him x,y, and z were wrong and he needed to service it all that day with a total over $1200. The manager only offered a 10% discount valid only up to $200. So $200 for all of this inconvenience that he has had to deal with. He gave the OK to do the work, and said it would be ready in a few hours. They call at 4:30 and say ok it won't be done till tomorrow, no problem he said he can pick it up when it's done in the morning. He called 3 times at 10am, 12pm and 1pm trying to reach an advisor and no luck. They sent "emails" to the advisors for somebody to reach out and they still hadn't by 2pm. Finally he gets a TEXT. Not a call, with no detail but saying "sorry we have to keep your car over the weekend waiting for a part to come in." They have horrible customer service and no decency to help their customers spending thousands of dollars a year. I will no longer be using Checkered Flag for my cars or his. They need to be more clear on what is going on instead of ignoring customers. UPDATE: after a 10% discount and a good talk with the manager, I thought our problems were behind us. We went to pick up the M235 after being serviced today and there is another scratch (about 2 inches) which wasn't there before. We had pictures of each angle of the car before it went in given the previous experience... the scratch was not there before entering BMW. The service advisor didn't seem to care and said "I'll look into it Monday" Unacceptable service. Again! I would love to be able to trust BMW considering they're supposed to be the place you can feel good about taking your car, but after the resolution they gave last time, I'm just not satisfied and it happened yet again. read more

Great variety of cars. The are a no haggle dealership, but their cars are marked way over Blue Book price for a dealer. Remember, they buy and trade cars at the black book pruce, normally in "fair" condition, but sell at a NADA or blue book price in retail "excellent" condition. They will not move on the price, even if you show them the car isn't worth the money they're asking. read more

Dennis is our sales professional and I had multiple interactions with him over phone and through email. Dennis is very friendly over the phone and in person. A true professional and great person to deal with. Chris who welcomed us with a smile and we met Dennis and with Argo and everyone is willing to help and explanations from Sanas is really helpful to understand all the car's features. We drove for over 9 hours to take our car and honestly we were very happy and whole experience was very pleasant. Took my BMW in for service. I walked in to see the person behind the desk hang up the phone and hear him say out loud to noone, "What an idiot!" Smiling, he asked how he could help. I stifled the thought that first came to mind. I asked for service agent I had been trying to call and was directed to his area. Because he was at lunch, someone else, relunctantly, help me. I was talked "to" by both men (the original agent called me). They were just short of rude, doing just enough to be 'helpful' without really being helpful. There was an arrogance and 'you don't know what you're talking about' attitude. Not what I expected from a BMW dealership. Ever since I bought my BMW brand new in 2011 from BMW San Diego, I've always felt that I was indeed a valued customer, until now. I relocated to Virginia Beach and with only a handful of BMW dealerships near, I brought my car in for service. When I arrived I waited at the drive thru for 10 minutes. From my past experiences from other dealerships, I was greeted immediately even during peak times. It's unfortunate to say, the customer service here is just Poor. Only positive part of my experience was working with Amy. She was very helpful and worked quickly. I dropped my car off on a Friday and Amy told me that it wouldn't be ready until the following Monday. On mo day I didn't receive any notification that my car was ready and had to call to see if it was ready. When I arrived , I sold in the service desk area where 2 employees saw me, didn't bother to acknowledge that I was there. All I asked is they tell me that they would be with me in a few minutes so I know they will help me out after they finish a previous job. 15 minutes pass and I finally walk up to one of the employees and asked him, who do I need to talk to, to pick up my car. Finally, he helps me out and has another employee retrieve my car. The man who brought my car out front asked the owner and ha fed my key and left without telling me where my car was. I look in the drive thru and my car was not there. I look outside and it's parked on the right corner. The customer service I received at this dealership is far below the customer service I've received from other dealerships . The customer service I received from Nissan, Toyota and even the motorcycle dealerships I've taken my other vehicles to, have been far more pleasant than Checkered Flag BMW. read more

So, I scheduled an appointment on Saturday for the earliest available slot which was the following Wednesday. A bit of an inconvenience since my brakes light went out (open recall on my year and model for faulty rear lights) and I have to be "careful" not to get pulled over or rear ended. When I was making my appointment, over the phone, the man asked if I'd be waiting or dropping off. I said I'd wait and I asked how long the wait would be. He said two hours, which was fine with me. I'd be out of there early enough to avoid VA Beach traffic. So, it's the day of my appointment and I have taken the day off from work. I get to my 1050 appointment. Check in, then talk with the advisor (Ashley) who tells me she'll call me at 4. Hold up! I thought this was a 2 hour appointment. She then tells me, my appointment was for drop off. Hold up! No it wasn't! That's not what I told the guy over the phone. At this point I feel my body getting hot and I'm trying to keep cool because this has become a serious inconvenience. I didn't plan for this. I didn't have someone follow me to take me home. I asked about a loaner but they're only available to people who wait and the appointment takes longer than 2 hours. OMG! Oh but wait they have a shuttle that travels within a 15 mile radius. Great. But I live further than 15 miles. I asked about rescheduling but the earliest appointment was next Tuesday. I declined to reschedule because I need the brake lights, reverse light and blinker lights fixed asap. A safety issue that should be addressed immediately. Right? Anyway, the lady continues to tell me when she calls at 4, she'll be able to tell me if my car was fixed today. Hold up! So y'all can't guarantee that I'll get my car back today? And I can't get a loaner? So who's taking me to work tomorrow? She says that they might not have the parts needed to fix the problem so I could bring the car back when the parts come in. So basically, I'll still be driving around with ONE brake light, that could very well go out at any moment. Accident and/or ticket waiting to happen. Smh. Other auto repair places call shortly after drop off to give you some sort of an update but I called BMW 3 hours after my appointment time just to get a status update. Guess what? When I spoke to Ashley, they were conveniently just now working on my car. So no real update to give but "I'll call you at 4". I assumed my car wasn't really being worked on and that I would not get it back today fixed. If this wasn't the only BMW service location in the area I would have just gone somewhere else. Maybe next time, I'll go out of town for better customer service. What's the point of scheduling an appointment if you're not going to start working on my car until 3 hours later? I purchased my first car (used BMW 328i) from carmax less than a year ago, I started having numerous issues with the car starting within the first few months. After getting the run around with Carmax during previous service visits, I decided to visit Checkered Flag BMW where Amy Munden (the best service rep ever) went above and beyond to find the real issues with my vehicle. Not only did she work with me to make sure my warranty covered what it could but she also answered all my questions to assure me that these were the right fixes for my car... AND it was done in a DAY! On top of all that (yes theres more amazingness) when I picked up my car she explained that there were two recalls for the model that I mentioned in one of my previous visits. Even though they had limited parts for the fix she was able to get them done at the same time. I can truly say I will always return to Amy at Checkered Flag BMW for any future issues with my car. I got a leak in a run flat tire on my 5-series. After calling the parts and service center here to verify they had the tire I needed, I was told I could bring the car in with no appointment to get the new one installed same day. Not only did this turn out not to be true, I came in the next day to try again and was also turned away and they could not schedule an appointment for a later date either. I am surprised a luxury car company would allow one of their cars to be driven unsafely on the road like this with no help given. I have since visited this dealership twice and had a very positive experience so I am fairly willing to chalk this bad experience up as an anomaly. read more

Customer Service Rep Jason S. has been assisting me for years and is the best Rep I have seen at numerous BMW locations (San Jose, CA, Visalia, CA, & Jacksonville, FL). I won't take my car to anyone else! He's honest and upfront about price and they are more than accommodating if the service takes longer or still attempting to isolate the problem. On one occurrence, we made three trips to fix the same problem, and final trip we got it fixed and they were very gracious regarding money spent previously and final visit costs. read more
