On 12-21-25 while out Christmas Shopping , my wife and I decided to stop at one of our favorite places to eat. Today however surprised us. We stopped to eat, the door staff was friendly and sat us very quickly. They sat us in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant wasn't very busy. Once sat, we sat there looking at the menu. Not one employee stopped to ask if we needed anything to drink, or tell us that our waiter/waitress would be with us shortly. Instead we sat there patiently, only to watch other customers to be waited on, other tables being sat around us and waiters/waitresses waiting on the new customers, ignoring us completely, After 20 minutes, my patience left me and I got mad, I asked to speak with a manager about the poor service, only to be told that they would now wait on us. I know we aren't important as customers and the store could probably care less, but it's a shame that a reputable place that my family and I have always enjoyed will not get our praise or recommendations. Service was speedy, which isn't always the case, but it was this time. The food takes a little longer bc it's made from scratch, but it's always been worth it. Based off of first impressions....I'd give this place another shot. Simply based off of their menu being quite large. Came on a Wednesday around 5pm. Wasn't busy at all. The dining ambiance was good. Our table could have been cleaner. Grilled shrimp Alfredo- Hubby got this one instead of the chicken but wasn't a fan of the shrimp. He left hungry. But still consumed his meal to get by. Loved the sauce though. Monte Cristo with fries- The fries would have had decent flavor if they were fresh. The monte cristo came home with me. Not a huge fan but it was okay. It was the first time I ever tried something like that. Nothing that was bursting with flavor but okay. We want to go back simply to try other dishes, and the pricing isn't half bad. I felt it was mostly fried food, which I don't normally eat. There are salads but I didn't like the options. I chose fried shrimp with French fries as my entree. It was tasty. Went for my bf's birthday. We had to put our names on a waiting list and it took quite awhile to get called to be seated. The good thing about it was that they texted us so we could wait in our car instead of the crowded lobby. Once seated we were waited on fairly quickly and got our drink orders. My bf got the ribs, I got the shrimp, one son got the steak, the other got a burger, and his daughter got something else. Food was good but the steak was undercooked. 7 pm on a Monday night with Covid restrictions and there is a wait so you KNOW it is going to be good! My family arrived for dinner and checked in with the hostess. We were told it would be approximately 25 minutes and we would get a text when we could come in. Fair enough. Our wait ended up being much less than 25 minutes and we were taken to a nice booth in the back. This was our first visit and I thought the restaurant was beautiful. Everything you see is very pleasing and tastefully decorated. We really enjoyed the croissants with honey butter but didn't order any additional so we would have plenty of room for food! BF got the Monte Cristo sandwich and it arrived without the preserves or powdered sugar, nothing that could be fixed quickly. He let me try a bite and it was fantastic. The portion size was good too. I got the chicken fried chicken and it was amazing. I substituted corn for the beans and all of the flavors together were perfect! I ate every bite. There is an option to get a half size which is what I did and it was plenty of food. Daughter got grilled cheese, you really can't mess that up but her fries looked good. I did order two adult beverages and they were really slow to come out. I had all but finished my meal when the second one arrived but the waitress explained the bar tender was waiting tables as well. I wasn't upset about it but it was nice that she was proactive with the explanation. One of the bussers was having a rough night and was in deep conversation and chastising a French fry for falling off the plate so that was entertaining. I pass by this place everyweek on my way to work out, and I always wanted to stop and check out the ppace that taunts made from scratch food. On a Friday night, it wasn't packed. We were seated quickly. The place seemed to be clean and had a nice atmosphere. I was very surprised to find there was not a craft beer menu... I ordered the new meatloaf with side of fries and a raspberry lemonade. My old man ordered the half rack of ribs and tenders. The lemonade did not taste anything special, not particularly tart. The meatloaf was pretty good actually. His ribs..? Super disappointed. The first one wasnt even warm, and the replacement... was cold. I thought he was kidding on the second, and I actually stuck my finger into the rib. Like it came out the fridge..... his chicken tenders were good he said, and he liked the horseraddishy honey mustard. The service was very good, waittress was attentive and responsive. I question how "from scratch" is their food when it makes it to my table cold. *after dinner edit* the manager came to see us, and he took his meat thermometer and was disappointed. We were only asking for ribs to be taken off, but he insisted on comping the entire meal because it was our first time, and a terrible impression. Went to Cheddars yesterday. The service was terrible. My steak was over cooked. My baked potato was old. My sister ordered the countrystyle chicken she specifcally said she did not want gravy on her mashed potatoes When her plate arrived there was gravy on her potatoes. She told the waiter about it. He brings back a small serving of mashed potatoes. She had more potatoes and gravy on her plate then the small bowl that he brought her. We was very disappointed. Writing this review I am conflicted and I'll be rather blunt about why, there's three main components the management, the food and the server Chris. I'll start with Chris as he is the only reason for the 5 stars in this review. I should not forget to mention this was Chris' first day working and we were his first party of 9. He moved tables kept the conversation light and fun most importantly he didn't forget a single item and no glass sat empty without a refill on the way. COULD NOT ASK FOR A BETTER SERVER. Now to talk about management, seemed to be on a power trip, they would not take call ahead seating for our group, the would not seat us together putting us at separate tables in out door patio were there wasn't anyone else. We moved the table of three over to our table of 6 they did NOT like that. Food was about as good as it always is from cheddars it's the higher end Applebees we knew what we we're getting and I'll come back and buy food again maybe just not with a party as managers don't seem to like accommodating large groups. A pineapple salsa topped chicken and shrimp, chicken tenders and fries, chicken tender salad, and a hamburger. All the food was tasty, although nothing amazing. This place was hopping! We showed up when many schools were having prom so the wait was much longer than expected. After twenty minutes, though, we were able to find a seat in the bar. Our server was kind and sweet but very slow. It took 5 minutes to clear off our table, another five to get our menus to us, and I ordered a side of broccoli and it came ten minutes after my main entree was delivered. The server, despite the lagging, was so sweet and engaging and really tried to pay attention to us when she could. I ate a steak, rice, and broccoli and they were delicious! I can't believe this was our first time here. We arrived about 530pm and I expected there to be a wait (even though it's a Thursday evening). As soon as we walked in we were greeted and taken to a booth. Our server came to see us right away. As we looked over the menu he brought us our drinks and two buttery croissants. Cheddar's is located in the same area as Costco and recently opened a couple of weeks ago. I came here for lunch around 11:30 am with a friend and ordered the lunch combo (pick 2 for $7.29). We had the chicken tortilla soup/potato soup and half of a cheddar's club sandwich. The sandwich was really good but the chicken tortilla soup was not. It was very salty. I would probably stick to the potato soup or salad the next time I visit. The prices are pretty reasonable and there are plenty of options on the menu. The restaurant itself is really nice inside. We wanted to start off with a drink and felt pressured to order immediately. We did finally order and our salad was there immediately. We barely finished our salad and our dinner was served. My date had ordered a medium rare steak and it was rare/raw so he sent it back to be cooked a little more. The steak was returned the way it had left. I don't think it ever got cooked. The salmon was good but they must have been running low on rice and carrots. The 5oz. Salmon covered what little rice we had. Came in this morning and had the worst service I've had in my life. The food was exactly what I had asked for and the staff all had smiling faces except for my server Ashley, so I wasn't sure about leaving a review. I heard her talk down on her coworker a few times when that coworker was significantly more friendly than our server herself, just didn't really represent a welcoming environment whatsoever. I'm a fan of this place but I will ask for another server if Ashley is ever mine again. I've worked in restaurants my whole life so I understand how important it is to have a positive attitude when taking care of customers.
