I know there has been a lot of bad press about The Cracker Barrel in the past few months. However... I went there for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday with my son & a friend. Yes, we did have a bit of a wait but it wasn't terrible. My son had called ahead of time and got us on the "waiting list". We looked around the store and even bought a few things until it was our turn to be seated. I ordered a "traditional" Thanksgiving meal, my friend order a fried turkey dinner and my son ordered chicken tenders. Our waitress (who's name I didn't think to write down) was very friendly and attentive. It didn't take long for us to get our orders after they were taken. The food was good and we enjoyed our meals. About the only drawback perhaps is that I don't care for sweet potatoes and was not able to substitute the sweet potato casserole for the hash brown casserole. So had to order the hash brown casserole separately. So anyway, it was a good experience for us. read more

Count us among the majority who wanted the old logo maintained. This Cracker Barrel is very popular, and we have learned that 2:00 - 3:30 are excellent times to visit. We don't care for a full house, and never wait. Today - Chicken and Dumplings, meatloaf, and pot roast. Prices are right. Rylee, our server could not have been more delightful. Glad this property was able to maintain the ambience of a a Cracker Barrel. We like Uncle Hershel and expect to see him on every visit. What on earth was Corporate thinking.... 4/23/26 - Server brought me cold coffee, had to go to server station to ask for a hot cup. Pointed out it was not a good way to start, sarcastically, offered an "I'm sorry" turned on her heels and walked away. Went to the front asked for as manager, explained I was not thrilled with the server's curt response and asked, "how do you serve a cold cup of coffee". He tried to explain that the coffee was in a "thermal cup' and server could not tell the temperature. Really? Long and short of it, instead of offering an apology himself or any type of solution he asked me to leave because I did not seem calm to him. Do NOT go to this location!! read more

I ordered delivery from Cracker Barrel recently. I've ate in Cracker Barrel a few times, but I've never had takeout or delivery, so I am somewhat familiar with their menu and food. I ordered the Classic Sampler. It allows you to choose two meat items and two sides and it comes with your choice of bread. The choices are Chicken n' Dumplings and Meatloaf; Homestyle Chicken and Meatloaf; Homestyle Chicken and Chicken n' Dumplings; or all Homestyle Chicken, Meatloaf and Chicken n' Dumplings. I ordered the Chicken n' Dumplings and Meatloaf. For sides I got green beans and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. I chose the buttermilk biscuits for my bread choice. Items were delivered fairly quick in a big plastic bag. The Chicken n' Dumplings, mashed potatoes and gravy were on a plastic plate platter. The meatloaf was in its own plastic container. The buttermilk biscuits were in a paper bag. There was small tied plastic bag with two butter containers. There were no napkins, no salt and pepper and no utensils. Quantity-wise, it's a lot of food. But quality-wise it was just fair. The Chicken n' Dumplings was kind of lukewarm and there were definitely more dumplings than chicken. I'd say there were maybe three good pieces of chicken at best. The dumplings were of various sizes and were very dense. The green beans were cooked well. The mashed potatoes were just okay with just a bit of gravy already on them. Personally, I would've preferred to put the gravy on myself. I did enjoy the meatloaf. It had a nice texture, was flavorful and had a nice cooked crust. If I had to order again I think I would get just the meatloaf. There is a good amount of food but I wouldn't recommend. As previously mentioned, way too many dumplings and very little chicken. The food could've been warmer too. This Cracker Barrel is a little over two miles from me. I feel it should've been warmer. Biscuits and meatloaf were good but I'd pass on the Chicken n' Dumplings. Establishment should also add some napkins and utensils if they are offering takeout/delivery. I will pass on going here again as there are other options. read more

I haven't been to a Cracker Barrel since all the drama. When I do choose to eat at a Cracker Barrel it is almost always at this Centerville OH location. I stopped by tonight because I was in the area on another errand and it was convenient. I visited the store at around 6:00pm on a Saturday and I was immediately seated. My server was Allyn & she was right on her game. Service was excellent. I ordered the Homestyle Chicken Breast Dinner and it was delivered quickly and piping hot. The meal came with 2 HUGE chicken breasts that were crispy, juicy and not overcooked, like most places. I SHOULD have stopped after the first chicken breast, because now I am miserable. The interior of this restaurant is the same as always, a little dark by its nature but clean and the bus staff were right on top of clearing tables as soon they were vacated. There appeared to be plenty of help tonight and that has not been the case the last couple of times I visited. A really positive change for the better. Overall a very positive experience. read more

The breakfast, which can be pretty good was terrible. The hashbrown casserole was undercooked (maybe that's why they introduced hashbrown tots....), the bacon was way undercooked, and the biscuits and gravy had NO GRAVY which we were not informed until they brought out the food!! The waitress mentioned that they were out of white gravy until further notice. after we finished what we could of the breakfast plates (minus the hashbrown casserole and bacon obviously) and our "side" of biscuits,, the waitress showed up to let us know white gravy would be ready in 8 more minutes if we were still going to be here...(with no biscuits lol). We said no and she gave us the check.... No discount, mention of a discount, coupon, and no questions from the waitress or the manager at the checkout on whether we were satisfied, how was the meal, etc. The reason they don't ask this question is because they already know the answer and just don't want to hear it anymore..... When I found out a Cracker Barrel restaurant was near my hotel in Dayton....I knew I would need to go check it out. I am a lover of good, tasty southern cooking an Cracker Barrel embodies it 100%. If you can make it past the wonderful store onto the restaurant then you are doing well. I decided to try the seasoned spicy catfish with a side of collard greens and fried okra. My bread of choice was cornbread and the waitress brought me a side of apple butter because I was drooling over it. Lol! Everything was delicious and at the end I found a lot of great stocking stuffers and gifts to take home. Cracker Barrel has a solid menu and tends to be pretty consistent from location to location. My fish was good as usual and surprisingly, I enjoyed the iced coffee. All of the sides were very plain tasting and needed salt and pepper. My companion says the fried chicken breasts were good and juicy. Service was really friendly all around. read more

The restaurant was mostly empty ... probably due to previously alluded to event. The fried chicken was flavorful. The waitress forgot our silverware... not a big deal. We had a TIME. Granted, we went on a Sunday... that Sunday being Mother's Day, but service was still extremely slow. I was disappointed in the food. The bacon was undercooked on one of my three pieces, and the grits tasted like they were watered down?? Not great. I'm sorry to say it, as I'm a Cracker Barrel fan! Food was good. However I have been to this location 3 times and the service is the worst service I have received EVER. First time we went everything was fine except every table got bread but us. Went back with my wife and kids the second time. We sat down and nobody came for about 10 minutes. Finally a waitress arrives and she takes our drink orders and walks away. So another waitress comes over and tells us she will be serving us because the other waitress had to go home. I didn't think much of it as the waitress went over to help another table who our first waitress was waiting on and suddenly here comes back the first waitress and she goes and helps a different table. When the 2nd waitress brought our food we had no utensils and had to flag down the manager while our food was getting cold. Trip number 3 and the last one for sure. So it was close to 9pm the wife and I were hungry and I talked her in to going to Cracker Barrel because it was open until 10 even though the last time the service sucked. Maybe things have changed, well not even close. So I went to order the roast beef. Sorry no roast beef too late. Ok how about the pot pie. Probably not but I will go check if either of those are still available. Comes back ok pot pie is available. Ok ordered that and an appetizer. First thing out is the pot pie and 2 waters, then later the appetizer. Ok not a big deal. She lets me know there is less than an hour before they close. Um...ok. So now it's about 925ish and we are getting stares from the waitresses like hurry up and finish because we want to go home. My wife wanted a piece of apple pie. I can't get the attention of our waitress because she is a long conversation with another waitress who is complaining to her about something and this happened about 3 times. That waitress walked away our waitress went to clear another table so I got up walked over to her and asked if we could get a piece of apple pie. Sure no problem. Brings us 1 slice cold apple pie. Wife asks for fork and she says do you want to just use the forks you used for dinner from the pot pie or new forks. We told her new forks. When she came back with the forks in hand and the bill we asked if the pie is supposed to be cold and in the picture there is something on top. She said well it depends on the person. If you want me to heat it up I can and if you want ice cream it costs extra. My wife said ok to heating it up and the ice cream. The waitress was mad crumpled up the check, grabbed the plate like she was pissed walked away. She came back like 30 seconds later dropped the pie on the table and said no ice cream left cause of the holidays. Then my wife said can we get forks. Her response was I thought you were ok with your dinner forks. Umm no we told you new forks and you even came over with them before but never gave them to us. Ok, she goes and brings new forks but her hand is actually holding the top of the fork. Then after all the stares and them wanted us gone so they could finish cleaning and go home she disappeared as I just stood there waiting for her to reappear with the check. The pie was good. But I will never ever go back to this location even if they let me eat free for a year as their service is at the bottom of the barrel. Sorry for the cooks as the food is good but the front of the house is making the experience horrible and I will take my money elsewhere. read more

Always my go to on a leisure morning. I really enjoy this place. Nice people, fun atmosphere. A great place to go on a cheat day! I've had crispy fried chicken, chicken fried steak, and pancake. ALL of them scrummy! The sides are the fun part. Always the go to is the hash brown casserole, corn muffins, turnip greens, fried apples (alternating these with meals). Its a smooth operation when ordering and picking up a Thanksgiving dinner here. More food than 10 people can eat, and the hostess gets to relax and enjoy the holiday. And gor $109 they even include a gift to remember the day! Pickup is in the rear of the store and pretty much grab and go. There were hundreds of dinners ready to go, so many many people in this town went for easy and yummy. I will be doing this again. I would like to have thought that restaurants with so much kitschy decor have a regular schedule for it to be cleaned, but, short of that, at least clean the ceiling fans. Wow! First time in a Cracker Barrel. This one was pretty good. There wasn't too much of a wait when we were there during the weekend for breakfast. I liked their pancakes with fruit topping. You could choose from apple, peach, or blackberries. I had the apple topping the last time I went. Their sausage and eggs were good too. Sometimes the egg comes out dry, but not here. Also some places have some weird tasting sausage. I liked the sausage at the Cracker Barrel. Their bran muffins are also good and the yogurt with fruit and granola was good too. We went a couple weeks ago and was highly disappointed! I used to work st this location, but recently the service and food has declined! My husband and myself both ordered dip item which usually take 10 minutes max, this night it took like 25 minutes and when she brought food it was luke warm at best so asked to have it remade and she take them to the back and they warm them up in a microwave for maybe 30 seconds, it wasn't much better! We have eaten at this Cracker Barrel before but the quality seems to be going lower. Ordered their chicken strip meal with mash potatoes and green beans, wife ordered chicken and dumplings. Chicken strips were very thin 1/2 inch thick strips, almost pounded chicken? Green beans and potatoes were not warm. Chicken and dumplings were over salted and peppered. Gave us two things of butter for four biscuits. Waitress never checked on us after food was delivered, never refilled drinks. Bathroom was dirty with paper towels all over. read more

Wasn't a long wait so that's the only positive experience we had . My wife and I went for an early lunch but ordered breakfast . Our waitress was a tall young girl named Courtney . She greeted us and we ordered our food , I always ask for biscuits and cornbread while we wait . So for the first time ever in my Cracker Barrel experience she said we don't do that . So I asked when did you stop ? She said in my 5 years of working here we have never done that . I said well Cracker Barrel as a restaurant this is one thing that helped make them famous . She argued with me over something that really wasn't that important. It was just a huge turn off and I wish we would've left . A waitress should never argue with a customer over something so petty or at all . This waitress is definitely going to hurt your business at this location with her attitude. I for one will never go back to this location . The food when we received it was cold (eggs ) and the pancakes were so tough (sitting under heat lamp) I couldn't eat them . I recently ate at Cracker Barrel in Centerbille Ohio and found the tables were not being cleared in a timely manner and the restroom was a mess. A week later I was on Facebook and a former employee said the restaurant only received a 52 out of a hundred during a recent health department inspection. This former employee also provided some pictures and commentary about the dirty kitchen there. I don't think I will return to this particular Cracker Barrel in the near future and I hope corporate cleans the place up and replaces the current manager as this is unacceptable. read more
