We were looking for fried chicken in Indiana and Cheddar's popped up on our recommended list, so we thought we would give it a shot. The staff were friendly, but the layout of the restaurant is a little wonky. Our original seat backed up to another group and they were wiggly! Every time they moved our seats moved - very weird. The acoustics are also a little off because we could hear this group over our own. They did move us so the noise was mitigated a bit. Our waiter was nice, but I think a tad impatient because we asked to move. We ordered the chicken fried chicken and onion rings. It was ok, not enough gravy, but ok. They do bring sweet rolls before dinner, so that's a nice surprise. We also ordered chocolate cake sundae to go and it held up until we got back to the hotel. Cheddars is always a "hit" for me and this location was no different. Our party of 5 was seated right away around 6pm the day after Christmas. The warm croissants are always the perfect way to start a meal here. Within our group, we ordered chicken Alfredo pasta, fish fingers, vegetable platter, lemon pepper chicken, and I had the grilled tilapia and shrimp. Everything was excellent and most people had left overs. We also places to-go orders of a buffalo wrap and chicken pot pies. For the 5 meals at the restaurant and 2 to-go orders, the total was just under $100. This was a GREAT deal, especially in today's economy. Can't wait to return. read more

When you enter you're met with a giant fish tank to dine by or look at and the fans are unique, the ambiance of the restaurant is amazing. I started with their homemade onion rings, spinach artichoke dip and chips, and also chicken tenders with honey mustard, and chips and salsa, it was pretty good. For dinner I went with a Ribeye Steak medium well and it was super tender, I got a loaded baked potato for a side, and also some steak fries which were delicious too. We went to Cheddars for lunch December 29th or 30th, 2023. We each had one of their honey croissants and we shared the lemon pepper chicken. The owner (?) came to check on us twice. Cheddar's has always been a staple restaurant in our family. It has a multitude of dishes to choose from. Last night my family visited and started out with the service. The service was good as usual. The drinks were amazing! Top tier. But the food- the appetizer tasted old as if was warmed multiple times. I got the southwest burger. That is not the same beef. It tasted like school lunch, with little to no BBQ sauce and hard sautéed onions. I noticed my mother didn't eat much and my sister kept picking up the salt and pepper. We didn't say anything because we were having a great time. But this Cheddars has really declined from the fresh food they served in the past. Sorry to see it go. It has been a hot minute since we've gone to Cheddars. We had $40 gift card to use but didn't want to eat in. We did curbside. First of all, we didn't even have a chance to check-in on the app. The young lady who delivered our food recognized the truck as described when I placed the order. Due at 7:55, we got there at 7:57. We took the 15 minute drive home and open up our large bag with all the food accounted for!! My oh my were we pleasantly surprised!! I did realize the ribs were going to be a 1/2 rack. There were 4 huge chicken tenders as well. I did a $.99 upcharge for the salad, then got red beans and rice as a side. This meal was less than $20!! My wife got the chicken tenders platter with upcharge on side house salad and upcharge for the bacon cheddar mashed potatoes. With the two sides her meal was less than $15. One picture shows what we had remaining after we had filled ourselves. 5 tenders and 4 bones of ribs. The only problem would have been the warmth or coolness of the food. The ribs weren't cold, but cool. The tenders were warm. We did travel 15 minutes and some of that is expected. But I'm not complaining because the food was really good!! Okay so we decided to come here last minute, and honestly wish we woulda gone somewhere else. we came in at about 930/10 on a sunday night. our server was friendly but literally messed up multiple things with our order. so my boyfriend made it clear he wanted an extra piece of texas toast to go along with his pasta. he was brought out his pasta first then a few minutes later his side of rice with frozen butter on top. we waited another 5-7 minutes on his texas toast. He wanted to eat the toast and the pasta together, so of course by the time it was brought out, his entree was cold. Our server was no where to be found until she brought out 2 regular pieces of bread. with FROZEN, yes frozen butter. if she knew they didn't have the texas toast like is shown in the picture she should have notified us. Needless to say he wasn't happy with his meal. On the other hand mine was great, but nearly half of it was one before he received all his food. I asked for broccoli and yet she brought me broccoli casserole. So I ordered the watermelon margarita on the rocks. I was brought out a frozen margarita swirl. Told her it was the wrong one so she brought out the correct one. In the picture a slice of watermelon is on the glass, well not mine. Highlight of our meal was the HUGE chocolate cake which also took her a very long time to bring out. In fact she handed us our bill before even asking if we wanted anything else. This was a few months ago- I thought I shared my review here as well as another site. My husband and I were excited to finally try Cheddar's, as we had heard good things. Our evening started out pleasant enough. We arrived just before 9:30pm, one and a half hours before they closed; and while we were far from the only diners, they were not super busy. Seated relatively quickly, server was nice, and upon hearing it was our first visit, proceeded to tell us her recommendations. She took our drink order and then brought us a free croissant with melted honey butter. Warm and flakey, but nothing spectacular. We took a few minutes to look over the menu and ordered the spinach dip as an appetizer. My husband still had not received his beverage at this point. This is where things began to go downhill. The dip and salsa were great, perfect amount for the two of us. But our server took quite a long time to come back for our dinner order. We were finished with our appetizer before she put our order in, so we just sat waiting. And waiting. We did not receive our main dishes until just after 10:30. It was brought out by someone else, who said our server would check on us. I ordered the New Orleans Pasta and my husband ordered the full rack of ribs with fries and the broccoli "casserole". It was at least a couple more minutes before she came to the table, and I asked her for my garlic bread that did not arrive with my meal. My husband also had to ask for a separate plate for his rib bones and extra napkins. She came back with the plate and a plain croissant in place of the garlic bread because they were out and said she hoped that was okay. I really feel she should have asked before she brought me something random, but at that point I just told her it was fine, because we had just started eating, it was close to closing by then, and she seemed distracted with other things to do. My husband's ribs were amazing. The flavor and temperature were great and they literally fell off the bone they were so tender. The fries were okay, pretty basic steak-cut fries. The broccoli casserole looked cold and very much like the broccoli and cheese you would see dipped out in a cafeteria. The cheese sauce looked almost congealed. The assortment of meat in my pasta dish was delicious, especially the shrimp. But the flavors really didn't blend well with the rest of the dish. The pasta itself was almost cold, and the alfredo was much thinner than anticipated. I took a few bites and really couldn't eat much more due to the temperature. I told my husband that at least I thought it would reheat well. Our server was quick to bring the bill without asking if we wanted dessert or needing anything else. She said there was no rush, but we certainly didn't feel like they wanted us to stay and finish the meal we had waited nearly an hour to receive. We just asked for to-go containers, and it still took her a few minutes to bring them out. Our server was mostly good, she did check on us periodically; but it was more in passing. I would not say she was particularly attentive, and she seemed busy and distracted the entire time. She maintained her friendliness and did help me to pay the bill at the table. After we paid, I stopped to use the restroom while my husband went to the car. I was just thinking "at least everything is clean" when I look down and see a live cockroach next to the toilet. I was hesitant to mention this here, because I know even the cleanest restaurants can have bugs. It's just the nature of the business. But along with the other issues, I couldn't overlook it. Upon exiting the stall, I did look over the rest of the bathroom and there was a dead cockroach in the corner outside of another stall. The food was was a mix of okay and good, drinks were strong, and everything was reasonably priced. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but it just was not a great experience overall. About a month ago I ate at cheddars, and I had forgotten that you really need to tweak certain items on their menu. I love their lemon pepper chicken, but I like it extra grilled which today.2/6/24 I had them do and for me that was perfect but their carrots are hard as a rock they should be able to be cut with a fork not a knife tender is preferable ...almost raw, yuck..and I had them sent back my carrots and get me some tender carrots, which was a little better ..the rice and green beans were delicious and the salad was made per my request the way I like it ..The young man who served me was very good. (not great.) but the lemon pepper chicken is so much better extra grilled it just sears in that lemon pepper seasoning....NOW.. on a side note...why is it up until three weeks ago this establishment honored Military/retired with a minimal discount which we appreciate and all of a sudden their corporate office disrespected. The Military/retired Military and stopped giving discounts? Shame, shame on you...DRAKES HONORS, THE MILITARY, TEXAS ROADHOUSE, HONORS THE MILITARY AND THEIR FAMILIES... My parents and I love to eat here. But due to certain things we get it to go. We love there fish and love there ribs both are great Especially with coke slaw and either a cheese and broccoli or something. It's great food. But when u sit inside at times cam be loud from music and tv in the bar. There burger are good to as well as the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. Salads are good as well. Also one drink that's gokd is there raspberry tea., if u get food to go and u wait for it sometimes may take Alittle longer. But over all I do suggest this place read more

We have got 3 take outs from here recently. Just wondering why they have no tarter sauce or cocktail for their fish. They said it's because of limited menu. That makes no sense. These are condiments. I thought I did a review of Cheddar's long ago and now felt I was overdue for an update to it. It's would of been hard to give it a much better review. This isn't a 5 star restaurant and they don't advertise as if they were. However, they do offer some of the best line ups of foods, mixture of meals per price then anyone else I know. Better yet, the food tastes like it's made fresh and that they do "advertise". I don't stop at Cheddar's exclusively, but when I need a good meal, healthy eating, tastes fresh and a competitive price of my meal versus what I get, Cheddar's comes to mind and most likely a stop. I honestly can't remember a meal I did not like that I ordered at Cheddar's. Before I retired, we used to stop at Cheddars for lunch with my work associates. Sometimes they were a tad slow, but it was usually rush lunch hour and the place was packed. I think of the times I drive by and seeing the parking lot just full and that to me is a good sign, however I sometimes avoided it as well because I know there would be a wait. This stop, we wanted something fresh, different and although we try many different places, it is nice to return to something you can bank on. We stopped for salads. I still think of the luncheon salad "Chicken Pecan" I used to routinely ordered because of the price, quantity and tastefulness of it. We sat in the bar area in a booth seating. We were attended to by the manager herself as the waiter was busy and she explained some drink options, menus and said the waiter would be right over. Our waiter approached about 5 minutes later and took our drink order as well as our food order. We both had the "chicken pecan salad" I had as is, broiled chicken and wife asked for fried chicken, (which technically was not an option) but the waiter placed the request down. Our dressing option was honey mustard, which we stayed with, however, my wife got a side of blue cheese as well. I have to say the salads were delivered cold and abundant, nice spread of pecans. The first bite was like the same bite I had a long time ago. The crisp lettuce, crunchy fresh pecans and dressing made this salad what it was and still is. Grilled chicken, fresh greens, tomatoes, carrots, cheddar and jack cheese, glazed pecans, hummmmm! So tasty and crunchy and flavorful. This is what we came for and was not disappointed. This is always a pass go and collect $200 restaurant. The place is always clean and the exterior is always kept up. Just a fine all around dining place and experience. read more

Reading some of the previous reviews, it amazes me that anyone would go to a restaurant like Cheddar's and expect gourmet dining! Cheddar's is Cheddar's, and what they do, they do pretty well. Many years ago we dined at Cheddar's regularly. So much in fact we just got tired of it and wanted to try other restaurants. Yesterday, for the first time in a long time, we decided to make another visit for lunch, and we're glad we did. Portions are generous and food is good. My wife had the Chicken Tenders and Shrimp Combo ($11.49), with a house salad (.99 upcharge) and fries as her sides. She enjoyed her entire meal. Portions were large enough that she took three tenders home. I had the Cheddar's Pot Pie with a House Salad ($8.49). The salad was generous and the pot pie was larger than we remembered. I thoroughly enjoyed both the salad and entree. Cheddar's also has a full bar with mixed drinks and beer available. I had a 22 oz. Wee Mac draft ($5.99). Back to my opening statement. We eat out several times every week, so we are familiar with the Metro dining scene. How can you complain about Cheddar's food/prices when most sit down (not fast food) restaurants now charge $8 to $12 for a burger with or without a side. So I finally went to Cheddar's per my husband request 2nd time going and I will never come back again unless it's just for drinks and appetizers. I had the shrimp and 6 oz. Sirloin steak my shrimp were bite size and my steak was more like cubed steak,the broccoli rice casserole was a disappointment to say the least.we had the trio for an appetizer. The service was good today. I love the buttery croissants they give you with the meal it was nice and toasted but still light in texture. My tea was strong like I like it. I ordered the chicken tenders and sirloin with corn and mashed potatoes. My only complaints were my corn was a little skimpy and I think this meal should have 4 tenders instead of 3 but otherwise it was a quality meal. The steak had nice flavor and was easy to chew even though I get it well done. The chicken tenders were flaky and crispy. I especially like the honey mustard dip. The corn was nice and the potatoes while having skins which I'm not a fan, were still smooth and well seasoned. She got steak and shrimp. Her steak was also a nice cut without any gristle. The coconut shrimp were a good size butterflied and she liked the dip. She did say there was not quite enough dip. She also said the baked potato she got tasted a little old. Pitiful establishment. Went this evening at 4:30 in a party of 5. We submitted name at host stand and were told to wait on a table. 3 servers were folding napkins, 1 server was standing at the bar talking to bartender as we waited. The restaurant was practically empty! When asked what why were weren't being seated the hostess states a table of 8 was ahead of us. Okay, but the rest of the restaurant is available. We waited another minutes and finally left for a more prepared restaurant down the road. Won't be returning of you can't handle the 4:30 crowd - can't imagine what service is like after 5. This is a standby for me when grabbing a bite with family & friends. The menu gives plenty of options. Even the pickiest eaters I know can find something here. I have tried numerous items from the menu & haven't found anything that wasn't good. There is one odd item on the menu that combines pasta salad with regular salad...odd combo but tasted good! I'd just never seen pasta and lettuce mixed in together. I love the salads, buffalo chicken wrap, and the soups are always hot & delicious. The only complaint we have is the manager who is a woman who appears to be in her mid 50s. Her ability to deal with customer issues is ZERO!
