I Wish I could tell you all about the food, the service the ambiance but sadly I can't. Kiddo and I got there at 4. It was a bit busy but not super packed. We checked in and waited about a minute maybe 2. We were sat down at a booth next to the bar. It must have been shift change bcz everyone was in front of our booth hugging saying bye some saying hi. We looked at our menus, we looked some more. We saw the shift change. We waited some more. Staff saw us. Staff talked to others in front of our booth. We waited 20 minutes yes 20. I made eye contact with many many staff members. Another 5 minutes no one stopped by. Others got seated around us. Others got drinks and greeted. 30 minutes we got up and a waitress sees us and says have u been helped? No we haven't we waited 30 minutes for someone. Oh well let me see who has your table. I told her no thanks we're going to go ahead and leave. Instead of apologizing she says "oh well go ahead and leave your menus with the hostess up front" WOW! We get to the front and hand the hostess the menus she looks confused and I explained what had just happened. I asked if i could speak to someone about this and she straight up said "no they're really busy but u can go back to your table if u want" nope. We ended up going next door and having a great meal with great service and to thank them we gave the server a tip that matched the amount of the meal. We will never go back to Cheddars ever! read more

Just had the worst experience ever. What was supposed to be a great family night out to celebrate turned into a nightmare. We got our salad and food out at the same time when we specifically told the waitress how we wanted our order to come out. Stopping through on my way to Cali and noticed Cheddars off the highway. Never realized it would be THE place to go...or so it seemed. It was packed! Luckily they have a nice bar to get a drink and wait for your table to be ready. Once seated, I ordered the lasagna/spaghetti dish. I have to say I was skeptical, but it was pretty darn good. Our table also ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and was given two thumbs up! Service was crazy fast! They are a well run machine. Get you in and out. The menu is not huge and they have everything pretty much prepared by opening, so they just need to heat each dish as it's ordered I suppose. Is it gourmet? No, but it's good quality American cuisine. Also, our waiter was very friendly...overly friendly...as in the typical TGI Friday's friendly. That's a good thing...but really just feels fake too. But what else can I say, they do that style perfectly. I would come back if I wanted a good, chain restaurant style family dining experience. read more

We were very please with the speed of being served however it took 3 requests for more lemon for our fish dinners.Never in my life have I had to wait, after our plates were cleared did I have to ask for our check and than had to wait. The food here is good and inexpensive but I'm giving it a one star based on my last dining experience. We waited over 30 minutes before our server finally said "your food will be out soon." After noticing that at least 4 tables around us received their food before us and were sat well after we were, we called the manager (it takes a lot for us to call the manager). Turns out "the kitchen lost our ticket." Manager comped our meal but we were still upset. The server didn't even try to apologize to us, to go the extra mile to fix the situation, and she barely even checked on us after this all happened. It was extremely disappointing... it wasn't even super packed so I felt there was really no excuse. Our server should've checked on our food in the kitchen earlier to catch this mistake. Had the most unpleasant experience today during lunchtime. I ordered a delicious grilled chicken salad with sweet pecans. As I had taken a few bites, I saw a blond fine hair. I called on the manager, she was very pleasant and apologetic, asked me if I wanted to order something else. I told her no, that had done it for me. I got dessert instead. Won't go back. Let me start off by saying that I love Cheddar's. As far as chains go, this is my absolute favorite! But my experience at this location was horrible. We got there around 8pm and we were a large group. There were 9 of us, so I expected to have a longer wait than normal. But it was ridiculous. The restaurant is not set up to accommodate very many large groups, since the tables are apparently bolted down. They offered us a large booth since we had kids with us. This was not a good option for us. I don't care how big the booth is, 9 peeps can not fit comfortably that way. However, we were willing to split up and sit in separate booths or tables. When we arrived there was no one ahead of us. As we sat there for 50 minutes waiting for the hostesses figure it out, about eight other parties came in and were seated. They did get us a croissant for my baby to help appease him during the wait. We were finally seated in two booths. We ordered some more croissants, only to be told they were out. So we asked for any bread. then i ordered the Santa Fe Spinach dip, which is my favorite dip in the world! I was told they were out of that too. While I was sitting there the table next to us had issues with there order as well. In fact, the waiter told the person that they didn't have what they ordered until the rest of their table received their food! Then I received my meal, Dijon chicken with carrots and broccoli casserole. And my broccoli casserole was cold. Not just from sitting out, but straight up cold! I was so irritated at that point! My family went to the car while I waited to speak with a manager. While I waited the table behind me sent their food back for being cold as well! When the manager came out I told him all of the issues. He apologized and simply said they prepare everything in advance and when they run out they run out. That was it...nothing else. So I still left unhappy and will not return to that Cheddar's ever again. Luckily I live right down the road from one in my home town! read more

Upon walking up the doors/windows are covered in greasy finger prints. As I am being seated at the table I see the floors are covered in crumbs and food. I am then seated at my table which is also dirty with crumbs and drink stains. Guess who sat here long enough to write this review, but won't be ordering food and walking out? This guy! If the front end is this bad then imagine what the backend looks like! I would fire all the managers and most senior servers and start over. I read that Albuquerque is getting one of these restaurants and so decided to visit this El Paso location on a business trip. The prices are very very reasonable and they say all the food is made from scratch. We ordered a cup of tortilla soup and the onion rings as appetizers - you can a mountain/tower of onion rings and they certainly taste fresh. The two sauces aren't great (one is creole and one ranch I think), but the rungs themselves are excellent. For mains we tried the shepherd's pie and the chicken tender/rib combo. The shepherd's pie had fired onions on top of the mashed potato (which isn't traditional) but aside form that the taste was vey good. The chicken tenders were fantastic, as was the sauce on the ribs and the ribs themselves had a lot of meat and were tasty (just not really any kind of smoky flavor that you would get at a BBQ joint - but then you aren't paying BBQ joint prices!) We had a couple of "adult" beverages and they were also very good & affordable - I think I had the spicy mango mojito and that was excellent. All in all I am looking forward to this place opening in Albuquerque - I fear it will be really busy for a while, but there are a lot of other options on the menu I would like to try. read more

Cheddars is overall a cheap place to get a lot of different types of dishes, yet, the cheap price reflects the quality of the food. If I had to really say how the food is, it's basically cafeteria-like food. Although, there are still good things about the food here that I'll give credit for. FOOD: - Queso & chips appetizer: SO GOOD!! It's basically nacho cheese, ground beef (if you ask for it--hence I totally suggest), and chips. Simple, but once you get a chip with dip, it is freaking addicting. Awesome appetizer! - Honey Butter croissants: THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS PLACE! If there is one thing I'll come back for at this joint it's the croissants! They come to you toasty warm and covered with their melted honey butter glaze. IT IS JUST AMAZING....shoot, I'd get a dozen as my whole meal! - Cheese and broccoli appetizer: Pretty good too! I must warn that it is pretty cheesy, but it sure is damn good! I suggest not to get any other cheesy dish with this appetizer otherwise you'll get cheese over load. - salmon fillet: ehh..A-OK. Nothing too spectacular, but it helps satisfy your hunger if you can't make any other choice. I think it's a "favorite" order by a lot of people, but don't expect class. Like I said, cafeteria-food standard. You'll see if you order it. - Rice: I think they added to much water to theirs. Again, cafeteria grade. - Drinks: Refresher and are bottomless (free refills). SERVICE: This location sucks. None of the waiters would check on you. Plus, it took FOREVER to get our croissants, which we asked more than 3 times and to different waiters! WTF??? I came into town to visit family and wanted to enjoy a nice dinner at a place I've never been. I have worked in the food Industry before and I know that it's who greets you first that makes or breaks your attitude for you stay. Well we were greeted by a sweet young lady who I asked our waiter and he said her name was jasmine, Anyways her attitude was amazing and she was very positive as a hostess should be. Forget it! Salmon? I'm not going to lie, the food is pretty good. However, I did get a rotten mixed green salad once and being pregnant at the time, I was nauseous at the sight of the rotten, smelly salad. I was able to get my salad compensated but the server was not at all apologetic for the food and nether was the manager. On other occasions we have gone, the food has been just fine, service as well. The biggest issue, on any given day or time, there is a huge chance you will have to wait about 20 to 30 minutes. I wasn't intending to review this visit but the experience was so disappointing I felt compelled to. In the six months since my last visit service hasn't improved at all. It is slow and sporadically attentive. I should have stuck to my regular order - the Monte Cristo, but this time I felt creative and went with the New Orleans pasta, a combination of chicken, shrimp and sausage in some kind of sauce over penne pasta. It was so salty it was barely edible and only then in a very small amount. My wife's coffee was delivered splashed all over and it took 2 requests to get napkins to clean it up. I have only eaten at cheddars by myself in the bar when I'm near one because of business. Being from Nevada, I look to see if one is near me when I travel to Texas. The menu is delicious down home comfort food. I just had the ribs and chicken fingers. The meat fell right off the bone and the sauce was perfect. The chicken was great too. I always go with the slaw but tonight for the second side I tried the cheese broccoli casserole, it was basically cheese glory. There is usually a wait to be seated, but it's because this is a very popular restaurant in town. The food is delicious and the prices are great! I had never been to a Cheddar's. I still wouldn't have been to a Cheddar's except that I went into the wrong restaurant. I thought I had pulled into the B.J.'s Restaurant parking lot (they are next to each other). The parking lot was full at lunch time, obviously a popular place. I walked in looking for the bar to the right. However, the bar was to the left and it was showing a replay of the Kansas-West Virginia game on TV. I went into the bar, even though I didn't have a clue where I was at. I got a beer and the menu. I was surprised how low the prices were overall, except on the beer and wine. I ordered the glazed bourbon salmon with rice. I was surprised how good the salmon and rice was. I split on my two sides. The mac and cheese wasn't bad, better than most, definitely homemade. The southern-style green beans were, well, there weren't normal green beans. They tasted like canned beans, I couldn't finish them, even had difficulty eating them. But, the price and the quality of everything else on my one visit prompts me to give Cheddars four stars. read more
