The worst service I've ever received as a customer. We requested silverware and plates from our server 3 times before the silverware was finally brought out to us... we actually received our food before we got silverware... not that our food came out quickly, cause it didn't, but our server just kept forgetting to get our silverware...we never received our plates so we ate our rolls over napkins. Our order was incorrect. We ordered 3 items that were never brought out. It took forever to get our food and the server didn't check in on us or ask if we needed anything. I understand that restaurants are understaffed right now, but this was horrendous customer service. The families sitting at nearby tables received similar customer service, as they elected to speak to the manager and complain. Not going back. read more

Went to Cheddaars after the eclipse expecting a long wait. We were told 5 to 10 minutes by the girl with dramatic makeup with our surprise at the short wait. After 30 minutes I checked back as we were in the lobby and wanted to make sure we could hear them. The vapid blonde gave me the ok Karen look, sorry I am a natural blonde too, and said there were 6 in front of us. After 30 more minutes I was told 6-7 in front of us despite the people who walked in front of us checked were taken and they did not check in on line. Tired of the three standing at the desk talking we gave up and got in line on 79. Sorry I am used to going to big events in Pittsburgh and being treated well at restaurants. If we had not waited until traffic was better after the eclipse then headed out to the restaurant so the crowd would thin this would not have been a surprise. People were leaving without eating increased as we left. Poor planning for a large event and water on the bathroom floors! Glad we left hungry. read more

We had a guest from Australia and wanted to eat at home.. a friend said try Big Bar, so we ordered a 24" pizza and wings. Pizza was extremely delicious. The box is so big that we had so much fun looking at haha:) Definitely recommend and we will order gain.. - only thing is wait time is about 1 hr. but well worth it! read more

Before anything is truly said I wish as many other a half star was an option. However it is not, so here we are. I've went to this place a lot pre covid and after covid, whether that be with family or friends. So I will review wait time and pricing then onto service and food. The wait time at this place, from what I have seen is great. It seems that waiting longer than 15 minutes is unnatural even on busier days. So that's a plus. And the pricing is also pretty good for what you get. However this is not what tanked the review. Starting with the service I have had a generally good time with service most of the time I've went. However it seems that even with greatest of service, the kitchen is lacking in speed. Even on days that barely have a couple tables full. So sometimes waiting for even a simple item or service may take quite a while compared to what is should be. However the staff are very well mannered and have been good to me and other guests who have come along. With the food there is one tragic difference. Pre covid the food was almost perfect and amazing every time. And after covid reopening's it has fallen in quality. This is not only noticeable with the huge cut of menu items to what they used to have but also the overall taste. I've had their stake, chicken pot pie, tenders, alfredo all of that. And for the most part it tastes good, but there are bit too many cases where it doesn't taste as good as last time. Or something is different and its not a good different. So it seems they are suffering post covid, and that can be many reasons. But regardless this is a competitive business and others have done it better. Oh yeah they give free honey butter croissants, which are decent. And the dessert is also pretty good. This is a place I would love to give a 3.5/5 if I good on Yelp, but Ill instead point it out in my review. Its not a 3 and its not a 4 like it used to be. Its good. Not pricey. But the experience is not the same. Whether that be post covid problems or different staff. Regardless, its not a bad place to go, and you may enjoy yourself a lot. I sure did several times over. This place was ok...with a name like "Cheddar's," I was expecting a restaurant with more personality and, I dunno, cheesy dishes? Instead, it feels like they're playing it safe and trying to be your next run-of-the-mill chain restaurant that offers a little bit of everything. Food was an overall "all right" from everyone in our party (from the fried chicken to the burgers). I had the tilapia with mango salsa...nothing to write home about. My brother gave a thumbs up to the "grown-up grilled cheese," which was nothing more than some slices of cheddar and American cheese with roast beef. Lastly, the reviews I read all commented on poor service...but we found the opposite to be true. For an unexpected party of nine at 7:30 on a Friday night, they sat us in no time. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. There was a moment where the manager reprimanded our waitress while she was serving us...that was super tacky. We visited you Restaurant for the first time on our vacation July 12, 2021 at 8:55 PM. First we were happy to find a restaurant open at that hour. Our waiter was NAVIER, He was such a nice professional young man. Engaged with us which made us feel like he cared about us personally. He replaced our drinks without even asking which was awesome. We ordered the chicken pot pie fish and chips and chicken tenders and french fries. The food really had a taste of being homemade which was refreshing since we are away from home. He checked on us many times through the mail to make sure we had everything we needed. We got efficient napkins which we normally do not get, and his service was just stellar and very kind according to my son who has autism. Please forward this complement to our waiter NAVIER. I been to cheddars in North Carolina and Florida and here is no exception. Inside looks identical to all the others ones I been in before. The food is what it should be, a solid good tasting dinner. I'm not sure what all the negative buzz is about at this particular location but I certainly had no issues while visiting here. The price is what it usually is as well, very reasonable. First time visiting a Cheddar's and I won't ever go back. The honey butter croissants were hard and cold. The booth we sat in was filthy, I don't think anyone has washed the seats or walls since the place was built. Our server never once checked on us once our meals were delivered. Just finished eating at Cheddars and it was a great experience from start to finish. This was our first time there and we were very impressed. Our server was very good. Food and portions were awesome. Great homestyle comfort food. We had the fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes well as the steak and ribs with fries and cheddar broccoli casserole. Both very good. Our waiter, Tony, was great! No qualms with him. My food was great. My husband and I shared cheese curds and I had a chicken wrap. My husband got a chicken and rice dish. He bit into his chicken and it was not cooked all the way. It was faintly pink inside. He asked me to taste it and I did, it was very rubbery and was obviously in need of a few more minutes. We told Tony and the manager came over. The manager asked what was wrong and my husband told him. Then the manager proceeded to say he looked at it in the back and ripped it all apart and it looked fine to him. He said it was probably just a texture issue and wasn't a cooking issue. The manager ended up removing it and we tipped Tony well. It was unpleasant being told it was "just a texture issue". I've cooked chicken before and know what uncooked chicken looked like. My son and I stopped here at Cheddars after an Erie Otters game. The restaurant was not busy. My son ordered the chicken tenders meal and I ordered the New Orleans Pasta. I asked the waitress if they could make it without the shrimp as I have a slight allergy to seafood. She said yes they could. About 15 minutes later our food was brought to us, and of course my pasta had shrimp big as life all over it. I pointed this out to our waitress who shrugged and said they would make it again. About 5 minutes later she brought out another plate that had no shrimp on it. My happiness was short lived as I took a first bite only to find the food was cold. Not just a little cold but really cold. This got me thinking how a new plate full of New Orleans Pasta just prepared could possibly get ice cold in five minutes. This shook any confidence I might have had that my meal was ever going to be right. When our waitress approached our table I politely told her the food was cold. Not just a little but reaaaally cold. She offered to have it microwaved but I just asked her to take it off our bill and not bring it back. With much indifference she did. No apology. No visit from management with apology. No insistence to make it right. Just, here's your check. Our visit ended with a trip to the most disgusting rest room I have seen in a long spell. The only reason I don't give one star is my son's food was good. I ought to know. I had to snack on some of it to keep from going completely hungry. This is very difficult for me to write as I am really beyond the level to reason what happened last night at Cheddar's. After buying a new suit I headed up to meet my wife and kids for dinner whom were seated in the bar area. Now the first time we went there my food was cold showing up to our table and I sent it back for some radar love and then it only came back slightly warm. They are a new restaurant I get that, I've been to this chain while I've traveled across the united states. The server was nice as he stopped by often and was very nervous, either I did that or he's just that way. He gets points for giving my daughter a band aid for her finger. When the food arrived I ordered the steak chicken and smashed potatoes. My wife and children ordered the waffles and chicken and we split the order as they are 7 and 5 so it fit the amount you should eat. I've worked and managed kitchens before and have made allowances for everything from hair to they didn't like the color of the food. When I started my meal it was the mashed potatoes that were covered with gravy and that is where I stopped. It tasted like an ashtray. Not burnt, but a real ashtray. My wife looked at me and said said what's wrong? I said someone dumped and ashtray in my potatoes! She said I bet they just burned them. My wife /being of Polish heritage knows potatoes, and during family picnic's you are ankle deep in this vegetable. She took a bite and spit it out! My God your right, tell the manager. I called the manager over and told him this tastes like an ashtray. He was really shocked and if it was kitchen I would have tasted the food. He didn't, he handed it to a server and asked if I would like a baked potato and there is the rub. He didn't care, this tells me something is going on in the kitchen. Either its turnover or he does not know what the going on with the quality of the food. I asked him to check the mixing pots and he didn't. I truly believe someone in the kitchen did mix in ashes into my food and I will not be returning. I've never written a review like this and I eat out a lot. This place is a hot mess! We won't be back. I think their biggest problems are operational. Our server was overly nice so much that it was annoying. She would say she would fix something and then wouldn't. We had to ask for our drinks to be refilled and no one bussed our tables. By the end of our meal we had 7 plates plus two glasses, this is not OK, it makes for a stressed out dining experience. People are not reading tickets and food runners are literally running the food and leaving as fast as possible, not making sure guests have what they need. Food Fails This time my soup was luke warm (could be because again no spoon and I had to wait waaay too long to get one, asked twice) and my husband asked for no sauce on his shrimp, it came out with sauce and the server said she was going to have them re-make it and kept apologizing, once was enough, move on and fix it. In the meantime she brought out a plate with hot water in a ramekin and said while we were waiting we could wash the sauce off the shrimp? WTF? Now we just have more plates on our table. Guess what, we never got our shrimp or a to go container that I asked for. Other Observations There was a table across from me and I could see what was going on but not hear. Within 10 minutes I saw servers bring them no less than 3 different types of cocktails all apparently which appeared to be incorrect. The look on their faces was one of annoyance. My advice to management would be to get these operational hiccups taken care of immediately. My previous review predicted this place would go down the hill within a year of opening, well it didn't even take that long. Sadly this place will probably do OK in Erie just because people are sick of eating at the same places. read more

I was able to sit down at the bar right away but it took about another ten minutes before I was even approached by a bartender (it looked as though they had been pretty slammed). I ordered the chicken tortilla soup as an appetizer and when it came out I was less than impressed by the portion size and the temperature was luke-warm at best. I had the chicken tender platter as my entree and I must say that the chicken tenders were huge and I was given very generous portions. The flavors of the tenders and the two sides that I had (fries and broccoli caserole) were very good. A guest that was seated next to me ordered the chicken tenders basket and he had the same amount of tenders and fries but no broccoli caserole and paid $2 less so I was not impressed that they basically charge $2 for less than an ice cream scoop full of broccoli and cheese. I ordered the big cookie dessert and it was good although I would have preferred the cookie to be a little more on the soft and chewy side rather than crunchy. All in all, the reason for my twol stars here is not really due to the food but rather the service. The management needs to step up during busy times and help out their staff rather than just checking the sales numbers in the computer. I witnessed more than one manager step behind the bar not to help customers that have been waiting but rather to log into a computer and appear to check numbers and that is not acceptable when guests are waiting to be served! I took my girls here for lunch after a cheer competition. Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, and excellent service. Caileigh was our server and she was the greatest. The portions are huge and super affordable. I had bbq chicken and a half slab of ribs... Incredible. My lady had Dijon grilled chicken with mushrooms and the kid had a Jr. burger which was a 1/4 lb. This was an ok choice for dinner. To quickly summarize the restaurant was clean, food was ok, service was ok. Upon entering it appeared that the hostesses, yes plural, didn't have everything under control. They appeared to be flustered and the manager had to chime in. The restaurant atmosphere was that of an upscale restaurant with the non upscale prices. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very personable and friendly. He checked in with us and kept our drinks full. The food was pretty good as well. We ordered an appetizer which was way overdone. The entrees were good. They also have some gluten free choices. There are a few items that are supposed to be low in calories but only based on their website. The bathrooms were extremely clean and smelled good. A few things that were weird. They seem to run out of silverware. We didn't have any to start with and had to ask for it even after we received our appetizer. The waiter kept apologizing for the wait but we didn't even notice the wait. Good place to go but not great. I would go back there but probably wouldn't make it a suggestion. read more

We couldn't get drink refills they left dirty dishes on our table and then the server disappeared with my credit card for over 15 minutes when we tried to pay the bill. I've heard other locations have better service but this one was awful. We watch between 4-6 servers stand around looking at their phones while we were trying to get someone's attention.
