My first time to this cheddars in Fayetteville. Ordered the barbecue chicken dinner with a side of mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes were good and barbecue chicken was also very good. I also had that large cookie dessert with ice cream and that was also very good. Went there recently to have the worst experience from the staff to include the manager. Our group of 7 placed our drink order. Upon arriving we received half glass of water, couple cubes of ice and a small piece thin piece of lemon. Jokingly I stated who do I have to mug for more ice, water and lemon. Was told if additional were to be brought out it would cost us a 3.99 per person or if we just wanted another thin slice of lemon it will cost us .55 cents per slice. REALLY.. The waitress sent over the Manager who stated that higher food cost for lemons in California and also there food cost at Cheddars were so high. They have to charge the higher fees on additions being served. ARE YOU SERIOUSE.. SHAME ON YOU FOR ALLOWING THIS. WE TOOK OUR GROUP AND THE ONES WHO WERE ON THERE WAY TO ANOTHER RESTUARANT. who by the way didn't have to be belittle by a manager who had a nonchalant attitude & just kept rolling her eyes. Greeted promptly and that's the only pleasant experience. Requested a table for 8, got a booth for 6, so we had to split up the group. Server took our drink order, took 15 min to get sodas. Ordered food, each person got their meal 10 min after the person before them, so basically the last person to get their meal was just starting to eat when the first person was sitting there waiting. Tried to get refills but they were far and few between. Ordered dessert, took forever to get the wrong order and then another 20 min to get the right one. Main course was overcooked and rice was extremely dry. Received our bills, mine was 20.00 and when I got my card and receipt back, it was swiped for 26.00, so this took forever to fix. We went here as a party of 6- myself, husband, two teens and my in-laws. We went on a sunday night around 5:15 pm. We were told it would be about 45 minute wait, and it was. I found that odd since once we were seated there were plenty of empty tables. We ordered our food- burgers, grilled cheese, chicken pot pie ,pasta, sodas and coffee for in-laws. It took an hour to recieve our meals. I'm not sure why because no one ordered anything complicated and there were still a bunch of empty tables. Two of the burgers were VERY undercooked but since we had already waited an hour and the waiter was scarce most of the time, no one sent it back. My son's meal was supposed to come with garlic bread but, again, since we already waited an hour we all just wanted to leave. The decor inside was nice and the menu had a lot of items at reasonable prices, but the service was just not good. My husband would like to give it another try, but we will wait until it is not so busy and they have worked out their kinks. read more

Been to Cheddars twice now and it may be awhile before I will try it again. Servers are not attentive and it takes forever to get food once it is ordered. One visit took 40 minutes to get a burger and fish tacos. The food is cheap which is Great for my family of 5 and some of the items have been good, such as the catfish, the smokehouse burger, and fish tacos. Other items have not been so good such as, the chicken pot pie had crust that was doughy, the ribs were tough, and the pot roast was cold with lots of gravy but no meat. While I enjoy getting a lot of food for little money, I would rather spend a little more someplace else knowing that our food will consistently come out quick and hot. read more

So a 5 minutes wait for a table for two turned into a 40 minute wait. We watched 4 other parties of two that arrived AFTER us get seated before us. Our buzzer never even went off. Yet when we approached the hostess and manager, the looks on their faces made it clear that they knew they screwed up.yet no apology was mad at all. don't know what happened to this place....went right after they opened, and it's been downhill ever since. On our last visit a month ago, had to send steak back twice. The side dishes had NO flavor. Had manager come to table after steak went back the second time...he advised us the the sides, green beans and such came out of a can and they added seasonings. The croissants, which were fantastic several months ago--tasted doughy, not sweet at all, and dripping with greasy unflavored butter. The broccoli/cheese side had no flavor either. Today was our first time dining at Cheddar's. The atmosphere was wonderful. It wasn't crowed at all. The portions were a great size for the price we paid. I was impressed by this. Three words: baked potato soup. The soup was seasoned perfectly, and had just the right amount of bacon, potato, and cheese to make it thick and delicious. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the wait staff was friendly, and very well informed on what they had to offer to eat. I have tried this place a few times. The food is ok, but customers service is terrible! One trip, the waitress' boyfriend was in the restaurant seated at a table across from me in her section, and she spent the majority of her time standing in front of him with him rubbing up on her and them making googly conversation with each other. This went on for about an hour or more, I left when I was done and he was still there. My second trip in people were seated in the booth behind me and allowed to puff on their ecigarettes which ruined my lunch because it smelled like rancid incense burning. My third and final trip in, the waitress was wearing a button that said birthday girl, ok ... that's fine, but then she put a 5X7 card on our table telling us the menu items she liked in an attempt to solicit customers to buy her food for her birthday!!! The food runner didn't ask about drinks when he dropped off our chips & queso and saw an empty table. My husband ordered the 'painkiller' from the bar & that took an additional 5 minutes after a water and a peach sweet tea made it to our table & they weren't refilled until we were done with our entrees, meaning our glasses were empty for 10/15 minutes. The food wasn't as good as I had expected or remembered Cheddars being. The chips in our appetizer were oily and soft & it didn't seem like a correct portion. Hot plates & cold food on the table only makes me think our food was sitting & waiting for us too. No management was seen table touching or talking to guests through out the whole evening. When we were able to order another round of drinks, the same drink from the bar came out with different garnishes and a completely different taste. When we paid our bill with a card the server gave us a different card that belonged to another table back 10 minutes after taking the payment! This is not the first time I have been to Cheddars, they are usually up to par with their services, but today they were not. We arrived at 4:13 to put in our party of 17. We arrive so early because Cheddars does not take reservations, which is odd, and to be ready by 5:00 to get inside. After a hour and fifteen minutes we were finally seated. While the seating arrangement was unconventional we were just happy to be inside the restaurant . It took a while but the appetizers and drinks started rolling in, all but one. It was after all of us had been given our appetizers AND meals was it notified that the one person missing everything would be getting their food shortly. Of course the appetizer was free but it was overall not a good experience. They get two stars because their food is MUCH better than the service. read more

I'm visiting Fayetteville from out of town. I am a fan of the Cheddar's franchise, and this is the worst one I've ever been to. The staff wasn't friendly, or helpful even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. The staff delivered several sets of dirty dishes to my family's table. After the third set they finally delivered dishware without food stains on it. My waiter messed up our food order. The kitchen prepared less than satisfying food for us. There was literally grease dripping off of the chips for our spinach dip. At some point I saw a staff member sweeping the floor, then using the same broom to clean a booth seat. I felt sick after that. I won't be coming to back to this Cheddar's. read more

One star because I couldn't give zero. My husband and I visited on Sunday and the service was horrible. The hostess was very unprofessional. After being led to a dirty table the hostess did wipe it down before was sat, while laughing and engaging in conversation with our soon to be waitress. I ordered a 6oz steak cooked well with no pink and my husband had the New Orleans pasta. My steak arrived on a bed of French fries onions that were saturated in blood from the undercooked steak when I told the waitress she asked it I could put the steak on my appetizer plate which was dirty. She then asked if I want a new steak on the undercooked steak I asked for another on and she informed me the it will "take a long time" because I wanted it well down. Mind you I still had a baked potato and broccoli +bloody onions on the plate she left for me. My husband also asked for extra Alfredo sauce upon receiving his entire...Her response "you want it to go?" She was lost. I asked to speak to a manager several time and she never came. The manger the walked past my table and didn't acknowledge me. The cook then came out with another steak which was also undercooked. I asked to speak to a manger for a third time and she finally came to my table. First thing out of her mouth "is that one not done either?" Which lets me know that she was aware of request to speak to her two times. After about an hour of wasted time we asked for the check for the appetizer and drinks because I'd given up on my steak and I was not going to be eating a cold baked potato and broccoli off of a bloody plate along with another undercooked steak. The waitress came over sat the check on the table didn't look at us never apologized for her horrible service, she just turned away and walked off. Thank God we had cash we could end our trip and wait and hour for a receipt. We did leave the change..... never going back. read more
