Well, I went back because corporate was extremely nice, and to give them another chance. My husband and I went to have lunch at around 1:45pm. We were seated by a very nice young lady. We sat there patiently waiting for te waitress who arrived about 10 minutes later to take our order. Very snappy, and sorry to say, not professional at all. Her exact words were, "You ready boo?" I was a bit stunned, but proceeded to give our order. 3 other tables came in after us. They got their warm bread with saucers before us. We waited. About 5 minutes later, we got bread and no saucers. We waited for her to come back around. About 4 minutes later, she came, I asked for the plates, she said, give me a minute. Meanwhile, she picked trash up off the floor. Finally, we got the plates. Bread was no longer warm. The other 3 tables received their meals. We waited a little while longer. Now, we were getting a little upset. It had been 35 minutes since we entered the door. I asked for a manager and Lori (manager on duty) came out and politely talked with me. She went to the back, came over to our table and kindly said, I'm going to be honest with you. The kitchen has no knowledge of your order and neither does the server. She never put it in. My husband was boiling. Lunch hour just went out the door. Me and my family entered the restaurant at 3:45pm, and was refused to be seated because they were going through a shift change and couldn't seat us for 25 minutes. We walked out, and walked back in after 5 minutes, and was given a table right away (by a different hostess) no hassle what so ever. After 7 minutes we were finally greeted by the waiter. Cheddar's was recommended to me by a friend. The restaurant itself is very clean and unique. Upon entry there is a large fish tank and fan suspended in the air (tricky to describe). We were seated immediately. The waitress met us at the table with a smile. We ordered strawberry lemonades and they are to die for! As an appetizer we ordered the Texas-sized nachos. While we were waiting on our appetizer a manager came and informed us that our appetizer was expected to be done in a minute or so but she would take it off our bill due to the wait (it honestly didn't take that long). I ordered food to go and my husband to pick it up! My ribs and steak were so spicy and I was unable to eat it! I was in a domestic violence situation (with an ex not my husband) so I couldn't call and ended calling the next day! The manager said due to the time and due to the fact I didn't have the food they couldn't do anything about it! Though I expected nothing more upon entering aside from your run-of-the-mill fromagerie, fromagerie it certainly is, though I was bemused by the embarrassment of riches evidenced by their menu. This is no quaint cheese shop as I soon discovered to my unbridled glee. Baba Ghanoush prepared fresh daily. Grilled halloumi and Iranian rice cakes to entice even the finickiest of diners. Middle eastern flair by the yard!! I asked my server, Tyler, for a plate of the finest cheese options for a starter. He bounded back to my table with a ramekin of blue cheese salad dressing. I proceeded to lose myself to the heavenly contents of that ramekin. Surely that humble vessel contained the world entire. Imagine my delight when I slid my knife into my chicken Kiev and rather than streams of butter gushing forth like blood from an avulsion wound, I was greeted with several plump, mouth-watering California raisins, tumbling among my broccoli rabe like a family of pudgy purple shriveled limbless gymnasts. It would have been a five-star experience but for my being pressed into service rescuing a hapless tilapia from the clutches of a menacing lobster. Our food was good, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. We were greeted promptly upon sitting (party of 2 @ approx 1:50PM on a Monday) and requested waters. Waters were delivered less than 5 minutes later and we placed our order (1 appetizer of chips & queso) and 2 entrees. About 20 minutes later our food was delivered (chicken parm & a lunch combo of shrimp pasta and caesar salad). The salad was missing from the order and the gentleman who brought the food (dressed in slacks and a dress shirt, appearing to be a manager) stated he would get it right away. I also informed him that we never received our appetizer and would like it taken off the bill. He let us know he would still bring it out but would take care of removing it from the bill anyways. While the app was removed from the bill, we never received it. We also never got any follow up from the "manager" again (still assuming it was a manager as he certainly wasn't dressed like the waitstaff). Our waitress visited the table immediately after food was delivered, before we'd even taken a bit, to ask how it was. She came on other time to ask the same question but never refilled drink glasses that were empty. She was very prompt with the check and payment. Ultimately there was nothing wrong with our food, but the experience was poor considering the restaurant wasn't busy and there appeared to be plenty of staff around. Planned a surprise dinner for my mother here by recommendation of my sister. I have such mixed reviews on this restaurant. The great debated was whether I give 2 or 3 stars. Finally conceded and went for higher ground. I am not familiar with Fayetteville but the restaurant was located in a pretty busy area. It was visually appealing from the outside. Upon entry, the decor was very nice. There is a large bar area on the other side of the entryway. We were seated in the back for a party of 10. Our drinks were taken and prepared quickly as such our appetizers. The annoying occurrence was the delivery of our entrees that took about 45mins. Our waitress was as hospitable as possible but when you have a big table of hungry patrons that can only carry you so far. Upon delivery of our food, everyone's order was correct and still hot. Came here for the first time for lunch with work colleagues. Party of 5 and we ordered 2 appetizers: cheddar cheese fries and the sampler appetizer. For the entrees, 3 people ordered fish, there was a cajun pasta, and the pasta lasagna dish. For dessert, there was 1 order of chocolate cake that came with 2 scoops of ice cream, and 2 orders of the dessert mini shots- key lim pie and strawberry short cake. Pros - Good size portions. We finished the appetizers, but none of us finished our entrees. All entrees were good portions and no skimping on anything, including the side dishes. Their chocolate cake dessert should definitely be split between 2 people at a minimum! - Good flavor. None of us complained about how the food tasted. I'm a fan of broccoli, so I tried their broccoli casserole as a side dish. It was good and definitely very cheesy and filling. - Good location. It's conveniently located around other restaurants, stores, etc. Cons - Wait time. We made a reservation, because we were a decent sized party. No waiting to get our table, but there was a decent wait to get our food- for both the appetizer and the entrees. The restaurant wasn't completely full, but it was a decent size crowd. I do not recommend coming here really hungry. If you come with an appetite, be prepared to wait. Final Answer I'm willing to come back and I like the food. Arrived at the restaurant at 7pm on a weekday and was told that our party of 7 would have to be split up because they only had 4 and 6 seater booths available (the restaurant was pretty much empty), that left a bad opening impression with the other family that was joining us so they chose to dine somewhere else. Our party of 4 was then sat in the bar area; which for the lack of people in the area was still extremely loud. We placed our orders fairly quickly and our drinks and complimentary rolls were brought to us. Upon receiving our meal, the only thing edible out of our meals was the pasta. The steaks were supposed to be medium but they were overcooked and very stringy and the meatloaf was overcooked and burnt. Mine was to be cooked medium. It arrived cold & well done. I asked the server to take it back. She acted like I put her out to do her job. The next steak also arrived and med well to well in spots. The mac n cheese was warm and tasted good, but the corn was cold. I was hungry & didn't have much time or would have gone elsewhere. So I can't give this place anything higher than three stores. The food is ok, the service is a hit or a miss, the atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice (I love those big fans). I first wanna say that Fayetteville doesn't have many options of satisfactory places to eat. The bigger cities in NC have 4 star worthy tried and true" places to eat. (my tried and true restaurants are places that I know I can go to and find something decent to eat. PF, Cheesecake Factory, The Pit to name a few). So this is my Fayetteville tried and true and I will detail why below. The food is ok. It's not bad, but it's nothing I would go screaming about. When they first opened I was not a fan. The waitstaff was horrible and the food was playing the same tune. Now it seems as if they've gotten the hang of things. When I go to a restaurant and I'm clueless as to what to eat I always get chicken tenders and french fries (My cousin HATES when I do this, but I can be very pick and ten times wasteful if I don't like something. So I usually get something thats not hard to mess up). So the tenders here are oversized, I normally get full off one but that could be because I'm sharing this stomach with someone else. I've never had an issue with the tenders either. I've tried the chicken Alfredo (when they first opened) and it was disgusting, so I've never tried it again. What am I absolutely a fan of?? The broccoli and cheese casserole. Its soooo good but they only give you like a spoonful. I've also tried the lemon pepper chicken and some of my friend's salmon. The salmon was surprisingly good very well while my chicken was overcooked. (The mashed potatoes are yummy and so are the croissants that are at the very bottom of the menu) I anticipate that the other reviews are so high because what you get for the price you pay is really good. But food quality isn't all that. It's a tried and true for Fayetteville because I'm sure to find something here that I'll eat because the menu is so endless. read more

I am sorry to say that Cheddar's, one of my favorite Fayetteville restaurants, has been in a serious decline lately. Today's service was very, very slow; 2 of our orders were submitted incorrectly and the carpet next to our table was covered with crumbs and other meal leavings (it looked like some small children had eaten there). I really was expecting it to be an extravagant and fancy experience based on the attractive outside, but my experience was anything but that. The staff was okay. The customer service wasn't WOW or over the top. I was really disappointed in my husband's chicken that was extremely undercooked and unappetizing. We did send it back and it took them the entire time of me eating my meal for them to recook the chicken and it looked burnt. Wow, this was a hot mess. We arrived at 10 minutes before 2pm on a saturday. We walked to the hostess stand and put in our name. The hostess told us the wait was 30 minutes. We were not allowed to wait in the lobby so we waited outside the building in the heat along with approximately a dozen other people who arrived after us. We watched at least 6 groups leave after dining, while we waited and only 1 group waiting, was taken in for seating. At 35 minutes I went to check and was told there were 2 more groups who would be seated prior. My husband and kids had went in to use the restroom and noticed that there were large sections of the restaurant blocked off to ensure they were not used (Im assuming due to covid 19 restrictions). From our view it appeared that the restaurant was much lower than 50% occupied, closer to 25/30 so the wait seemed excessive especially between 2 and 3pm in the afternoon. The only thing I can think is that maybe they were understaffed. We waited another 5 minutes after speaking with the hostess and decided to leave and head to another restaurant as their are several to choose from in this particular area. read more

It's been a while since I've eaten at Cheddar's but it was actually really good. They may be still understaffed so even during lunch time we had about a 10 minute wait that didn't last long at all. Our server was fast and prompt. She wasn't impatient and she kept us with refills. I didn't care too much for our croissants because they were much more crispier than usual. All in all the food was served hot and delicious. My dad ordered a pecan salad that he would've preferred more with romaine or spring lettuce instead of Iceberg. That was maybe about the only thing that we didn't like but even during Covid they are serving their customers with gratitude. I had the country fried steak with mash potatoes and green beans. I also had an appetizer of the Nachos and Queso with ground beef. First, the appetizer comes with a yellow chesse and salsa. Definitely get it with beef. This was absolutely amazing for the simple dish that it is. The country fried steak was the beef version and I really wanted the chicken so thats on me. The steak was above average. The mash potatoes are terrific but the green beans are the big wax kind so not a fan. Prices are very reasonable. My first experience was in Kentucky where I was first stationed coming from California. Never heard of this place and decided one day to try the pasta because I'm very particular on it and only certain places I'll go for it. It was okay but I adored the side salad. I ended up always coming back just for a side salad only to have waiter/waitress to convince me to order something more. I liked the chicken tenders and for awhile eyed the menu item 'Chicken Tender Salad.' I eventually got it with Ranch and a side of BBQ and now I go there often just for that. The only place I'll eat a salad from. The dessert is not bad but I think it could be better. The chocolate they use is plain but cake is still good with ice-cream. I've had few experiences where I've waited at the booth for awhile or just to get my order taken. The one thing that always changes is how much sauce or chicken tenders I get on the salad. Sometimes its minimal or often enough which I like. I believe though this depends on when you come in because towards dinner I've heard they serve more for a reason. I just don't agree with the anti-firearms sign because obviously people will just walk in anyway and the area I would say is just okay since its not as bad as some of the places I've come from. They allow their wait staff to serve cold food, smack their lips, roll their eyes and disrespect you without following up to see if they could be of any assistance. It was really good and well cooked, they were generous on the cheese and bacon on my fries. Due to the climate right now, I sat outside in my car and ate which was fine. The only things I have to say are there was a small hair on the outside of my to go box and I had to make sure there was none in my food. Also the man that took my order didn't ask how I wanted my burger cooked so I was concerned that they'd cook it a way that I didn't want it cooked.
