I went to this place as a young adult (19) in Okc and it was delicious! That was not my experience this time. I got the chicken fried chicken and it was under cooked and I got sick in result. My Mac n cheese came out cold as ice and my corn as well. They serve the smallest portions for an unfair price. I felt like an adult ordering food and paid adult prices with kids meal portions put in front of me. I barely ate anything and was just upset in general. I told me server that my food was cold and my chicken wasn't cooked all the way through and she seemed to only care about the cold food complaint. She didn't apologize or offer to have it re cooked she just brought me out more cold food which pushed me over the edge. She didn't offer a discount or to give me something completely different when I complained again about my chicken. I asked to talk to a manager because under cooked chicken is unacceptable. No one ever came. We sat there for a good amount of time and it seemed as if our table was just avoided by everyone. I will NEVER go there again, it was pathetic. Folks don't waste your hard earned dollars going to this place. We were so excited when it was announced that Cheddars was coming to Lincoln. What a huge let down. We have been 4 times - three times and your out, but decided to give it one last try. WON'T BE BACK!!!! Place is very loud and totally having some major service problems. By now they should be worked out. Our first trip was two weeks after they opened. We went early and actually got in without any problem. We went with friends and we all ordered drinks. The drinks arrived 30 minutes after we ordered them at which time waiter finally asked about taking our order. We were celebrating our anniversary so wanted a steak dinner with baked potato. It is 5:00 and no baked potato that evening so we all ordered - I ordered steak and shrimp with rice and broccoli. Our orders came 60 minutes later. When my order came I had steak and ribs no rice and no broccoli. Waiter took order back. I told rest of party to go ahead and eat while food was still warm. Finally 20 minutes later my plate came back with two shrimp and steak - still no rice or brocolli. Waiter went back and came out with rice I never did get brocolli. So much for a nice anniversary dinner with friends. Second trip we went with son and daughter-in-law. Again we got seated right away it was only 3:00 in the afternoon so place was really quite. We all ordered a drink and an order of onion rings. Got our drinks in 15 minutes still no onion rings. Waiter keep saying the onion rings will be out soon. Asked if we wanted to place order. We did and all just ordered sandwiches. We got our meals in about 20 minutes - yep still no onion rings. Husband ordered a club sandwich - came out on untoasted bread. What the blazes is going on. He was so frustrated he just told the waiter and went ahead and ate the sandwich. We had finished our meal before the onion rings finally showed. Waiter said they could not take the onion rings offour bill so we sat and visited while we ate the onion rings. My husband was actually still hungry since his club sandwich was so small and not made correctly. Third trip my husband and I got off work early so thought since it was only 4:00 we would give them one last try. Ordered a drink and did get it within 5 minutes. Placed dinner order of nacho's and onion rings. Place had few customers and it took 60 minutes to get our order. Really......... WHY CHEDDARS is your service so slow. My in-laws wanted us to take them to Cheddars so we agreed to give them one last try. This was Saturday evening. We arrived at 4:30 already had a wait however I looked around to see how many empty tables I could see. I saw 6 empty - clean tables but we are waiting. WHY CHEDDARS!!!! Get the people in and get them seated. My mother-in-law can't stand for very long so we ended up at a high top in the bar. It was very noisy we could not even visit. Again we ordered our drinks and onion rings, they actually both showed up at the table within 10 minutes. We all ordered and my husband and I just wanted salads so we each ordered a salad - how can you mess this up? Mine was to come with poppy seed dressing actually came with ranch. At this point I'm done with saying anything to waiter so just ate the salad and vowed to never come back again. Cheddar's is a tasty restaurant, they can be hit and miss, however they are always more than willing to take care of you. I've been there several times. The first time I arrived, I looked at the bar menu, and was ASTOUNDED by the ridiculously low prices on their drinks. $3.50 for a jumbo margarita that is easily 8 dollars anywhere else? Fantastic. Then I saw their menu. Also cheap! Every time I have gone, I have ordered their queso with beef, and it was delicious. For $3.99 you would expect it to be terrible? But it was great. I got the Cajun Pasta then. Which naturally comes with sausage, chicken, and some sort of seafood. I hate seafood, so I talked to the waiter. Our server talked to the manager, and they substituted extra chicken for me, it was really good, BUT CRAZY SPICY. I understand it's cajun, but a lot of restaurants that are chain style, don't really get that emphasis. Cheddar's does. :) I also have ordered the Spagsana, their signature meal, and that was one of the best things I have ever eaten, in my life. I have only had one bad experiance, when I ordered Chicken & Waffles. The waffle came out dry, and the chicken was too hard. I told our server, and immediately the chef strolled out and removed out plates and said he'd take them off our bill, and even remake us new food free of charge. I was impressed with his tenacidy, although I opted for some potato soup rather than a meal. The best potato soup I have ever had. The low prices pretty much made up for the bad meal. The manager only made me pay for my partner & I's drinks. After he removed our waffles, he went a little crazy with the bill. Side salad, potato soup, 4 margaritas, and an onion ring sampler came to $24.00, it was delightful. All in all, I am quite excited to Cheddar's later tonight!! :) read more

We came at 6:30 on fathers day, we have been here many times before, but this will be our last visit. We ordered and waited for our food for quite a while (didn't time it, never had a service problem here before, at least 25 min). When we received our food, 3 of the peoples drinks at our table were empty and the waitress said she would bring us more, we never got them. My wife was supposed to get garlic bread with her meal, waitress said it was on the way, it never arrived. My sister asked for 57 sauce to go with her steak, never arrived. Waitress stated they were out of green beans and broccoli, people were getting both on our way out. This will be our last visit, we have had great experiences here in the past, but this is all completely unacceptable. read more

Ever since they changed the menu and name the food sucked when my husband and I went. The service was also bad.

This is 1 of my favorite places to go eat on the weekend. Love there mashed potatoes and there ultimate nachos. Service is great.

Literally everything came out wrong. Server was clueless. I ordered no tomatoes on my meal, it came with tomatoes and the server said "Can't you just pick around those?" I couldn't believe it. I waited quite awhile for a lunch time that the parking lot wasn't already overflowing before I actually went into Cheddars. The wait was reasonable for as many customers as they had about 15 mins. Waitstaff was friendly and the food good. Just don't ever go there by yourself for a meal if there is any chance that you might have to use the bathroom. I got about half way through my dessert when I had to visit the restroom. Of course I took my purse with me because there was nobody at the table to keep an eye on it. When I finished in the bathroom and came back out to my table they had already cleared my dishes (along with 1/2 my dessert away) and cleaned off the table leaving only the bill on it. read more

I can understand that newness to the area can cause long waits to get seated but a restaurant shoild be able to serve all of the seated customers without long delays. If not that is a management issue not a popularity issue. Tonight after waiting 45 minutes to be seated which was fine because we were told about an hour,our party of six adults one eight year old and a highchair baby were put in a booth that we immediately told the server that there was inadequate room for four people on one side of the booth. His reply was that we would have to wait another 45 minutes for a larger table. What?! We had inordinate amounts of time waiting to order, waiting for our food, waiting to get our check (and then he just walked away while I was getting my credit card out) and I waited another 5 minutes before I could hand him the check. Two and one half hours after we were handed our pager we finally walked out of the restaurant. Almost all of the food was great (the half pound burger was horrible cosidering a 4.50 price with nothing with it) and I was satisfied with almost all of the pricing. Service really needs to improve. Tonight was the second time that my boyfriend and I have gone to cheddars. Both times that we have gone in we have been served cold food and they only thing they do is REMICROWAVE our food. Neither times have they offered to discount our food. Servers acted like they did not even want to be at work. After tonight i never plan to go back to this place. read more

Let me start by saying this is the 5th or 6th time I have been to Cheddar's and have always found the food to be good. But each time i return I care less and less for the atmosphere or the layout. The acoustics in any of the 3 dining areas leave a lot to be desired as the noise level can become very loud with a lot of echo. If you want to have a conversation with anyone else at your table you will need to speak up. If you go to use the restrooms you will need to be aware where you walk as the wait staff tends to congregate in front of the doorway and it feels like you have gone through a scrimmage line before you reach this destination. It also seems that there must have a quota on number of times they turn customers at any table. If you are going for a relaxed atmosphere and conversation after a meal this is not the place. I will come back again if it is chosen by my dining companions as the food is good. If it my choice I will definitely go someplace else as I feel the only thing welcome there is my money. . read more

My family and I have eaten here a number of times in the last few months in a group or individually. Even when the place is packed the staff have been very friendly and our wait staff has been so friendly, helpful and efficient. If we have had questions on ingredients (one child has allergies) the waitress happily and promptly found the answers to our questions. One time one entree was cold in the middle, our waitress apologized, reported to the kitchen and within a few minutes the chef brought a new, steamy hot entree out and apologized for the previous entree. The prices are reasonable, portions good, decor is pretty. And when needed, the bathrooms were clean. read more

This is the prime example as to why chain restaurants aren't always a sure thing! I have eaten there 3 times and it seems the service and food has gone down profusely since they opened. I've been here a few times and it's always been pretty good. The food portions have never been huge but are reasonably priced. The margaritas, on the other hand, are quite large. Ordering one at the beginning of your visit is usually enough to last you through your entire meal. The monster cookie dessert is delicious and is large enough to share with at least one other person. read more

The food was awesome but it is really a mood killer when you walk in and 6 employees stare at you from the hostess stand and not say a word. Got the feeling I was bothering them no smiles or welcomes. I ate here Wednesday evening & waiter said no Windsor coke drink, so ordered a Jack Coke. Wow they don't have a charcoal filter for chlorine! Could not taste the Jack. Then ordered a chicken steak. It came from a deep fat fryer as could tell. The coating fell off before could eat. Then i ordered same time a baked potato with graded cheese it came with sour cream then cheese on top. If wanted sour cream it normally a side you add. Not here. Over all bought 3 meals cost $40+ & what a disappointment! I been here 3 times before & never was this disappointed! Think they need to fix anything with soda fountain get a charcoal filter so taste what order. Then the cooks need to slow down so what order is done right. Where do I begin! We finally had a Saturday night off together. We used to go to Cheddars in Denver so we thought we would give it a try! We chose to get a booth in the bar area. The table was sticky. The one bartender was also our server. He was very rushed with us even though he only had 4 patrons at the bar. By the time he took both of our orders he had forgotten what I ordered. He walked away while we were still trying to order. We would have ordered an appetizer and salad to eat before our meals but he didn't seem interested long enough to let us finish ordering. Our drinks sat empty before our meals came and whoever delivered our entrees didn't bother asking to refill them. The staff stood around the bar watching the football game to where we couldn't even see the tv ourselves. We waited a bit for someone to acknowledge the fact that we were ready for our check as our empty plates sat stacked at the edge of our table. Thank goodness the food was good! That's why they get 1 star. Kudos to the kitchen! Then as we are leaving the host was sitting on the bench playing on her phone. We never saw a manager and it's probably a good thing because by the time we left we were pretty mad about the entire experience. Never going back or recommending! read more

My family went to dinner tonight to celebrate my father's birthday. We ordered a grilled cheese kids meal for my daughter. Both sides were burnt when they brought it out. I asked the waitress if we could get one that wasn't burnt. She took it back to the kitchen and like 2 minutes later brought out a "new one". They had taken the one we sent back took chunks out of part of one side of it to make it not look burnt anymore. Didn't think to do anything to the burnt other side and brought it back to us. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was very unprofessional looking manager wearing a backwards hat. Not sure he was really the manager. He told me oh we threw the other one away. This is a new one. Was such a lie!!! Then he argued about it not being burnt. Black grilled cheese is burnt! Not even an I'm sorry. We finally got a new one brought out that wasn't burnt but had to have a scene made to get it. Worst grilled cheese and management I have ever encountered. read more

If I could give no stars on this review I would. My wife and I just went to Cheddar's in Lincoln, and we had a horrible experience. Our initial experience when we walked in was positive (we liked the bartender, the decor was nice, etc.) but when we sat down at the table everything went wrong. After 25 minutes of being ignored by the entire wait staff (we were seated right next to the waiter station) our waitress finally made an appearance at the next table. They were complaining about their check being wrong, the long wait, and had obviously had a bad experience. After they had fled the restaurant without being helped by a manager, our waitress finally took our drink order. We went ahead and placed our food order as well to save some time. After another 15 minutes of being ignored by everyone, and our waitress having still not brought us even a glass of water, we gave up and left. We complained to the manager, who knew immediately who our waitress was but was obviously doing nothing to help her out. While we were waiting to speak to said manager, and before we had officially left the restaurant, someone else was seated at our table as if we had never existed (much like our meal.) I was looking forward to trying this new restaurant, but I might wait about 10 years to let it mature a bit. They might not be there if they keep treating people like this... read more

The food was decent tasting, good portions and I thought reasonably priced so there's soe promise here. I thought the noise level was more like a sports bar than a restaurant and my overall impression of the staff was not very professional/poorly trained. The food was warm at best and we waited a long time for it to get to room temp before they brought it out. The most interesting past of our experience was when they brought out my daughter's meal then told us we were on separate tickets in the kitchen because our party was so big (7). What that meant to us was that my daughter ate her meal while we watched then we got our food when she was pretty much done with hers. When we did finally get our food it was warm or room temp. Steak was overdone and room temp. Not impressed overall, however, if you want a cheaper meal and willing to put up problems that aren't yours and room temperature food then enjoy your dinner at Cheddars. I will go back in a few months to see if they've fixed their issues. If not, I prefer to spend my money at establishments that train their staff better. read more

We ate at this Cheddars while on vacation. My party of 8, which included 4 kids, had a horrible experience. It all started when the waiter attempted to balance the tray of drinks on the edge of our table. It shockingly (!) ended up on the floor next to me and all over the highchair my daughter was supposed to sit in. Thank goodness I hadn't put her in it yet! My bare legs, feet and shoes were also covered with milk and lemonade. The waiter then proceeded to get towels to wipe up the floor. It took him about 10-15 minutes to clean it all up. Sort of. It was still a huge mess. We sat there and watched him, wondering why he didn't take our order, get us more drinks or offer me something to clean my legs. He mumbled an apology a few times and some other random employee apologized and brought out our drinks for us. Two of our 8 meals were brought out a full 10 minutes before the rest. A HUGE no-no in the restaurant world! My husband's side salad was delivered after his entree and the waiter didn't have a clue where to put it. His chicken pot-pie was burned on the top. My daughter didn't get her garlic bread, which came with her meal. The waiter also neglected to refill two of our drinks. Never even asked although he asked the other 6 people. We divided the bill into two checks and both parties paid with cash. The waiter took 10 minutes to get our change and actually brought back incorrect change. We eventually figured out that he gave one of us the coin change that belonged to the other check. We were there for almost 2 hours and my kids were getting super restless by the time we left. Thankfully they didn't freak out! I complained online and was received a call from the manager who apologized profusely and made it clear the waiter messed up. He offered me gift cards, although there is not a Cheddars in my hometown. read more

My boyfriend and I went to cheddars after a couple of friends recommend it to us, the decor was very nice and our waitress was extremely polite and professional. Sadly those are the only good things about eating at this greasy hellhole. We both had the chicken fried steak which was soggy and so tough we could hardly chew through it. In addition we were seated next to a group of extremely obnoxious teenagers who were very obviously drunk...throughout our short stay they continually flung food at us and and threatened to assault me when I asked them to stop. By that point our dining experience was ruined and we were both too disgusted to eat another bite. Before we left we spoke to a manager who could have cared less about the horrible food quality or intoxicated minors barraging us with racial slurs/death threats. In the end we were offered a discount and a half-hearted "sorry". As we left the group of kids shouted homophobic slurs at us and one attempted to follow us outside all while the same manager stood by and did nothing. Our lives were threatened and we may very well have food poisoning now from the awful meal. By far the most unpleasant dining experience my boyfriend and I have ever had. DO NOT EAT HERE. read more
