Really yummy burgers and homemade brewed sweet tea. I had the bacon cheeseburger without buns and instead of fries, I had them substituted with the Southern green beans which were really good. I wanted to give this restaurant a second chance, but fool me twice. The wait time for holiday and non holidays are atrocious. The food isn't that fantastic to wait over one hour and 30 mins seated! I will not be here a third time Cheddar's. Also, the waiters don't even care. I asked the waitress when our food was coming out. She replied," Oh I don't know, I didn't even look". My first visit to Cheddar's was for lunch on a weekday. We were seated quickly and our waitress was super attentive and friendly. I ordered the fish tacos with the glazed croissants as an appetizer, the croissants were nice but the corn salsa in the fish dish was a little too sweet in my opinion and very messy to eat the fish was seasoned well. I enjoyed the little desserts in the shot glasses. The atmosphere is typical chain restaurant with TVs playing sports...ugh but what can you do! ;-) read more

The eastern US is littered with Cheddar's restaurants. For those who don't venture outside McDonough, this is a major chain that comes with good and poor points. On a positive note, this is one of the better Cheddar's we've been to over the years. The service is adequate, the place remains clean and is affordable whether your paying for one or eight. That's the great value here, price. Cheddar's is almost too cheap for what they offer. While the quality of food is around par with Applebees, Fridays and Chilis, the same meal here costs much less. In fact, it might taste a tad better tat Cheddar's. Let's not mistaken this for a great place to eat. The food is average chain stuff. It's low grade, but somehow this chain finds a way to make it taste better than at their competitors. It says all the food is homemade, but doesn't taste that way. Still, I think you'll enjoy a meal here and will be ecstatic is you like the food at Chilis. My favorite meal is the grilled catfish (blackened), but the chicken fried chicken isn't bad either, nor is the lemon pepper chicken or chicken pot pie. Really, there's nothing on the menu that isn't fair here. They do a wonderful job at making average food taste great and for a tremendous value. read more

Second time here after lackluster first time. Thought it would be better... It wasn't. 1. Waited 30 mins on a Sat night... Reasonable and understandable. Actually pleased that the wait was that short. 2. Ordered Nachos for appetizer, took exactly 38 mins to arrive at table. The appetizer plates came a few minutes after and we're dirty. 3. Main meal arrived exactly 4 mins after the Nachos appetizer. 4. Meal 1 was decent, cooked well but limited flavor. Meal 2 was under cooked. Meal 3 was under cooked. Meal 4 was over cooked. 5. Our server, Tiffany, was very apologetic and courteous. Bottom line, it was busy as expected but the experience and food were no where near acceptable. I visited this location a few days ago (August 6,2015). I usually enjoy eating at Cheddars;however, I was disappointed this time. Our waitress never took drink orders. We asked the waitress if we could start with the honey butter croissants and were told it would be 40 minutes because they were out. I'm not sure why it was going to take so long, but we asked her to put in the order and we would have them as dessert. My mother asked how spicy the buffalo chicken was, to which the waitress answered, "it's buffalo chicken." My mother asked again, specifying if it was mild, medium, or hot. The waitress started talking about how hot Tabasco sauce is-- which is not an ingredient in the buffalo sauce. After placing our orders, we didn't see our waitress again. She even got our orders wrong and left off things we asked for. After we finished eating, we noticed a table beside us have an order of croissants delivered to their table. Finally, the waitress came over to check on us and we asked about the croissants. She said they were still out even though the table beside us clearly had some. We asked again once our tickets we given to us, and she lied again. read more

The service is a hit or miss. The food is decently priced for how much is served. Cleanliness is a big issue at this restaurant. Witnessed a bartender wipe down a counter with a dirty rag then continue to grab cut pineapple pieces with her bare hands. Also watched as a bartender dipped a cup and his hand into a tub of premade Painkiller. After that- I stopped ordering anything but water. I put in a complaint on their website and never heard anything back. I don't think they really care about making sure they make anyone sick with their unsafe practices. The food is great comfort food. Large portions. Some days we have horrible service some days great. Like any place you go. Even if our wait person isn't the best they are still very apologetic and nice. We usually stop here after church and just barely miss the rush. There was a lot of hype about this restaurant from so many people, so the long wait was a bit easier in anticipation of a great meal. Apparently, all the hype was more centered on the prices than the actual quality of the food and service. I was very underwhelmed by the food quality. I'd heard the chicken tenders compared to others that I find tasty. The only thing their fingers had on the others was size. And, bigger is not always better. Because this place is so poorly managed, customers had to wait 1.5 HOURS for a table even tho there was an entire section in the back that was empty. The staff is extremely slow and therefore, tables get turned slowly. After waiting 20 minutes for a server to come to our table, we left. Will never come back here. read more

So I tried Cheddar's tonight. I sat and my server took my order quickly. I received my drink and a salad in timely fashion. That's when the wheels fell off.... my dinner the didn't come... my server was preoccupied with visiting with other employees right in front of my table and didn't check back or go check on my dinner for a very long time. When she did glance at my table she said she would go check on my order. I ask her to please cancel it if it wasn't ready ( I had waited over 40 minutes this point ). She brought me the order and it had two very small pieces of chicken breast ( each maybe the size of less than 1/2 a breast ) a small baked potato and some rice. They all appeared to have been sitting for a while. I sent them all back and ask for a check. Total time just under an hour... I then went across the parking lot to "The Juicy Crab". Excellent Food, Service and total time for meal including an appetizer was just under an hour start to finish. read more

Really enjoyed dinner here. Relaxed atmosphere and good food. I had the chicken pecan salad which was large and quite tasty! I couldn't finish it. My husband had the catfish which he enjoyed. Good customer service but I am not satisfied at all with the food! I ordered the whitefish with rice, Mac and cheese. The fish LOOKED very well seasoned but tasted like absolutely nothing, the rice was just ok and the Mac was nothing to write home about. On top of the wait our food was almost cold, it was reheated and nothing was warmer except for the tasteless fish! I have heard good things about this food but I am not impressed at all! Cheddars use to be so good but I've been let down recently. I've given about 3 chances. My last visit 12 May and I will not be returning. We waited 30 minutes just for someone to take my drink order. At least they gave us free croissants (best thing on the menu) My boyfriend ordered his steak medium well and it was well done and dry. I met Cheddars in Asheville, NC. THEN they built one literally a mile and a half from my house. THIS PLACE IS ALWAYS CROWDED. It's a cafe in the sense that prices are really really cheap and that's why it's really crowded. You can get shrimp and ribs for $12 at dinnertime. Where else can you do that! It's American food. Salads. Sandwiches. Burgers. Seafood. Nothing too exclusive but plenty of options to please the table. If you want an inexpensive yet still filling and healthy meal I definitely suggest you pack your patience and add your name to the wait list. read more
