We didn't really get what most park she would just because we went the Saturday before Mother's Day. The waiter was as attentive as he probably could but they were truly understaffed if that's the case. We were 8 ppl stuffed in a booth. Arrived and the wait was stated for 15 to 20 minutes (arrived sometime after 5 and before 6 pm). It was actually 45 mins. Then we were finally seated to wait again an additional 1 1/2 almost 2 hrs. Our party was of 9 at our immediate table, then 6 at another table (for some darn reason the bride and groom to be did not book reservations for their rehearsal dinner elsewhere). I had to ask 1 time to waitress to bring my 4 yr old daughter's food out first that was only fries and vanilla ice cream.....all freaking night. Drove over an hour for birthday dinner, had heard food was good. Got in after 1 1/2 wait. Order a drink, they were out of part of the mix, so had to go with something else. This restaurant is extremely short staffed. Only 2 servers for the entire restaurant at lunch. Kitchen is also short staffed so don't bother coming in unless you have plenty of time. Went to Cheddars for some grilled salmon. The atmosphere is exactly what McDonough needed since other nearby restaurants are the usual, casual dining fare found elsewhere (Red Lobster, Longhorn, Olive Garden, etc....). Cheddar's is a little-known place in this part of Georgia that has gorgeous interiors with cool looking leaf fans (they're awesome....go check 'em out). I've been to a few of their restaurants in different places, and I'm always pleased with their service. This one is surely going to please many. Oh, be sure to try their honey butter croissants!! They do give you 2 condiment cups full of dressing though.. a little overboard, honestly.. but whatever. The soup was really good.. to the point that I had to stop myself from licking the bowl, and using my fingers because there were children at the table. Creamy, starchy, savory, delicious goodness. Oh yea, and I had queso. Very tasty.. but needs to be in a bigger bowl. GIVE ME MORE CHEESE, YOU'RE NAMED AFTER CHEESE. The chips were either fresh and crunchy or maaaaaybe a little oddly cooked. I wanted to like this place but the nice interior is pretty much all it has going for it. Got seated at a dirty table with trash all over the carpet under the table. My husband had to let a manager know bc their staff didnt even notice it. Large napkins and food waste, so it's not like we were looking hard. It was quite obvious. My husband's chicken alfredo came out cold and dry. Even the bottom of the bowl was cold so I have no idea how it was even cooked. My food gave me the worst impression by far. I ordered the key west shrimp and chicken and there were shrimp tails looked like someone bit into the shrimp and left the tails behind and I also noticed some pieces of pasta in my plate...but it's not a pasta dish. The chicken and shrimp were laid over the rice. So where did the past come from? I don't want to believe that they took leftover shrimp from another dish and put them on mine bc that would just be sickening. Then there were the usual flops, took a long time to seat us, slow service, forgot SEVERAL items when bringing out our orders. There were 5 of us and we all ended up eating at different times because if we would've waited foe my husband's remake to come out everyone else's food would've gotten cold. As a rule I generally avoid reviewing giant multiple state chain restaurants. After all, most people know what they are expecting before they head in. Cheddar's, however, has broken this rule a bit. Everyone in this area seems to be talking about this place, and it stays packed out. While it is good, it is just another giant chain. I ordered the grilled salmon with some asparagus. The salmon was good, but it failed to be special. At least they make it healthy. The asparagus was overcooked and tasted exactly like what you would get at any other giant chain. Basically, McDonough now has another Chili's or Applebees type restaurant. You can find better food if you look, but most people aren't willing to look. That is sad indeed. read more

My bf says "well, theyre not trying to get you drunk" LOL he thought it was good idea to limit the alcohol intake. Eh, whatev. I decided to slide my straw up to the top to see what these specs of brown stuff was in my drink lol who knew that pineapple and cinnamon would taste so good?? The Painkiller is a blend of coconut, pineapple and vodka. The glass that it comes in is huge and drizzled with toasted pineapple crunch...or whatever the hell it was it was the best thing in/on the glass. I wanted to lick that glass! Ok, on to the food...for the started we shared the Texas Fries / Bacon on the side [for him]. I asked him to pick the starter...why? lol Although I die for French Fries, they were a little greasy. I think I was expecting nacho cheese and not melted shredded cheese as the topping. The ranch dip that it came with was good. For my entrée, I ordered the Shrimp Platter with Broccoli Casserole and Cole Slaw. It came with about 9 big pieces of shrimp. The breading was too much for the shrimp tho. They could go a little easier on it. I thought the Broc Casserole was too starchy. They def added too much flour to the mix and I didn't like that. My beau ordered the Shrimp & Rib Combo with Corn and Broccoli Casserole. He wish he had ordered the Ribs & Steak minus the Casserole. I kinda talked him out of it because I thought it was just too much meat in one sitting. Oops. The corn was a little to sweet for my taste and his, surprisingly. He also stated that the tea wasn't that sweet. One thing that I did notice was that the waitress brought him another sweet tea before his first glass was half empty. We ordered the croissants and those were decent. We split one and took the other two home. Like everyone else says, the portions are pretty big so we had 3 boxes filled with food that we couldn't bare to finish. So here's why I really gave this place a 3 and not a 2. I really wanted to give them a chance. Although the food was tasty, I think it made me sick. I got home and wasn't feeling well. I thought that it could have been the mixture of the Painkiller and the food because I didn't drink water with my meal but that wasn't it. I ate the leftovers the following day and got sick again. Hmmm...not really sure what that's about but part of me wants to try this place again because the value for the food was good, the atmosphere was good, the food was decent but the other part of me is saying eh, been there done that. I may give this place one more try and just order something else. While we were waiting on our food, my conversation started with "they say..." He goes "who is they?". "The yelpers," I explained. Cheddars is yet another example of the endless line of bland American restaurant chains like Chili's, Applebee's, TGI Friday's, Longhorn, O'Charley's, etc. If you're hungry for a hamburger, or chicken tenders, or grilled chicken, they can hook you up. To be fair, they do have a few more interesting choices on the menu like edamame, chicken & waffles, and shepherd's pie, but on this visit, my family and I stuck with the tried and true. Service was slow, the burgers were plain, and the chicken tenders would probably be better named "fried chewies." Like some others have already posted, this place is packed on the weekends. People are crammed into the waiting area. People are crammed between the inner and outer doors. People are standing around the patio... and this was at 2 PM. Be prepared for a wait. Ours was 30 minutes or so. So if the food is blah, what's their secret? I think it's documented at the top of their web page. "Exceptional value." While I'd beg to differ with their definition of the word "value", if you translate it as "cheap", I think you've hit the nail on the head. Just about every menu item is priced two or three dollars less than their competitors. I went with a party of five adults and three children and we got out for just over $80, including tip. So all in all, I don't see myself going back, but if you're going to chow down on a meal you'll forget 10 minutes after you walk out the door, at least at Cheddar's, you won't pay a lot for it. read more

Just know that the "roast beef" is really veal. The roast beef at Cheddar's Cafe Mcdonough, GA showed up looking extremely pale, and I thought I had been served roast pork instead of beef. We had been thinking about trying this place for a while, but there was always a long wait. When we finally did go we were rather disappointed. The food was not that good or special. Based on what our server told us, there were many items they were out of or substituting something else for. Beware that some of the items listed on the menu as beef are actually veal. To some this is not a big deal, but it is to me. The menu was nothing special. Lot's of "homestyle" items. If I want shepherd's pie and meatloaf I will just stay home. I visited this restaurant Saturday, July 12, 2014 for my little sister's birthday, and I do not recommend eating at this establishment. My son nearly choked on a mozzarella stick and he vomited all over himself and on the table. He 's no baby, mind you, but he'd eaten only one half of the mozzarella stick when the incident occurred.The manager came over after I took my son to the restroom to calm him and clean him (My son was fine once we got him all the way together). I asked the manager to take the mozzarella sticks away and off of our order because no one was going to eat them. The manager, initially, refused, saying that nothing was wrong with the mozzarella sticks. True, but the mere fact that my son had literally choked was enough for me not to want to even see them. The manager was not sympathetic at all, and I was in no mood to argue with him. We placed our orders with our appetizer so nothing other than that had come to the table. Because the manager was unrelenting, I told him to cancel the remainder: entrees, beverages, sides. The restaurant lost more than $30 over a $5.99 appetizer. There are too many restaurants in the Atlanta area to choose from, therefore I refuse to be handled in the manner to which I was subjected. I will NOT return. read more

If you're complaining about waiting two hours for a seat, you're not smart enough to eat elsewhere & come another day. The food was a-ok for a chain, and the building smelled good (I can immediately detect gross kitchen or bathroom smells in many places). The service was exceptional! If your server was rude, grow up and talk to a manager. Speaking I managers, the manager here came to each table to chat with patrons. At 1pm on a Tuesday. We had an attentive, friendly, fast server, and I don't think I've ever been served more quickly at a sit-down. Both of us picked blacken Salmon with a side of bourbon Sause, Mac & cheese and butte corn completed the meal, salmon was cooked to perfection but the corn was awesome, smooth buttery flavor. The bar staff didn't appear to make it their busy to be attentive to all guest. They seemed more focused on the potential tipping paying guest than us. While waiting I noticed alot of people almost falling on the way to the restroom. The floor was not clean. There was mushed up food all of the food. As well as beer tops.
