This was my first visit here. Upon our arrival, we weren't promptly greeted, we had to wait for the hostess to finish what he was doing. Of course when he was done, he looked up to say, "welcome to cheddars." Our server was prompt. She came quickly and took our orders. The food came quickly. The waitress was amazing, going above and beyond from to go refills, boxes, extra sauces for everyone individual plates. Super impressed. Tried this place before and was very dissatisfied. Got asked to go again and said hey why not it might be better this time. So we didn't have to make a reservation even during COVID. So that was a relief! So this new thing with getting Honey Butter Croissants.....OMG IT WAS SO GOOD I WANT IT AS A FULL MEAL. So the menu is limited and last time I had the cheddar bacon burger(before Covid) which was extremely dry and flavorless so I made sure I did not order that. I tried the strawberry daiquiri which was ehh just a nice drink nothing too crazy. My friend however did try the Maui Margarita with cactus juice, it was good for a person who is a tequila drinker(not me but was good). Waitress was super nice and friendly service was everywhere from staff, I loved the personal masks everyone had. Just keep in mind when going to the bathroom there's NO water or soap just hand sanitizerso I was a little uncomfortable about that. I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken tenders with double fries. It was okay nothing to hot or flavorful just a very fried crunchy flavor being the actual taste besides the buffalo sauce. They apparently made most of their food so the sauce was not store bought. I walked into Cheddars not knowing what to expect. Mystery and the smell of warm cheese filled the air and I must say, the scrumptious odor had my precious jowls filled with new saliva. After my party and I took our seat we were treated with ice waters. I pressed the glass to my paunch lips, the moisture entered my mouth cooling my dry tongue. The lemon slice was a nice touch. There were many delectable looking delights ordered that night at our Cheddars table but I can only speak about what I personally tasted. I sampled a few mouthfuls of the spinach dip. The cheese was warm and salty and made my glands swell. I licked the oily spinach bits from my fingertips. Ahhh that's good. I order a half rack of ribs, grilled shrimp, a loaded baked potato with a small dish full of warm slaw. When the food arrived I tore feverishly into the ribs. The juicy pink flesh pealed easily from the bone like tendrils of string cheese. My lips smacked, wet from the sauce and wanting more. Next my potato. Split down the middle it appeared to be grinning at me, its innards overflowing with melted cheddar and warm sour cream. I couldn't wait another second. I snatched that little potato and bit into its soft wet mass. "Yummy yummy." I thought to myself mischievously as I looked around the table at the other potato-less members of my group. The potato was to die for. And I would. A thousand times I would. And that was the secret I held as I gobbled down the rest of the greasy starch. The shrimps were ok. Finally, the warm slaw was all that was left. One tiny dish of tepid cabbage, carrots and corn luxuriating in cream was all that stood between me and final gastric nirvana. I lowered my jowls, like two filled wine skins to the plastic dish and slurped the lukewarm slaw into my needy gullet. Finished, I picked up my sauce-stained napkin and dabbed my swollen lips. I did it. I ate at Cheddars. And I will be back. Overall the food was ok. Kind of like an Applebee's or a Sizzler. I gave it 3 stars. read more

I visited Cheddars to celebrate my birthday today with my family. I began by ordering a Sangria Texas Frozen Swirl. When the alcoholic beverage came to the table I found an eyebrow hair in my drink. I told the waitress about the hair and she promised to bring back a new one. The drink she retuned was stirred around and not the same as the one I was originally presented with. I felt as if the hair had been removed and I was given the same drink. To make matters worse, I ordered the Chicken Tenders and Shrimp combo with broccoli casserole and Macaroni and cheese as my entree. My food came back with two large blonde and black hairs. I have attached a picture of the hair in the food. I was extremely disturbed and disgusted. The manager Brent said that all restaurants accidentally place hair in their food. I could not believe that he made this statement excusing what had just happened. As a manager in a restaurant, hair in food is usually against all health standards. He was not accommodating towards me or my family. I was completely frustrated. I will not be returning to Cheddars and I don't think anyone else should either. The owners should take responsibility to teach their staff how to communicate to customers and the importance of food safety. read more

Came here for lunch on a Saturday after doing some shopping. I was with a party of 4 and we were all starving! We ordered a few appetizers: onion rings-they were stacked and delicious! Chicken quesadillas-4 slices and the chicken was shredded. It lacked a little flavor but it was dressed with bacon, tomato and cheese. We also shared Honey Butter croissants. It came with an order of 4. They were hot, fluffy and buttery! Strawberry lemonade was my drink after I sent my coke back. My coke was flat and watery. The strawberry lemonade was tart, with lots of strawberries in it! I loved it..my entree was ribs & sirloin steak. Unfortunately the steak wasn't really seasoned and the ribs were super tough! I enjoyed the loaded baked potato and broccoli casserole though. For dessert I ordered an apple pie with vanilla ice cream to share with everyone. The crust was crispy and the apple was hot. The vanilla ice cream was perfect to cancel out the sweetness. The prices were relatively cheap. Our server was superb! It's a good little family restaurant with a variety of menu items. read more

So I've been seeing complaints on social media about how bad the restaurant has fallen ,but I chocked it up as normal bitchy people who complain .This is probably the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant since it opened. First I'll address the menu.. I know that the COVID shutdown affected a lot of businesses ,but when you sit down at one of your favorite restaurants and EVERYTHING you order has been removed from the menu even the amazing onion rings, it kills your dining experience from the start. Now once we sifted through the menu and ordered our family's dinner that's when the fun began. One meal was the 1/2 rack of ribs and a 6oz sirloin that was upgraded to 8oz cooked medium with broccoli casserole , steamed broccoli and house salad. The salad wasn't made , the sirloin was 2oz cooked "beyond well done" and a dried baked potato instead of the broccoli. Another meal was grilled chicken with extra fries NO RICE. It came with a few fries and the rice. A 6oz sirloin cooked medium but came cooked shoe leather dry . One of our family members is a big man and this is the first time I've ever seen him leave food on a plate when he left a restaurant. I've never have said this in any review, but this was DEFINITELY OUR LAST meal at this restaurant . We're on a strict budget so our family outings are few . So when you drop almost $100 on a poo meal it's tough to swallow..The manager was extremely nice and they did get the grilled cheese right for our 5 year old. The girl only had two tables, us and one right next to us. For one, it took 25 minutes to get our drinks. The server really didnt seem to care. Didnt check on us. Got our appetizer 30 minutes later. Never asked us if we wanted refills. I had to get a manager just to get a freaking refill on tea. Our orders were all messed up, the server forgot all our sides. I was going to ask for more drink,ranch, napkins but the b**** just walked away! I was livid. Thanks to a friend who worked there got us everything we needed. I have never in my life stiffed a server on a tip but she did NOT deserve it. But besides the awful service the food and drinks we DELICIOUS!! Customer service is absolutely horrible! I've called to have food picked up twice and both times the staff missed the mark. I could get really nit-picky with every detail, but I won't. Communication between the kitchen and bar where food is picked up must be non-existent. Not only did the young lady have to go back and forth, there was food missing off my plate. I ordered chicken Alfredo (there was no chicken) and the food was so cold to the touch! I know for a fact it had to be cooked a day or two ago. I was happy to find a Cheddars on my way through to New Orleans. We used to go back when we lived in Illinois. No Cajun food that I saw on the menu and the cheese soup is strangely gone now. But otherwise it's a very affordable and attractive restaurant with good food. Spasagna is still in the menu! Make sure you order some honey butter croissants before the meal. Yum. I had a Monte Cristo, which is a battered and fried sandwich, sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with raspberry jelly and a side. I got French fries and they were also great. read more

Ordered the chips with salsa and cheese for the appetizer, very delicious. Could have eaten it as a meal on it's own. For my entree, I ordered the Ribs, boy was that filling! Recommend ordering the half-rack, just as filling as the full rack (and you won't look foolish like I did because I assumed it would be a small serving like other places!) Great atmosphere, I ordered the peach tea from the bar, drink was a bit on the sweet-side, ended up switching it for a water. We stopped on our way to our vacation destination. I didn't read the reviews first. I'm glad I didn't. We had a delightful meal and wonderful service. The portions were large. Cockroach in salad! Its a shame because we had wonderful meal, paid and packed up our leftovers when a cockroach waltzed out of my salad. I screamed and the waitress removed the salad. The Manager apologized but did not offer to pay for the meal. We exited with out leftovers even though I had the creeps big time. I made it about 2/3's of the way back to Gulfport before I got sick. Hate to even give 1 star because of the service of this terrible restaurant. We questioned about why there was bacon in the potato soup and it was listed for a vegetarian plate. My husband said " the bacon makes it non-vegetarian. The server said she would ask the chef why if we wanted her to and we said yes. From that point, almost 10 minutes later, the "managing partner" came out and said we were harassing the server and calling the chef illiterate! Therefore we must take our belongings and leave.
