Taste: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I was pleasantly surprised on our trip to Cheddars, I hadn't been in so long and wasn't impressed by our first visit, but this location really stepped it up. Food all tasted pretty good and prices were reasonable. This location was clean and sat us quickly. We did have trouble with our server who forgot multiple items, delivered us another tables food and drinks, and had to be asked multiple times for things (e.g. straws, napkins, boxes) before she'd remember to bring them over... I won't fault the whole restaurant for that though, we just got unlucky with our server.

Cheddar's was a pleasant surprise. The food was affordable and tasted better than expected. Server was a bit forgetful, but everything else was solid. No wait and a good vibe overall.

Quick service Ample parking Good food - if you like your steak medium tell them rare Great fry on the food Sports bar like but not exactly? Maybe? There are TVs up. That screams Applebees to me. I would return.

    A drink

It's been a year since I went last time because the bartender was rude, a robotic order taker, and the appetizer and salmon were below what you should be able to expect. I never gave a review then. Now, a year later, we had an hour to kill and an achievement to celebrate. Happy as a clam hoping to get a buzz I drank my apple martini in 10 minutes, and my partner was still on the computer barely started (her comment: I can't drink this it's atrocious, she has no clue how to makebdrinks). I ask for another drink, and the bartender says, "You have to wait. I have to clean up here." She runs around and cleans 7 covers and then comes back 15 min later after I asked to speak with a manager (which was busy on the phone forb10 minutes, bitvreallybhe was asking everyone what it was about). I kindly asked if this is how you were doing business, no bartender at the bar, and now having time to serve another apple martini?? He said we managed people's drinking, while she was using her highest voice to voice that she received the order and just have to take care of other customers first [really? Are you understaffed or under trained?]. Sooo... I would like to know your management programs of you you manage people's drinking! Did you ask me how much I weigh, did you ask for my previous alcohol intake, do you know my tolerance, am I driving...etc? No! You did not, and for your convenience of the infinitely ignorant manager trying to "MANAGE" intake of alcohol consumption, here is the FL Statute you can study to help your helpless patrons: §§561.701-561.706. Go back to school, will you!

This is the menu to show prices to see that it's reasonable.

We had some friends to come down at the spare of the moment so we decided to go to Cheddar's. Now they were very busy but we honestly didn't have to wait very long for the table. The waitress that we had was trying to assist us to the best of her abilities with all the tables she was taking care of at the moment. We ordered drinks and because they say so long the ice was melted and the salt fell in the cup which made the drinks very salty. We order appetizers and they came out extremely cold because it was someone else order so when the waitress came to our take finally with an order of Onion Rings she said that we would have to wait until she put in another order. Now it's time to retrieve our entree and yet it was not appeasable at all. I'm not a person that complain about anything but the whole outing was not a good experience. The food was cold, some food came and some we were still waiting while boxing our food. Usually I go nowhere without ordering some dessert to complete my meal but nothing else I wanted from there except the Honey Butter Rolls which I would have been fine just eating that for the evening. The manager came to speak but he was very nonchalant on the experience that we encountered at his restaurant. At the end he comped our food due to ALL of the bad food we received.

The sampler. Spinach dip and chicken tenders.

When Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen first came on the scene as "the next big thing" among full-service restaurants, they received a lot of hype as many who knew about them praised their food and service. I myself wanted to work on their staff part-time while I was working full time, not for extra money, but because I wanted to work for them. Maybe get free food. Now more than a decade later, it is sad to say that Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen (which I will shorthand to simply Cheddar's for the remainder of this review) has fallen much from grace. It was a slow and steady decline, but I think the biggest drop happened during the time when most restaurants suffered: the illegal shutdown due to COVID-19. After that, Cheddar's could not pick up from where they used to be. I think many have learned to smartly work with independence due to the year of not working a traditional "9 to 5" job. Anyways, the service has suffered because it seems nobody wants to work such jobs anymore. Don't get me wrong, the staff who served us has been more than spectacular, but they are so spread thin, there are spans of time in which they do not appear to us, like a simple check-up. The cooking staff might be stretched thin too because the food has become simply inadequate as in the low end of average. Food is passable, but definitely nothing that stands out. And to top it off, the side chili/soup/casserole I ordered with my food had some weird plastic container in them. Management tried to fix the situation by giving our apps free, but the overall decline has already taken its toil on this Cheddar's. Honestly, I hope that through time, Cheddar's can bounce back. They just need to re-evaluate their service and food a bit. If my friends or family want to eat here, I'll oblige and that will be Cheddar's chance to show me they've improved. Outside of that, I am going to generally pass eating here for another restaurant.

    Country fried steak with gravy

I've been to this location several times, in fact, this is one of a couple restaurants that my parents like to frequent. Always clean, and friendly wait staff. Lately I've had a problem with the food lacking flavor, so I sometimes do what I can to enhance my entrees, such as adding hot sauce to my pasta. My most recent visit I ordered the country fried steak with green beans and broccoli, it was the first time I ordered this item from cheddars. The green beans were wonderful, they had a butter garlic flavor and they seem to be cut fresh. They even made the broccoli taste good when I mixed them together. I was thoroughly disappointed with the country fried steak. It taste like liver and it was dry and chewy. No amount of gravy was able to save that enormous piece of what they were calling country fried steak. In fact, i've had better country fried steak bought frozen at Sam's Club. In fact, if you want better country fried steak, you may want to buy it from Denny's. Cheddars makes a lot of good things, my dad likes the shrimp, my mom likes the ribs, but please avoid the country fried steak.

I have been to cheddars at the Tamarac FL location. I have always enjoyed my experiences there. This location was very disappointing. The service was slow. The food arrived cold. The appetizer was delivered 10 minutes after the meal was served. It too was ice cold. There doesn't seem to be any urgency in getting food to the table once it is cooked. It sits under the heat lamp until someone decides to deliver it to the table. This seems to be a trend. I would pass on this venue.

Yaaaaasss! I finally ate here!! The food was really good. I ordered the steak with shrimp, broccoli and cheese casserole, and the mashed potatoes. Everything was perfect except for the mashed potatoes, which they were watery. The service was great, would love to go back!

I've seen a lot of reviews that say their croissants aren't warm or their burgers aren't too good because it's not a burger place but I disagree with both. The croissants were warm, flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. The burger was really really good and fries were hot and crunchy!

The Cheddar's chicken tenders were phenomenal and the sides were great - mash potatoes and fries. I didn't like the buffalo wrap very much but it had the same chicken tenders inside. Each plate was about $13 and the delicious croissants that come as a free appetizer were amazing. Service was quick despite it being a Sunday around lunch time. I was happily pleased :)

They have the hot griddles built into the tables so that you can make your own pancakes which is what they're known for. We didn't have to wait for a table and the service was pretty quick. I started with a blood orange mimosa (only $6.95) and it was a very generous size. For my entree, I got the 2-pancake stack breakfast combo. I opted for the lemon poppyseed pancakes (which the kitchen cooks), cheesy eggs, and bacon. My husband got the southern breakfast, and our friend got one of their scramble skillets. Everything was amazing!

Upon arrival we were seated pretty quickly and all the staff were very friendly. Our server Amy was awesome and recommended a few breakfast items that were awesome. We opted for the Greek breakfast and the Cuban Benedict which were both fresh and excellent. We also split their seasonal Cinammon pancake as well which was great as well. Pancakes are huge so make sure you leave some room if you plan on having one. All portions were healthy as well, no skimping at Backwater and everyone was in the Christmas spirit as well which was awesome! The atmosphere is friendly, laid back and welcoming which is great if you are from out of Town. So if you are in the area, make sure you check them out for breakfast or lunch. I am sure you will not be disappointed! So in fact he spirit of the holiday I will adjust my customary ending to say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a prosperous and blessed Happy New Year to all of you! YUMMERS! We have been coming here for like 2 years and cannot believe we never shared about this…read moreawesome place. It is located in Fellsmere, which if you don't know is bumfuck Florida. However, this place is worth the drive. 2 minutes off of I-95 at exit 156. This is an old cow town and many farms still exist. It's 10 minutes from Lake Garcia which has awesome airboat rides. Airboat and Marsh breakfast is a great day. The place is an old bank I believe. Like from a zillion years ago. The interior is so cool. It is adorned with many taxidermy wildlife, historic pictures, and fun quotes. Fun. This is the place locals go to. Now let's talk food. We generally go For breakfast. Big portions, good prices, and ton of variety. So many southern specialties and freshly made. Their chicken fried steak is always a treat. Very down home country feel and menu. Today we went for lunch. My wife had shrimp and grits. YUMMERs! So good. The flavors coming out of this dish were as good, if not better than any we've had in the Carolinas. I had their chicken salad sandwich. They add bacon and love to this sandwich. I also think they use some dark meat which gives the whole thing a more chickeny taste. So good. And as if I was 5-years old, they serve it with ruffle potato chips and they were awesome. Especially when you dip them in the shrimp and grits sauce. The glazed carrots were as perfect as a glazed carrot can be. Slight hint of sweetness, so the carrot flavor was perfect. The only negative was the Mac N Cheese. That was a train wreck. The cheese had hardened throughout the dish making it not a smooth dish as one would expect. No issue. Oh, the applesauce was cinnimony awesomeness. Love this place and you will too. The service is not fast, so be patient. Great people, just a bit slow. M

Started off w/1/2 order of hush puppies (5) & 1/2 order of deviled eggs (3). Didn't care for the tad bit of bacon on the top. But..the taste was mouth watering & tangy. The hush puppies were served with jelly & pimento cheese. I'm a southern girl & love me some pimento cheese, it didn't disappoint. For the entree, my son & I both had a hallelujah biscuit.
