YUMMERS! We have been coming here for like 2 years and cannot believe we never shared about this awesome place. It is located in Fellsmere, which if you don't know is bumfuck Florida. However, this place is worth the drive. 2 minutes off of I-95 at exit 156. This is an old cow town and many farms still exist. It's 10 minutes from Lake Garcia which has awesome airboat rides. Airboat and Marsh breakfast is a great day. The place is an old bank I believe. Like from a zillion years ago. The interior is so cool. It is adorned with many taxidermy wildlife, historic pictures, and fun quotes. Fun. This is the place locals go to. Now let's talk food. We generally go For breakfast. Big portions, good prices, and ton of variety. So many southern specialties and freshly made. Their chicken fried steak is always a treat. Very down home country feel and menu. Today we went for lunch. My wife had shrimp and grits. YUMMERs! So good. The flavors coming out of this dish were as good, if not better than any we've had in the Carolinas. I had their chicken salad sandwich. They add bacon and love to this sandwich. I also think they use some dark meat which gives the whole thing a more chickeny taste. So good. And as if I was 5-years old, they serve it with ruffle potato chips and they were awesome. Especially when you dip them in the shrimp and grits sauce. The glazed carrots were as perfect as a glazed carrot can be. Slight hint of sweetness, so the carrot flavor was perfect. The only negative was the Mac N Cheese. That was a train wreck. The cheese had hardened throughout the dish making it not a smooth dish as one would expect. No issue. Oh, the applesauce was cinnimony awesomeness. Love this place and you will too. We came here for brunch with a group and really liked the atmosphere. The restaurant has an old Florida feel with lots of local history and interesting decorations. Service was friendly, and our drinks came out quickly. I ordered the fried gator tail nuggets. The breading was good, but the meat itself was chewy, which made them disappointing. Several people in my group also felt their meals were overcooked, from the eggs to some of the breakfast meats. It's not a bad place, and I can see why it's popular with locals, but based on this visit the food didn't quite match the atmosphere. I'd be willing to give it another try someday and hope this was just an off morning. read more

Such a travel back in time. My family is 8 generations floridians and this jewel is such a treat. My 1st time here and I was not disappointed. If you expect white tablecloths and candles then keep looking. Some say expensive but everything is expensive these days. I'd rather pay here where the service (our server was Nanci) is great the food is very good for the price. Well worth the bit of a drive to get here. Oh and there is live bluegrass on Thursdays. We LOVE MARSH LANDING! We had not been down for a while. This is great southern food (in my opinion). My favorite is the catfish strips lunch plate. The black-eyed peas and collard greens are pection. Husband ordered the fried okra so I could have that too. Great service with lots of great iced tea (husband is super fussy about tea). The atmosphere is fun-definitely rustic and country. We try to go down refquenly as we do love the food. Oh and let's not forget that the hushpuppies are some of the best I've had. read more

Classic old building with nostalgic decorations galore. It was a step back in time. Got there pre dinner so it wasn't crowded. I ordered the pulled pork and my vegetarian friend the assorted side dishes. Everything was fresh and delicious. Don't expect a big city restaurant. This was big and clean and country. I plan to pick up a salad to go after fishing at Headwater lake all day. I saw a chicken barbecue salad for $10, the other salads had processed meats or croutons which I didn't want on my salad. I requested the chicken barbecue salad and was told the menu on their website was inaccurate. I asked if they could offer a similar salad with chicken, and they did although when they rang up my order the total was over $20. I would be fine paying more the $10 on the restaurant's website but 2x the price seemed unreasonable so I cancelled my order and went to Giuseppe's and payed $15 for a nice Greek salad with chicken. First, I was disappointed that Marsh Landing was unable to honor the menu on their website, further disappointed they were unable to provide a similar salad at a reasonable price and wasted my time. The food was absolutely delicious, and our server, Nanci, was fabulous. We had the Shrimp and Grits (so good), Gator tail, Catfish strips, Catfish filet. The sides here are really the stars; collard greens, spicy applesauce, homemade mashed potatoes, mac 'n cheese and the most incredible cornbread. We had the most delicious key lime pie for dessert, also homemade. The best part of the evening was the bluegrass band that played on Thursday night, and most Thursday nights, Penny Lane. Disappointing and expensive. So so service. Kind of dusty and dirty here. It is very expensive here for sure, kind of like the property taxes here in Indian River County, just so expensive and they never lower them. The food is okay, not very big portions, just expensive. Very southern food, delicious and quick. I also ordered an arnold palmer which was perfect. Our waiter was funny and knew alot of history about the restaurant, including that it was haunted. Great service. A cute dining room set in an historic building. Lots of honestyle food on the menu. Unfortunately everything we ordered lacked flavor. Had to use a ton of salt and pepper. Breakfast plates looks really good though. Marsh Landing serves beer, wine, and cocktails. We had a small pour of old bad wine. Tasted like it was open for a while. We like to eat at places like this. I wish we had a better experience. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. read more

This was the worst restaurant experience we've had living in Florida. The server was rude and barely came by, when she did and we asked for something she looked like we were inconveniencing her. She gave us attitude when we mentioned we were sent by our airboat tour, rolled her eyes and walked away. That's not even the food...omg the food was inedible except for the French fries and even that's pushing it. We ordered fried chicken, a fried green tomato blt, and a sample platter. The chicken had zero flavor or seasoning, it was bland and greasy. Our sampler platter was the same. I don't understand how you ruin a blt but it was awful too, the bacon tasted like old stale grease and the fried green tomatoes were soggy. I hate to say that we brought company here, it was embarrassing. We will not be back and cannot recommend. read more

First time to tjis historic restaurant. Absolutely loved all the history on the walls and the warmth of the dining rooms. There had a preset Christmas Menu to choose from. We did order the Fried Green Tomatoes which came with a delicious Remoulaude Sauce. My wife irder the Roast Beef which was flavorful, but slightly overcooked. But in their defense we should requested a more rare and they could have probably accommodated. My Ham meal was very flavorful and served with Sweet Potatoes and Green Beans all cooked perfectly. But the star of the whole Dining Experience was the Butternut Squash Bisque which was so, so good. We will most dedefinitely be back. read more

Really a nice place. The Cajun catfish was delicious. Frog-legs were great. Chicken salad was very good. Overall a very nice place to eat and I definitely recommend. The small things - no spoons for mashed potatoes or applesauce. Things like that, you need a spoon. Almost not worth mentioning the mashed potatoes because I asked to have them reheated & the waitress never brought them back. Lol The waitress asked repeatedly if we wanted dessert but never once mentioned what they were or offered to bring a dessert menu. Waiter was very pleasant but the meals the three of us had were very disappointing. took a long time for our meals to arrive and the hashbrown casserole was cold. Catfish was very good and hot. Nothing good I can say about anything else. took about 20 minutes to finally get the check. Our family of 6 visited Marsh Landing recently for the first time, but it won't be our last! My first impression was intrigue at the myriad of taxidermy decorating the walls. It truly feels like a back woods southern country restaurant in the best way. The menu is diverse and everything all of us ordered was delicious! Our table was graced with fried green tomatoes, gator nuggets, catfish, meatloaf, southern burgers, fresh salad and homemade salad dressings and sauces. Our server (Carrie?) was very attentive and personable. We got the feeling she enjoys her job, which speaks well of any establishment. The lone drawback was an issue with their air conditioning on a hot day, but we were seating near a fan blowing cool air and it wasn't a big problem for us. Ok this is a must stop here and eat place! Full of old Florida charm, relics on the walls, just a cool place. Think it's in the old town hall or a school, but easily found on the main drag in Fellsmere. We started with tasty and very hot fried green tomatoes. I had the Gator and Grits w fries and coleslaw. A nice variation on shrimp and grits... very yummy, nicely spiced with the right amount of "zest!" Janie had fried chicken, mac and cheese, and greens. She loved it. We went on a Saturday afternoon so it wasn't busy, but every time I roll by there are cars here. There's a fun lil gift shop next door that seems to display local artists' work. I think it may be an evening dinner spot as I overheard the hostess taking reservations. Anyway gotta experience this cool spot! read more

Solid Florida southern casual dining spot. I'd never had any Florida "critters" before (gator, catfish, frog legs) and they do a great job here! This seems like one of the only restaurants in Fellsmere, which we were just passing through on our road trip. We also took advantage of the nice weather and walked around, the historical charm of everything is really nice. Definitely order one of their homemade pies.
