We love this restaurant so much. It's our first time here and for the Sharelicious Asia 2026 event. We ordered the combo $20 that includes sweet and sour pork, egg over the rice, a bowl of soup and a cup of hot drink. They gave us the original size of the sweet and sour pork dish and big portion of the egg over the rice. So it made the combo so valuable. The owner was so nice to give us a few pieces of deep fried pork on the house for my kid. My husband had the Curry Beef Brisket. All these dishes were tasty, especially the sweet and sour pork. Hot drink could be either coffee or milk tea or $1 extra to be cold drink. We have to mention the staff were so nice and patient with us, especially we have a naughty little one, they asked how to calm her down and gave us extra food to help. And they would follow up to see, in order to make sure we got everything, because the combo we missed the egg over the rice when it came. We like to come here again if we are nearby. read more

The service here was genuinely great -- the servers were attentive and friendly -- but unfortunately the food itself was very underwhelming. The whole place feels like an old‑school fast‑food Chinese café, almost like an uncle‑run spot from 30 years ago that never updated its recipes or flavours. They've kept their prices low, but the taste just hasn't kept up with the newer fast‑casual Chinese cafés where flavour and value go hand in hand. I'd honestly rather pay a bit more for better‑tasting food. Here's what we tried: - Curry Chicken Rice: The curry sauce was bitter and barely ladled on, and the fried chicken was overcooked, jerky dry texture. Tons of rice, but not enough sauce to bring the dish together. - Pork Chop with Maggi Sauce: The flavour was better, but again, it needed more sauce. The plain white rice made the whole dish feel dry and boring. - Bolognese Spaghetti: Surprisingly the best dish of the night. They were heavy‑handed with the sauce, though it didn't have much meat. Still, it tasted decent -- but honestly, it's something I could easily make at home. If you need a place that will fill you at good price and favor is not important this would be the place for you. Located on finch between Leslie and Bayview. The parking lot is a little messy due to the snow piles and easier to park near the TD bank to save on the aggravation. The staff are plenty friendly and warm. I was ordering to go and was able to place my order quickly and get the order fired. The shop is quite unique with 3 different dining areas. One requires 3 steps up into a larger dining room, the front entrance area with 3 tables and a bar counter type from the previous Japanese restaurant. Now for the food. The portions are huge! The pork chops occupied half the box. For you "rice buckets", you may be disappointed. But as for flavour... I feel the flavours were lacking. The pork chop was breaded heavily and did not carry much meat flavour. The sauce was very one dimensional. The "highlight" per se was the 2 sunny side eggs that I was able to enjoy with the rice. Only if I had a splash of soy, it would have hit the spot. I hope their chefs do a taste test before sending food out as Pine House and Petite Potato (cafe style) is only a hop and skip away with also a very crazy parking lot to navigate through read more

Came for dinner on a weekday. There were a few tables there. It seems that they didn't do any renovations to the original Japanese restaurant as the sushi bar was still there. We ordered the 2 people set dinner and added an extra dish. We couldn't decide on which dish and the server said she would let us try the deep fried pork on the house. We ordered the 2 people set dinner A which was 香辣手撕雞 (chicken) and 魚香茄子 (Eggplant) and we ordered an extra dish of beef with peppers. The chicken was pretty good and tasty. The eggplant was lacking flavour. The beef with peppers was ok but basic. The fried pork that was complimentary was actually really good. Would order it next time. The service was really good. Came here for dinner to try their wok dishes but they also serve traditional Hong Kong Style cafe here. Bottle Vitasoy milk was nostalgic and it was heated warm. Perfect for a cold winter day for a Hong Kong memory. $3.99 Signature ginger scallions chicken (half) was juicy and tender. Great ginger and onion soy sauce flavour. Deep fried egg tofu with shrimp, mushroom and squid was mt absolute favourite and the sauce is so tasty that I can have a bwok of rice with just this dish. Must order and it was staff's recommendation. Satay beef fried rice was decent and goes well with wok dishes and not overly empowering. Sweet and sour pork riblettes was well battered and not overly saucing sinking the meat into the sauce making it soft and soggy. Nice flavour and cripsy with tender meat. It has bones inside so opt for sweet and sour pork instead if you prefer meat in every bite. Special PROMO: after 4:30pm order $30 before tax and receive a free satay salmon head dish for FREE while quantity lasts. This dish was yummy and there's quite a lot of meat. Satay sauce is not spicy but flavourful. Goes well with rice. Their wok dishes are surprisingly great even thought this is a Hong Kong Cafe restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. We came to Cheeky Chat Eatery a new cha chaan teng (茶餐廳) for the afternoon tea, afternoon tea runs from 2:30-4:30pm. 沙爹牛肉出前一丁 Satay beef instant, you can choose instant noodle or rice noodle. The satay sauce was tasty and the instant noodle you can taste that they use 出前一丁 Nissin brand. The only enhancement required is that the beef is a little tougher but a good portion. The 西多士配雞翼 French toast with chicken wings was tasty. The French toast was nicely done with different layers. The curry fishballs were not bad. All afternoon tea selections comes with a drink. For cold drinks, you add $1.00. The service was very nice, attentive, fast and friendly. The ambiance is simple yet comfy. They have bottled vita soy. On the menu they also have fried rice, noodles, different items for dinner! Check it out! read more

I really hate giving poor scores but this was likely the most disappointing spot we've ever been in the GTA. My sons were craving curry beef brisket and figured other spots were likely packed bc of the 12pm time stamp. My husband had heard of this spot and we thought we'd give it a try. First off, service was great - they were kind and friendly, esp with my two boys. There was maybe only one other table there but they were very attentive. We chose two dishes - curry brisket on rice and baked pork chop on spaghetti. We chose our drinks and soups (borscht) for our combo. Normally, my youngest DEVOURS borscht but after one sip, he pushed it away and said no thanks. I thought that was odd so I tried it... it was burnt. It was so burnt that we couldn't finsih either of the bowls. The food came relatively quickly... which was odd since the second was supposed to be baked... but it just got worse. Both dishes were tasteless - the tomato sauce was watered down and the curry had a grainy taste to it. The best part of both dishes was the brisket but even that wasn't saying much. We wondered if everything was just pre-cooked and they microwaved things... despite orders going into the kitchen, nothing was really happening in there. We quickly finished what we could - left four bowls of soup, they gave us two extra bowls of the chicken soup but we couldn't finish that either, no flavour! They did give us 10% off which was very kind but we definitely won't be coming back. Sorry, cheeky - we had high hopes but it wasn't very good. First time I came they basically told me turn around go else where we have no stock on food but it's 3pm so weird. Second time bit better luck. I came here for afternoon tea menu but it's mainly deep fried or instant noodles. I rather it be like pine house where there's a good choices of soup noodles, stir fried noodles and fried foods. I got the French toast with wings. The French toast was fried perfectly with the peanut butter in the middle. But the slab of butter they put on top was too much and the syrup they give you is super runny. The wings there was 4 but I think it could be seasoned more. Overall it was a meh experience and I probably would go back if there's nothing better to eat near by. The place is smal and can get quite cold so if can try to get the tables up the 2 steps. read more

Got there when it just opened the doors for the day at 11am. About half the restaurant was occupied already so maybe the servers, 3 of them, were still trying to settle people down and take orders. Ordered the spicy braised beef with rice with a borscht soup and cold coffee tea for my drink. Got my drink first before the soup which I thought was odd, usually soup would come first before anything. The borscht was alright, little more sour than I'm used to. While waiting for my food I see the servers running around to different tables double checking on what dish they ordered as the customers were wondering what was taking so long and getting drink orders mixed up. A table that ordered later than I did had recieved their food already. I had to wait about 30 minutes for my dish to arrive. The dish itself was okay, the beef was tender and had good flavour but was not spicy whatsoever, the rice was a bit dry. Halfway through eating a server had asked if food was okay because apparently someone had already gave a complaint about it. read more
