Stay away from this place. Today I had to walk away from an appointment because after thirty minutes of waiting and asking multiple people on staff, up to and including the actual surgeon for the procedure, I could not get them to fill out a simple two-page consent form with relevant medical information before i signed it. I will emphasize here, in case that isn't clear: they handed me a blank consent form to sign before undergoing dental surgery. I tried to insist that I didn't feel comfortable filling out my own medical assessment on the form - details such as which tooth was being worked on, which was simple enough, but also whether the procedure was necessary in the first place, which is not a judgement I'm qualified to make. Each time I raised a question, it was clear that the person I asked hadn't read further than the next blank box before handing the form back to me and asking if I was ready to sign, while leaving information further down the page incomplete. They didn't even fill in the name of the doctor that would be performing the procedure. After the fourth time I had to politely but firmly ask them to read through the whole form (again, it was only two pages) and fill out their information before bringing it back to me to sign, the surgeon told me that my behavior was "inappropriate." That was too much for me. I walked out of the room. I apologized to the front desk on my way out, explaining that I'd asked several times for the form to be filled out before I signed. The fact that they could not even fill in the name of the doctor, which is not something I could have been expected to know, showed that nobody was taking my requests seriously. I asked: if that's the level of professionalism I can expect when it comes to something as simple as filling out a two-page form, why would I let them perform dental surgery on me? Their response, priceless: "Well, would you like me to speak to my manager?" Stay away from this place. They don't care about you. They just want to spend the absolute minimum amount of time possible on actually helping you so they can process your payment and move on. All the other low reviews echo perfectly the vibes I've gotten from this place. Don't believe all the glowing 5-star reviews written by AI bots. If you're looking for someone to provide care, look somewhere else, because AZ Dental doesn't. read more

I was looking for a dentist opened on Saturday to get my partners wisdom tooth removed due to causing him pain. I called various dentist around my area in San Francisco but they were either fully book or didn't have a dentist in house that day. I came across this dentist office in San Jose and Teresa Martinelli the office manager mentioned to me that she could take us in right away and that a oral surgeon was available at the location. I told her that I would be driving from San Francisco and would be there in a hour. Little did I know that I would not be getting any help. We got there and my partner was seen by a hygienist NOT the oral suregon. The oral surgeon wasn't even in until Thursday. She wanted to give us a referral for him for something during the week. Mind you I am located in San Francisco and I only drove to this location because Teresa Martinelli, mentioned that an oral surgeon could see us within the hour not on Thursday. Please be ware that some people only care about meeting numbers and not actually about you. This place is definitely one I would never recommend. read more

My front two teeth were uneven: one was a lot longer than the other due to a malpractice by a dentist that I went to here about a year ago. She no longer works here. But today I had a great experience with Dr. YEON JI KIM. She was able to fix my two front teeth free of charge which I appreciate so much. A truly painless dentist! Dr. Y. Kim and her assistant, Daisy, provided excellent care doing an extraction this morning. I didn't feel any is the anesthetic shots and Dr. Kim removed the tooth easily. The front office staff is warm and friendly. Have you ever heard of dental horror stories, but never experienced one yourself? Do you feel like you could use an extra filling or crown or like to spend hundreds of dollars on an unnecessary dental procedure? Answered yes to any of those questions? Then AZ Dental is for you! Dr. Kim said I had a filling that was previously badly done, was getting worse, and needs to be done with a crown instead. While I've had my share of cavities and fillings, it was the first time I've been recommended a crown. Given I hadn't gone to the dentist for a whole year because of COVID-19 it sounded plausible. I had my suspicions but opted to go with the crown since a filling was more temporary and would just add to the overall cost. The procedure itself was not done well - I can easily feel the edge of the crown. A couple of months later, I got a letter from my dental insurance informing me that AZ dental had requested the reimbursement multiple times, and each time it was denied because "This tooth does not appear to have decay or injury". Well shoot, I guess even the filling was unnecessary. It goes without saying that I would never recommend anyone to go to AZ dental, and the dental boards should be investigating them. read more

My wife and I have been customers of this establishment since 2017. Although we have seen a rotation of dentists during our tenure, the service has remained exemplary. Some examples below: -The front staff is prompt, likeable, and courteous -The hygienists are friendly and highly adept at their job. They establish a rapport with you and try to make the experience as comfortable as possible. -Lastly, I want to commend Dr. Kim for her professionalism during my recent operation (crown and fillings which). I felt at ease during the procedure in part to her gentle demeanor and diligence. I was treated by Dr. Kim ( Yeon Ji Kim) Exactly same happened to me what other reviewer mentioned. They will max out your insurance just by unnecessary fillings or deep cleanings or root canal whether you need it or not. Dr. Kim scraped my healthy teeth and gave me multiple fillings which was not necessarily needed. They just did fillings to get insurance money. On the top the fillings were so done poorly that caused me further bite issues. There is a hole in one of my tooth now. So even If you don't have any dental issues, you will get few after visiting them. Please read below, there are so many reviews about the same thing. I have always been afraid when it comes to Dental Procedures, which is why from young age I used to refrain from going for Dental Visits. This lead me to having Issues from that time, and then, some other issues as well. AZ Dental, has changed things for me. Everyone greeted me so well, and assured that everything would be taken care off. Dr. Rajni Sharma was very empathetic, and jovial right from the start. She ensured that there was no pain in the process, that being said, there were a multitude of issues that were to be done on that day, and everything went by a breeze. She kept talking to me through the process, helping me keep my mind off the task, and advised on things, that are not only related to oral Hygiene, but also career, and life choices. The is a scam office! The dentist Dr Kim will max out your insurance with these fillings that just falls out. Who does 8 fillings in 5 minutes without really drilling? Done coming to AZ, I got 3 fillings done at the location in Saratoga, and while getting them done something went wrong I heard something snap,dr left really fast and left me there for 5 minutes and I began to get a really nasty bitter taste in my mouth, weeks pass by by mouth still hurts and I can't eat with my right side, I try calling leaving voice mails still nothing, I go to az on brokaw and they now tell me I need a root canal and want to charge me over 500 for a mistake done by AZ. So instead all they did was write me a check of 100 for what Saratoga wrongfully charged me and if I want their error fixed I have to pay !!! My husband and I used to go to the Sunnyvale location and loved the service and staff there. Unfortunately we moved and decided to try out this location since it was only one exit away. The staff here are really inconsiderate for people's time. Been here twice and both times I had to wait to be seen only the second time after waiting 15 minutes I walked out. The first time I waited 45 minutes before I was seen and once I was seen I was told by the hygienist that she wasn't scheduled to take me in but since I was there she would take me. Great thanks! So the second time around I refuse to wait any longer than 15 minutes. I understand that things happen and getting behind schedule is normal however I would prefer to know if I'm going to have to wait more than 10 minutes and then the option is mine to wait or not. I had a partial crown and teeth cleaning done last April. They all were very professional, from the front desk to the dentists - and time efficient. The crown was perfect and is still intact. I did it all in one visit, which was a plus so I didn't have to drive down from Tucson twice. The crown was made while I waited, (about 1.5 hrs). Recently moved to San Jose and wanted a dentist closer by then my usual one in the East Bay. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was good, but the doctor kept trying to upsell me with unnecessary procedures. I have a small chip on my tooth and she offered to fill it but said she can't promise it'll stay.. So why offer?? I had another appointment scheduled with AZ dental, but decided to cancel as I wanted to go back to my original dentist. I called twice to cancel my appointment as I kept receiving reminders of the appointment. Cassandra kept telling me she removed me from the appointments , but she did not. The day of the appointment the doctor called me and said I had an appointment and was wondering where I was. Instance 1: Set my appointment: I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment time. They made me wait 40 minutes even before they let me in. Fine we rescheduled to next week. Instance 2: Next week I again arrive 5 minutes before my slot. Wait 20 minutes to be called in, Once I am on the chair I am told the doctor has called in sick. I was referred by the Veterans Administration and the Veterans Housing Facility on Kirk Avenue in San Jose. They have every type of specialist. There was very little waiting time, the dentist and the dental assistant take exceptional concern for the needs of the patient and they do an excellent job. I needed a new dentist because I commute half an hour to San Jose and my old dentist hours were Monday - Friday 8-5 in Redwood City which made it impossible for me to go without missing work. A-Z dental is only a few blocks away from my work which is super convenient! They have a lot of flexible hours including Saturdays that make it easy to schedule my appointments which my old dentist did not. I was easily able to find times where I could go right after work so I didn't have to take time off of work. I absolutely love this place! I can even write 10 five-star reviews for them. Why I am so thrilled about AZ Dental will be explained later, but before that let me explain the services I used. I had: deep cleaning, tooth extraction, and root canal operations. All five stars! Foremost thing I love about this place is how they made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in there. Even though I am quite grown up, I still get nervous when I am about to get a needle in my skin. My first operation was with Ben, the hygienist. Ben was so professional and so good at comforting that my anxiety turned into relaxation as if I was going to have a massage. The anesthesia needles did not hurt at all (yay!). He did a terrific job. Then, the next day Barbara cleaned the other half of my mouth. Again, superb job! Tooth extraction was done by Dr. Hashemi and root canal by Dr. An. All were very friendly and comforting while they were on top of their games. Amazing the technology they have there and how the doctors are expert at using them. What I love the most is that, I felt their real focus was my dental and overall health. Whatever they were doing they were really thinking the best for me, and not their pocket. Ever gone to a dentist and felt like a car dealer? They are the opposite of that and that is why I felt comfortable there. And after all this work, how much did I have to shell out? However when my insurance told me I had to pay this certain amount left but when I received the AZ billing statement, it's requesting more money then what my insurance is telling me to pay. All in all, keep an eye out and be careful on their billing process. They may be trying to make you pay more then what your insurance is originally telling you to pay. read more

Dr. Hashemi is a really great doctor. His bed side manner is really good and he really does care. I first came here to get a root canal done and he personally called me to ask me how I was feeling after the procedure. Since then I've been going to him and now have invisalign. He has gone above and beyond to make sure I have the results I want. My appointment was at 5 for an orthodontic consult with Dr. Anthony Nguyen. I had to leave work early for it. I waited almost an hour for the consult, which ended up being maybe 5-minutes, tops. Wow, are you shitting me? No one even came by to check up on me. I had to ask how long it would be before one of the other dentists came by to say hi and sorry for the wait. Umm if you genuinely cared about your patients and business, you'd have apologized and let me know right away how long it'd be. On top of that, the plaza is super crowded so it was difficult to find parking. It was fucking freezing in here too. It wasn't even hot today. Wtheck? After keeping me waiting for the short-ass consult, I now have to wait for the price quote....tick tock people!!!! read more
