On recommendation from a very friendly and kind worker behind the bar I tried the matcha stout, a lactose stout brewed with matcha. This wasn't on my to try list if I'm being honest but I'm glad I did. It hit the nose with notes of cigar smoke and chocolate and the tongue with a chocolate creamy taste with hints of matcha and vanilla. Last I tired the rice lager which is a staple on a hot summer afternoon. A thirst quencher that slight and goes down easy. Needless to say I will be back and look forward to trying something new next time I visit

They have three ways to order at Birdies,one can order at the bar or one can grab a table and order from a waiter or waitress or finally you can order from a QR code located at each table. Their Happy Hour features $8.00 items for both food and cocktail drinks though beers are priced at $6.00. Some of the things I've gotten over my visits during happy hour were as follows Blackberry Margaritas Guava Lime Spritz Urban Roots Lager Carne Asada Tacos Single Patty Smash Burger If I'm being honest, the food at Birdies is probably more towards average rather than excellent. im not big on writing reviews but has to be done. first im a boxer so i dont get intimidated easy. but this place scares even me. 2 weeks into the new year of 2015 i get some work on this side of town. went on a friday night. 2 fights in the parking lot. many brewing inside. people were so drunk they couldnt stand. bartender even picked one girls head off the counter to ask if she was thirsty. ladies beware. shady place. guys its a jail sentence waiting to happen. then pulled out from the bar. only way out is west capital ave. cop follows me for about a mile. lucky i only had 2 but you just never know anymore. karaoke was a bust. guy walkin around beggin people to sing on a crappy system. oh no. i would recommend staying as far away as you can. read more

The inside is dark and a little cramped but theres booth seating and bar space. I honestly like the look and feel of the inside. The drinks are decent and they have DJs on certain nights. My friends and I had a less than great experience once on a bar crawl when we weren't given great service and overcharged. Hopefully in the future things improve.
