I love this place. I've been coming here since I was a little girl. The owner is always happy to see my husband and I. This place holds a lot of history for us. We used to come here when we were first dating back in 1989. That's when it was over on Santa Clara. And now we take our 16 year old daughter with us whenever we eat here. Okay what the??? Are these reviews on the salt and pepper calamari real? Well lucky that it was my sister who paid almost 10 bucks for the rock hard calamari with no flavor and not me. It tasted absolutely terrible! I rather pay one dollar for those pork chips than eat this calamari yuck. It just tasted like a fried piece of friedness. Couldn't even taste the squid part. Not only that, when we ordered to go the lady just hung up on us not even asking for our names. I'm being nice. I gave an extra star for their quick service when we came to pick it up. But what the heck on the salt and pepper calamari -___- Have you guys tasted real calamari before? Anyways, my low rating mainly goes towards the calamari and bad customer service. Lady in d cashier taking orders n cleaning up tables wearing hospital gloves not taking it off, not washing hands after cleaning tables then she also serves your orders, water n utensils still with her hospital gloves on and also uses her gloves getting orders n counting money. Oh how the mighty have fallen. This used to be my go-to spot for Chinese food. The food wasn't too shabby, and the salt & pepper calamari was addicting. Nowadays, the cons outnumber the pros. The salt & pepper calamari is overcooked, the old lady that works there is even more rude. The food itself hasn't changed much (tends to be salty, and high in MSG), but the salt & pepper calamari (possibly what they're known for the most) now tastes like overcooked pork rinds. They're pretty much very average. Their orange chicken in my opinion has too much breading, but the flavor is nice.

Chinese food was very good, all portions were good enough for me. All came hot and ready to eat. My favorit was the sweet and sour pork. The in House ried rice delicious. I was going to Order the chow Fen with no meat, but decides for the House chow Fen. All were delicious. I sure will order again. Delivery person very nice. read more

I have been to this place several times in the past year overlooking extremely rude cashiers and "servers" because the cook and his brother are great people, but 12/29/17 is the last time. I placed a phone order in advance(8min) for 3 basic items (fried rice, noodles, beef broccoli) I arrived, and after cashier insisted I didn't call, finally found my order, then yelled amount, practically threw my change on counter. I saw they were busy, and so sat for 1 hour as frustrated customers consistently asked about there order, and were scolded and told "It's coming !" I saw one person totally give up and leave, gave up. During my hour I saw a elderly man order slowly, but politely, and the cashier said , " I'm only ordering to go for you " , she didn't want him there, (at that point I should of just left, cut my loss) sat there as they ignored and told people we don't have this or that, simple items like, soy sauce, hot sauce, finally, I asked, how long for my order, they said "it's coming ", I asked "eta?" and got ignored. 15 min later I asked for refund and magically my order was found on the counter, but it still didn't reach my hands because the cashier insisted I pay( a second time) after a huddle discussion with the 2nd cashier they agreed I had paid, and also agreed my receipt was valid. I told them they should out of courtesy tell people if they are over 30 min delayed, they both sarcastically smiled and laughed and ignored me as they had been to previous customers, I insisted they call the owner one of the cooks, and he finally came out to say " I just got here , I'll talk to them , and we will make it up to you". The time to correct your business mistakes is on the spot if you really care about your customers. There are plenty of other businesses that go above and beyond to value you and want your return business, places like this are the complete opposite and thanks to yelp that others can be warned, do not support this business, there food is very good, but the atmosphere and services are a nightmare. Do not spend your hard earned money in a place that disrespects you or other people, even if it's convenient and cheap, there are plenty of other genuinely good businesses that do right a wrong and deserve to be in business, such as La Costa down Alum Rock, or Lees Sandwiches on McKee n Jackson. This place isn't bad. I went with my boyfriend during lunch/early lunch. The customer service wasn't anything to rave about because they were barely around and didn't really cater to our liking. The food is decent Chinese food for a pretty good price for the amount of food you get. I order the shrimp chow mein and my boyfriend ordered the house chow mein. They have pictures for every item on the menu, which I love. They have the walnut prawns, I want to try that sometime. The quality of the food is much better than Mr. Chau's, but not as good as the Mongolian place in the Great Mall and Valley Fair that make the noodles right in front of you. So this place accepts cards, but if you order a lot they make you pay in cash. I bought the garlic beef and it was like 80% breading and 20% meat. The only saving grace at this place is the calamari and the smelt fish. Also the portions for take out are small and not worth the price. read more
