Everything my family and I have had here has been excellent! We have to order the Camarones Doña Cuca for the table every time...they're sooo yummy and have the perfect amount of kick!! I ordered La Morenita, their Mexican scallop ceviche, it was the best choice!! The scallops were incredibly fresh and perfectly tender...nothing overly chewy We always look forward to coming back!!

Outdoor seating = great Valentina is my server = beautiful, kind, and very helpful. I ordered the ceviche Mixto on her recommendation!!! Some of the best CEVICHE that I've ever had. Did I say there's soccer here in San Jose?!?!?! Anyways, all of the staff go out of their way to be sure that you're taken care of and happy. Food is fresh and fantastico. This is the epitome of THE neighborhood / local hangout!! I love it and will be back on ALL my SJ trips. Parking is a little tight.
We finally were able to dine at this fine Mexican seafood restaurant,having tried two previous times only to find it crowded with no parking in the area. Spent my Birthday here on a Wednesday and loved every moment. A big outdoor seating area as well as some indoor seating. The parking lot is very small but plenty of street parking. A wide variety of seafood dishes as well as some traditional Mexican dishes. Service is great and the food is delicious. I had the Caldo de pescado(Bass fish soup and it was delicious. The caldo(broth)was spicy but not overbearing. The fish seemed to melt in my mouth like butter. Glad we were finally able to get in.

Hot days always have me craving ceviche and shrimp cocktails, and this place hits the spot every time! The food is delicious, flavorful, and exactly what I'm looking for when I want something refreshing but still satisfying. The ceviche has the perfect balance of flavors, and the shrimp cocktail is always a favorite. I will say that if you're not used to the shrimp being raw in a lot of these dishes then this isn't the place for you! Most of the time it's pretty raw but truly yummy. Would recommend!

My friends and I decided to order the super micheladas, aguachiles, and frutas con camaron. The micheladas were huge and came with 6 perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimps. The shrimps were a bit spicy, but we all really liked them. I believe it was around 10 dollars for each drink. Considering the size and amount of shrimp, I thought it was a pretty good deal. The aquachiles came with mango and cucumber. It was my first time eating aquachiles and I loved it! This dish also had a good amount of spice. The frutas y camaron were seasoned similarly to the shrimps on the micheladas, and the fruit had chamoy and tajin. This was my first time eating this dish too, and I really liked it. I will definitely be coming back here to try their entrees!

I really like this Costa Alegre location, the food is always on point, the shrimp is always plump & the service is always good. There's also plenty of street parking & easy to get in/out of. Love the outdoor seating choice. Vibes are always great here. They have a Banda on weekends & if you eat inside during the evening, it's always a party, Love it, 10/10

Came in on a Saturday and boy.. this place was packed! I can definitely see why. Everyone was watching the game so it was a vibe to say the least. Service was quick and attentive. I got the crispy shrimp tacos, a michelada, and a mixed drink and it really hit the spot . Tacos were flavorful and just the right amount of crisp Worth the hype for sure. I honestly didn't want to leave, but I could see there was a line and lots people waiting for tables, so I didn't want to be greedy and take up a seat any longer than I needed to. This place is consistently good. My favorite thing to order is the camarones à la diabla. So spicy and delicious. You have to try it! Highly recommend it. I always get either the camaron ceviche or the pulpo ceviche to share. I have tried the fajitas and molcajate and they are good options to share. The sushi is worth the try. Different than the usual sushi but good. The squirt preparda is very refreshing. A good option if you don't drink. I have been coming for years and don't really take photos. I had not been to this place. I went to San Jose, Ca for a personal matter, yelped a seafood place and this one popped up. Not disappointed at all! The place was full of people enjoying their dinner. It was packed, yet service was excellent and fast! My food was delicious! It was perfect! I enjoyed the pescado zarandeado! My spouse got the campechana! The agua mineral preparada was delicious! We also ordered an order of callo de acha! A must have! Everything was great! Service was amazing! You must definitely stop by when you're in San Jose! They have others around the area. Portions are super generous and plenty for one person. Highly recommend getting their seafood dishes as it's what they're known for. Servers are super friendly and so smiley! This mariscos was recommended by some friends. We came for weekday lunch and luckily they were able to accommodate my big group for walk-in. There's plenty of outdoor seating in addition to the area out in front near the parking lot. The menu had us feeling overwhelmed... but in a good way! They had lots of food options to choose from and I loved how there were pictures included for almost all menu items. I ended up choosing the fish tacos which were fresh and delicious. Each of us were also given a cup of soup before our dishes arrived. There's also plenty of flavors to choose from if you decide to order margaritas. Highly recommend the tamarind margarita if you enjoy sour flavors! Super friendly staff and great deals throughout the week. Such a cute Mexican restaurant with amazing service! They welcomed us with a complimentary cup of soup and tostadas, which was such a nice touch. I ordered the pulpo à la Diabla with added shrimp -- the octopus was cooked perfectly tender, and the shrimp was delicious. We also got the Aguachile, which was super fresh and really yummy. Everything was full of flavor and had a great kick of spice. We did try all three hot sauces on the table, so I'm pretty sure that made our dishes extra spicy--but we love spice! Overall the great customer service & the positive attitudes of every single employee made this place. The Mexican music was an added touch & added authenticity to the experience, it felt like we were in Mexico, which I enjoyed. Food wise -- the michelada and the shrimp on the michelada were so tasty so we had high expectations from the start, but unfortunately the food was missing seasoning. Overall great hole in the wall place to stop in for a drink, but won't be back for the food. read more

Ambiance: large outdoor area with plenty of seating. There was a mariachi band that played for a bit while we ate. Added to the feel of the place, but it was a bit loud and made it hard to hear each other. Service: restaurant seems to cater more to those who speak Spanish. Waitress spoke to us in Spanish upon first greeting us and it made it a bit hard to communicate. Busers were attentive and did a great job keeper our space clean. Food: LARGE portion sizes. We ordered two dishes and it was definitely enough to feed four. Food was tasty and if you need added spice they have 4 hot sauce bottles available at the table. I've been here a few times and haven't been dissatisfied so far. First, the food has always had a lot of flavor and have been very tasty. My very first time during my visit, I ordered the steak plate. It was very delicious. This time around, I wanted to try their shrimp. I went with the Camarones a la Crema, in all honesty. I wasn't a big fan only because it had no spice but it did have a lot of flavor. I do recommend this if you aren't a big fan of spicy things. My partner's Aguachile tricolor was tasteful and pretty spicy. Their margaritas were delicious as always. I've noticed they changed their Thursday special as well since my last visit. Overall, I strongly recommend this place. Their food is delicious, the drinks are satisfying and the customer service has always been top tier. 10/10 recommend and will definitely come back again. read more

Popular SJ restaurant for the locals! Great food and Mexican vibes with the Banda playing good music & street vendors coming in to sell jewelry, key chains, flowers and photos. And we bought all of them The Service was excellent! Sat down & consome & tostadas was offered right away with water. We ordered cocktails & more cocktail's they were delicious. Large Food portions so can be easily shared with a large group so don't over order but leftovers always taste better hung over the next day - lol. Only issue is limited parking. But that's any big city. Can't wait for next San Jose outing to go here again. read more

This is one of my most favorite restaurants ever! Best micheladas hands down! Super refreshing, juicy shrimp and the tastiest michelada mix. I love their quality here, everything is fresh and delicious! They have some of the best seafood dishes around. A great menu, with lots of variety. My favorite is the camarones envueltos plate, it comes with delicious bacon wrapped shrimp that I just love to wrap in their tortillas to make a little taco, it's perfection on a plate. It's amazing how they get the bacon so crispy and yet the shrimp is still juicy! Last time, my family ordered the tacos gobernador, and those were tasty too. They have a large dining area, very clean with lots of tables and seating, perfect for large gatherings or small groups. I've celebrated my birthday here, and many other special occasions, I always try to find a way to come here! We've also had them cater for a work event and that was also a really great experience. I'm so happy we have a great seafood restaurant in the east side of San Jose! read more
