I love that the place is wheelchair accessible! The Moro is amazing! Moist and full of flavor! And don't get me started on the Oxtails!

I'm going to give them four stars because I have visited this place enough now to form an opinion. I have to say this is a Spanish restaurant and I do like that every time I have made a visit it's always clean. It has enough tables for you to sit comfortably and enjoy something to eat. They have plenty of options to enjoy and for the most part, the food is really good. Although they have had some bad days where the rice was not always good. I mean the specialties. Like the rice and bean mix, or the mixed rice with veggies, etc. The customer service has not always been that great as well. I do have to say I've had more good than bad. Unfortunately it is something you get use to living in the Bronx. All that being said I'm gonna give a thumb up on this one. Happy Yelping! read more

I am loving this place- BEST spot to order from in the area when you want to eat some real food... The rotisserie chicken is DELICIOUS!! The beans are also up there!! The only reason that I did not give them four stars: the combo here is not worth it... other spots include a soda, a salad AND tostones/maduros. Chef Rosa only includes a soda and a very limited salad... The lettuce looks like they cut a lettuce head in four and threw it in there like that. read more

I got overcharged, I paid cash and after not receiving the change I expected I asked the cashier to check again clarifying the price. Instead of 13$ I was charged 15$. Not going back, overpriced anyhow. Nearby locations server better food with better service for lower prices. read more

There are at least 5 Dominican/Caribbean restaurants in a 5 block radius in this area and this is by far the best one, in every way. Chef Rose's meals taste just like the homemade food from our mothers and grandmothers back on the islands. -The meals are very fresh. Excellent quality. -The portions are also more generous than the other restaurants around us and the selection of dishes readily available daily is also a much better in both variety and taste. A big difference. -The service is also the best. -The prices are unmatched for the quality and the portions that you get. -Their seasoning is definitely more natural and they do not use enhancers. A big plus for us. (We asked how their food tasted so fresh and different) We used to get our Dominican meals from two of the other similar restaurants in the area but have now become loyal customers of Chef Rose because her food is just that good. Go early afternoon or early evening because the best goes fast. We recommend their pernil, chicharrones (by far the best), the fish (excellent value), oxtail, turkey (great value, amazing recipe for wings and drumsticks) and any style in which they cook their beef or chicken. Everything they make is delicious -- we get our family meals there once or twice a week and can attest to how consistent the quality is -- It's just like home made and very fresh. A real New York find. This is a beautiful, spotless steam table joint where everyone says "Good Morning" to you. I like the fact that I can have lunch at 10 am (I get up early). Everything is fresh and ready to go -- soft, moist yellow rice and pigeon peas, baked salmon, stews of goat, oxtail, and chicken. Even breakfast, but 19 am is too late for me. I was happy to find such great service. When I walked in, I was greeted. All of the food had labels so I didn't have to ask. The restaurant looks so clean and the food is well organized. There aren't people sitting at a counter which is refreshing as we don't have to order the food between them. The servers were courteous and that was also great. It is a bit confusing to order once you get inside as nothing is labeled. The woman taking my order was nice but her English was limited and she could not explain to me what certain things were. I saw what looked liked rotisserie chicken and grilled chicken which appeared to be similar to each other. I asked the woman the difference between the two and she told me "it's just chicken" so it wasn't that helpful. On the way in, I took a quick look at the menu posted on the street sign and did not remember what came with the lunch meal. Again, the woman wasn't that helpful. I asked for sweet plantains and another man said she would package it separately. They did give me a generous portion but it looks like they charged it as a side order when I only wanted what came with the meal. The chicken was a bit dry and tasteless. The rice and chicken portions were large but I prefer quality. Not sure I would return. read more

I have attempted to come to this establishment two different times. Two completely different days and times to order a soup and another for dinner. This place is unorganized and they need to figure out a better way to place your order. I stood by waiting for someone to take my order for the soup, which is located near the door. Customers were walking in and stopping in the middle and skipping other people waiting. I went last night to order dinner & yet again I stood more towards the middle no one took my order or asked. I walked by towards the door to get my order placed. A man walked in and skipped me, began saying is order as I was waiting. I had to yell at the employee because if this is a free for all establishment, to pick and choose who's orders instead of doing it in order. I am sticking to Economico, their employees are so attentive, & way more organized. I would even go to Malecon before this establishment because their organization in taking orders is just a mess.
