I was intrigued by this spot from driving around the area so decided to check it out on a saturday. we got there around 6 and were told the kitchen doesn't open until 7 (didn't see this noted anywhere online) but we were invited to stay and have drinks. none of our drinks tasted water down as other reviews state, but they are definitely sweet. in terms of food... not really anything to write home about but nothing incredibly offensive. wish we would've gotten to hear the live music but they didn't come on til 10pm. probably a better spot to just stop by for a quick drink vs have dinner at pork- good but very sweet sauce and incredibly decadent fatty cut tuna- sauce was overkill sweet but generally this was fine mini tacos- really heavy mayo, chicken felt canned consistency and there was no pico de gallo

Friday night we headed to Tilila to listen to Lee Burgos. Once we got there nobody greeted us at the entrance it was like a self service, you can sit where ever. The chips and salsa didn't taste good. The chips tasted like platanito chips from the bodega and the salsa that came with was just bad ( it was salty and heavy). We ordered the chicken marsala (pollo para el alma) and as you can see in the picture the chicken was not cleaned properly since it had a lot of extra gooey skin. As soon as I saw that I lost my appetite. Also, the fried platains and yuca fries were very large and it was hard to get small bites from them. The waiter that was serving us was rude. She asked us if we could move to another table because a group of six came and they wanted to sit together, like what!? This is just a plain disrespectful and disorganized place. The only good okay part was Lee Burgos singing. But we couldn't enjoy it either because she wrote on her instagram account that she was going to be at Tilila at 10:30pm and the Tilila instagram wrote that she was going at 11pm so we got there around 10pm. She ended up signing at 12:30pm!!!!! That's just not professional. I don't recommend this place at all- not going back.

Was there today with my husband for happy hour, had the sangria and it was SUPER good. Had a chimichuri, my husband had a sandwich and we had the batata fries. Food was good and and well presented. The sauce for the chimichuri was excellent. The setting, music was good. Bar tender was very friendly and professional Will definitely will come back

Oh Bronx you never stop disappointing me I keep finding this hidden jewels hole in the wall type of places and tilila is perfect example of that the food was great the service a waiter manny was so amazing that even my wife felt the need for a generous tip( and she's so cheap) the decor and the life music made for a better night that we expected a quick dinner ended up been a 3 hour party for me and my wife... the Bronx keeps reminding me that u can not judge a book by its cover.... the Bronx is that rose the rises through the concrete jungle agains all odds.. can't wait to see what else I find...

I love this place, it's wonderful. Good music all night, super comfortable and quiet, I felt at home, in my beautiful Dominican republic, the super typical decorations of our country and the place is in a wooden house. the super rich food, I ate a picadera even with chicharron. definitely here they will see me very soon

I love Tilila! The staff treat you like family and the drinks are always on point! Definitely a great place to come and enjoy moderately low music and lower crowds.

I stopped by Tilila on a Saturday around 5pm during NYC recently indoor dining. We were greeted at the door and we sat indoors. The decor is so beautiful! Deff reminds me of a traditional country side house in the Dominican Republic. They have a variety of small plates, and 3 strong dinner plates, but there is variety and a little bit for everyone. The chicken is delicious! And you cant never go wrong with the patelitos! The veggies ones were to die for! Drinks were also delish! Strong and straight to the point! They also have hookah (if you are into that) and outdoor dining. Will deff be returning!

The service was amazing! Food came fast and hot. I am so excited to visit on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night for the live music.

The manager is extremely rude. The service is very slow. It is unfortunate that we spent our money in this establishment.

My friends and I arrived at Sho J Oregano's Crescent Avenue location at approximately 9:45 PM. The restaurant's posted closing time was 10:00 PM, yet we were told they would not seat us. Disappointed but willing to give them another chance, we paid for a taxi to their White Plains Road location, which was listed as being open until 11:00 PM. We arrived around 10:00 PM only to be told that they were also closed and would not serve us. The result? We wasted time, money on transportation, and an entire evening chasing a meal at a restaurant that was supposedly open. What made the experience even more disappointing was the response after I shared my review. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or apologizing for the confusion, the restaurant chose to challenge my account. I have no reason to misrepresent what happened. My review reflects exactly what my group experienced that evening. This isn't about expecting to be served after closing. It's about arriving during the posted business hours at two separate locations and being turned away both times. If the kitchen closes early or there is a last-seating policy, that information should be clearly posted online and at the restaurant. Customers shouldn't have to guess whether "open" actually means the business is still serving guests. For a restaurant that has received so much praise, I expected far better customer service and accountability. Great food can earn awards, but honesty, consistency, and respect for customers are what earn loyalty. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend making a special trip here unless you're prepared for the possibility that the posted hours may not reflect when they'll actually serve customers.

The crispy octopus easily rivals anything I've had in Manhattan, super tender with just the right crisp. The cassava hash browns were so good I was almost annoyed by how simple they were. Paired with a rich, meaty sauce and a fresh fennel crunch, the whole dish was incredibly balanced. The wings were the most straightforward item on the menu (in the best way), lightly spiced, slightly sweet, and great for picky eaters. Someone needs to give the bartenders a raise. I ordered three drinks just to test consistency--every single one was balanced, spirit-forward, and not overly sweet. The presentation was different on each one and felt intentional without being gimmicky. I've seen some of the lower Yelp ratings and they mostly call out price, but this is very much a you get what you pay for situation. The quality of the food, the portion sizes (especially for this level of execution), and the overall intentionality behind the menu justify it in my opinion. Service was excellent. They squeezed me in last minute, and my waiter, Dionicio, handled my coconut allergy (not easy at a Dominican spot) with real care and ease. The space itself is worth mentioning - moody, mushroom/mossy interiors. Super cute, very well thought out, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to.
