I ordered the spicy pork lunch special with dumplings and kimchi and when the owner dropped the food off at the curb for me, he mentioned in passing that they threw in a cookie and neglected to mention that it was a truly excellent cookie. and the bowl surpassed the cookie!! very courteous and quick, made sure to inform me of their protocols in place for the pandemic, i can't wait to try more of the menu! :) read more

Update: I just saw the owner, Chef Jae P's response to my Review, and I'm not really sure why I got the scathing response. First of all, I did say the chicken was good. I just personally prefer a thicker sauce on the chicken so there is deeper flavor. And I don't know what he means by eating the Kimbap properly. It comes sliced and I ate it as it came. I did not deconstruct it. Why would I? Then it would be messy to eat. And even though I didn't deconstruct the Kimbap, for MY own personal taste, I found the Bulgogi a little salty. But not everyone has the same taste buds. For some, it may be perfectly seasoned. As for calling to complain about not receiving the sauce, I did not call to complain. It was a misunderstanding. I didn't understand how the ordering system works, since it was my first time ordering from this place. This place also sells regular fried chicken besides Korean fried chicken. I think the regular fried chicken comes with a sauce, so I got confused. I thought I was supposed to receive a sauce. When Chef Jae P. explained that the sauce is added to the regular fried chicken to make it Korean fried chicken, I said ok. I was not upset or anything. I just misunderstood. I'm a Foodie, and I actually eat out quite often....at least a few times a week, if not more often. Most of the time I post on my FB, and sometimes on IG, but I don't write a lot of reviews. Is that a crime? I mostly write a review if something really stands out for me about the place, positive or negative. Like this place got all 5 star reviews, so I was soooo looking forward and excited to try it. Maybe because of the 5 stars reviews, I was expecting something really outstanding and really delicious. The Korean fried chicken was good, maybe 5 stars for Moreno Valley... since there are no other Korean fried chicken places in the area. But for me, it was a 3.5 stars, which is still good IMHO. 5 stars would be Michelin rated. Anyway, I was kind of taken aback by the response from the owner so I felt that I had to respond back. Anyone having a craving or wanting to try Korean Fried Chicken in the Riverside or Moreno Valley area, I still would recommend you try this place. REVIEW: Actually, I give them 3.5 stars. The food is good....for Moreno Valley. But I live in Monterey Park, the Asian Foodie Paradise, where the Asian food is legit and really delicious. I happened to be staying in Moreno Valley, and craving Korean Fried chicken. I was so happy to see Chef's Kitchen offering that, AND they had a 5 stars rating. I knew I had to check them out. Not saying their food is not legit or not good. As I said, it's good for Moreno Valley. And it did satisfy my craving. I ordered the 10 piece soy garlic Korean fried chicken combo and the Bulgogi Kimbap. The Korean fried chicken was ok. It just didn't have that deep flavor I was expecting. And their Kimbap was ok also, although I did find their Bulgogi to be a little salty for my taste. For my side, i ordered the Korean potato salad. But theirs seemed more like a cross of American potato salad and Korean potato salad. A little bit disappointing, to be honest, because I normally LOVE Korean potato salad and was looking forward to eating it. All in all, a solid 3.5 stars, IMO. read more

Don't shy away just because it's made from a home kitchen! I got 10 pieces of Korean fried chicken half soy garlic and half sweet and spicy which paired nicely with the radish provided. The flavors were on point and honestly better than most kfc places I've been to. -1 star because the wings weren't crispy at all or else it would have been perfect. My friend got the chicken katsu plate and said it was good. Definitely going to be my go to when I'm craving Korean. read more

I've ordered from them a few times and their food is always incredible. My go-to order is the fish cake gimbap and sweet and spicy wings. My sister has gotten their bulgogi gimbap and says their bulgogi is delicious, and she is very picky. The food is so fresh and flavorful. I've had no issues ordering from them and when I pick up my from their place they always run it out and are very kind and excited to greet and serve you. I'm saddened that I moved away from Moreno Valley as this place had become a weekly treat for myself. read more

I took a shot in the dark trying this place out and I was not disappointed. First off, let me say the owner is very friendly! The best customer service I have received. Secondly, the food was delicious! Somewhere between restaurant quality and a heartwarming homemade meal. I had the bulgogi bowl and I was really surprised by the portion for the item being a lunch menu item. The bulgogi was cooked to perfection, the veggies weren't soggy and had the perfect warm crunch. Yes, it can be bit weird picking up food at someone else's home, but it is worth it! Just text them when you arrive and they bring it right out to your car. Our favorite is the soy garlic wings. They are in my top three wings I've had all time! The bibmbaps are also very good with a great ratio of meat to veggies and rice. It is always has been done on time, hot and fresh. For side's, the danmuji is amazing. Never thought I'd like something like that. The potato salad is the only thing I haven't enjoyed but like many foods like coleslaw for example, everyone has a different way they like it so I have no doubt others like that style. This place hits the spot! My family and I've been driving 1.5 hours to Fullerton/ Buena Park for Korean food but that's not happening anymore. We've had the bibimbap, spicy rice cake, kimbap, and dumplings and they've all been great. My husband was saying it tastes like jipbap which means a Korean home cooked meal. One thing to note is that this place is a legit house kitchen. When I first went here I thought I was lost because it directed me to a neighborhood. But you're in the right spot. Moved to the IE area from OC and saw this spot in my yelp recommendations. Thought I'd give it a shot and let me say this is the freshest, tastiest wings you will find anywhere on this side of the state. Wings and fries were piping hot even when I got home 10 minutes later and were brought out swiftly by the runner. Have added this spot to my regular cycle of restaurant I like eating out at. My brothers and I enjoyed it a lot. The spicy fried chicken was a bit too saucy for me but it was still so very good. I loved the Kim bap as well! Came across this place on Yelp... Wasn't sure as I've never encountered an out of home restaurant (totally county approved by the way). YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! The attention to detail and loving care in preparing meals for my family is so deeply appreciated. My kids love the tonkatsu and especially the dumplings that come with their meals. I honestly had my doubts that Riverside had a good Korean fried chicken place but this place is BOMB. So good, everything was fresh including all my ingredients on my bimbimbap. We saw this Korean spot pop up on Yelp and we were craving Korean food like back home. The wings were amazing and were up to par with the Korean fried wings we get. And honestly, they were even better! The spicy wings were my favorite while my boyfriend liked the orange ones better so I'm glad we got both. The place is at a house in a neighborhood. We were iffy about it at first but the gentleman on the phone explained the process and assured us it was approved by the county. You order your food on the app and when you show up you park outside and call them to let them know you're there. He brought out the food less than a minute later and was very nice. Found this Korean food gem today thanks to Yelp! We ordered kim bap (with fish cake and with bulgogi), spicy rice cake cup, chicken katsu, and the mushroom bibimbap. We loved everything! You can taste the homemade difference compared to a mass produced product. They make their own kim chee and it's delicious! We will go out of our way to pick up food here again!
