My parents and I were already in New Jersey so we decided to visit my good friend and her daughter. At first, we were heading to one of her diner spots but last minute we changed our minds and we came here instead. My good friend and her family frequently dine-in for lunch and dinner here so 老板娘Ling already knows them. The restaurant was spacious with a sushi bar near the entrance as the Sushi Chef was behind the counter slicing up sashimi. My mom ordered for the table...Sesame Jumbo Shrimp (this was definitely my favorite...totally thumbs up...very tasty dish), Taiwan Mai Fun (it was bland so I asked for some hot sauce), and Beef with Broccoli + a bowl of white rice for my good friend's daughter. My good friend ordered her favorite dish Egg Foo Yung with Pork + a bowl of white rice (these two omelets were huge...don't forget to pour the hoisin sauce over them...very tasty dish as well). OMG, we were so stuffed man! I definitely will come back whenever I am back in my good friend's neck of the woods =) Note: They are located in the Echo Plaza Shopping Center!

I have been eating here at minimum once a week for the past 18 years. Nobody does Chinese food better than Chens.

Sat outside on a lovely evening! Service was quick and friendly. We wanted to try some new things…read moretonight, so my friend and I ordered a few small plates to share. The akai tuna salad was refreshing and a great start to the meal. We also loved the soup dumplings and akai tacos. The meat inside the "tacos" was so flavorful and the pickled radish on top was such a nice crunch! The shrimp tempura roll was stuffed full!! What a lovely meal.

My friends and I had a reservation for three on a Thursday evening and were surprised to find the…read morerestaurant very busy once we arrived. We had to wait ~15 minutes for a table to open up before we were able to be seated despite having a reservation. There was a large (and disruptive) party next to us and it seemed like the place was understaffed as our server wasn't able to attend to us much and he seemed frazzled. For appetizers, we had the vegetable gyozas and fried wontons. Both were pretty unimpressive and I wouldn't order them again. I ordered the tempura udon for my entrée which came with a bowl of miso soup which was pretty good. One of my friends got the D.E. warrior roll which was quite pricey (~$30) and was chewy since all the meat was cooked. My udon was decent and came with two shrimp tempuras and two broccoli tempura as well. However, I wasn't a fan of the spinach that came inside the soup. Overall, we had a satisfactory time at Akai but we don't think we would return.

Visited this spot for the first time and frankly it's a decent location, as NJ doesn't have a lot…read moreof Korean Fried Chicken spots. I dared to try the cauliflower wings (half & half), which actually wasn't bad. Both flavors was good, although I personally like the spicy better (just make sure you can handle it, although it won't be too bad if you're used to spicy food). Garlic fried rice was okay, but not the best. Also seems like they don't give you a side of pickled radish at this point, but maybe that's because we're in Jersey. Also the kimchi fries weren't what I expected. What the fries were crispy and tasty, they just give you a tiny cup of kimchi cheese sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expected the fries to be way more loaded. I ordered for pickup and it did take a lot longer than expected. I also felt sorry for the hostess, who was running around trying to help. There also was 5 people just standing around chatting, but the music was just a tad too loud to hear anyone trying to get their attention. I'm sure dining in would be a chill vibe, but can still have that and have it all together yk? Last thing is I definitely asked for bacon mustard sauce and heard them confirm over the phone, a bit annoyed they forgot that!

We have been coming to Roosterspin for years now - probably our favorite spot in Westfield. We all…read moreshared the honey butter rice balls, bibimbap, japchae, and regular size of the soy garlic wings. We have been coming here for a while and always get the honey butter rice balls without fail. The crunch on the outside and chewy texture on the inside is perfect and we love the sweet taste. I would pass on the bibimbap next time, it was kind of bland and the crispy rice was burnt instead of golden. The japchae was the star of the meal. So much flavor, perfect cook of the noodles, and thin beef. If I wasn't sharing dishes, I would get this all for myself. Lastly, we got the regular size of soy garlic chicken, which was 12 pieces because they were out of the big drumsticks. The crunch was great with perfectly cooked chicken on the inside. I don't like that they charge extra for sauce but honestly this meal was such a bargain. A meal for 4 under $100 at a nice restaurant is rare. The service was fine, refilled our water on time but our waiter could've been more attentive overall. Ambiance is always great with a retro vibe and cool lighting.
