Three stars because the honey garlic chicken nuggets was absolutely delicious and the bill only came out to $24!!! That's hot!!! Two stars less because not only did the delivery driver hustle me for a tip as usual with most Chinese establishments, but the crab rangoon and the super tiny egg rolls were dry and VERY hard, like they had been sitting for HOURS!!!! I could barely chew thru them!!!! Their texture was like chewing into dried out chewing gum or dried clay!!!! And the crab rangoon tasted like the cream cheese was SWEET strawberry cream cheese!!!! Yuck!!!! And being that the driver actually asked me for a tip was extremely exhausting! The bill would've probably come out to like $30 because it was a large percentage gratuity if I would've tipped, and I didn't even order rice or lomein!!!! I hate it when men ask me for money when it's supposed to be the other way around. What a welcome and pleasant surprise. I'd read Dale F's review from about a year ago and bookmarked this location. We were in the mood for Chinese food after trying to dine at another restaurant. I checked my bookmarks and this place came up nearby. Then I called to make sure we could dine in and that they were open on the holiday. Yes and yes! The restaurant is mainly a takeout place -- and they were doing nonstop pickup/takeout while we were there. But they do have four 4-top tables, so we decided to eat in. Food came in takeout containers (which was perfect as we had lots of leftovers) but we were given plastic silverware, chopsticks, and coated paper plates. I got a regular egg roll to start -- they have 3 different kinds. It was just the kind of wrapper and filling I like -- fresh inside not mushy, and a crispy outside. We shared a small order of boneless spareribs and a large order of shrimp lo mein. Both were quite good. I should have gotten the rice noodles which are thinner and my preference, but wasn't concentrating. Staff was very pleasant even though they were very busy. They even delivered our order to our table on a tray with condiments, napkins, straws for the sodas, etc. We brought most of our meal home -- lunch tomorrow? A four star dinner at this location we saw had been recommended by fellow Yelpers. Friendly service at the counter and our food brought to the table when it was ready. Food is good and this restaurant is always a great decision to order especially late at night. The only negative is that the delivery driver(s) do not follow instructions. Clear instructions were given about how to deliver the food and they were ignored. Once again the food is good and well worth your money but if you gave instructions for your delivery don't have high hopes that they'll be followed/respected. read more

This place is hidden gem tucked away inside a strip mall. The restaurant looks like a greasy spoon but it's not. The food is very good even the combination house fried rice delicious and the portion sizes will not disappoint. Service was fast. This was an "in a pinch, we are hungry" moment. So, we decided to stop here since it was nearby and Chinese food is always a good idea. I ordered the shrimp lo mein. I did not know it also came with fried rice. What a pleasant surprise! We had driven for a WHILE before actually eating this. The meals were still piping hot but the egg rolls and crab rangoons needed to be heated up. The crab rangoons were pretty good. They could have used more cream cheese. My shrimp lo mein was very good. Great flavor and not too salty like it sometimes is. I tasted the honey chicken and it was good. I would not order it just because that much sweetness on my chicken is not my thing...but still a good choice if you like this type of chicken dish. I was disappointed with the egg rolls. I thought mine had an odd flavor. I didn't eat much of it. I actually had leftovers for two more meals. Prices were reasonable. read more

Anyway, the Chinese food is the definition of three stars. Not bad. Not great. The service was the same - short to the point and not overly friendly. The ambiance is a weird seafood vibe complete with a faux fishing net on the wall that I still don't get. Was a little disappointed at the amount of plastic waste generated as well. My family and I have been eating here for years. The food and service has been consistently good! Today, we decided to try new entrees. My husband went with the orange chicken dinner, which is served with chicken fried rice. He enjoyed his meal and complimented the chicken not being overly breaded. I decided to go with the bourbon chicken dinner. I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. This is a good Chinese restaurant that I like to get takeout food from they have a nice menu of choices and some great lunch specials. I love their soups, eggrolls, lo mein, and chow mein. The Missing Egg Roll cost them hundreds of dollars in future business. I was a long time customer until tonight. The food is ok, delivery is mostly good. They made a huge mistake with me tonight that no restaurant should ever make. They lost my business over a single shrimp egg roll. I've spent over $800 with New China over the past 14 months. Tonight I placed my usual order - 4 shrimp egg rolls, 1 crab rangoon, a chicken hunan and 3 cans of diet coke - bill total $39.00 incl $5 tip and $2.00 delivery fee. This typically means 4 to 5 meals for me. The egg rolls I eat for breakfast, crab rangoon makes two lunches, etc. These people know me, so I call the woman - she may be a part owner - I don't know. She didn't remember the order although I called her about an hour after I placed it. I gave her my address and then miraculously she remembered and proceeded to argue with me that she remembered placing 4 egg rolls in the bag. She knew how often I ordered from them but she kept arguing with me - over a $1.95 egg roll! She ended asking "so you want me to give you a free one?" That one missing egg roll and her nasty reaction killed any future business from me. Besides there's a new Chinese restaurant that just opened closer by. Their coconut shrimp is fantastic! So long New China ... you need to learn about customer service, then maybe you could get more than a 3 star average. read more

New China is a hidden gem. They have recently remodeled and revamped their menu. The customer service has always been spot on. But I have to say since relaunching, the food is better than ever. They are clean, and the food is beyond fresh. The to-go containers are fully sealed which locks in the heat of your food. The food doesn't get soggy, your chicken maintains it's crunch. This place is located in the Winn Dixie plaza on commercial and 31st ave. There was no one when I walked in so I was little skeptical at first. They do keep the floors and the place clean so that was good. When I got to the front counter I started to look at the menu and a 12ish year old boy walks up and asks me what I want. I guess it was the owners son. He seemed knowledgeable and mature for his age so I didn't mind. The food came out pretty quickly. The rice was hot and fresh. The chicken was cooked just right and went well with the sour sauce. The only thing I wished they had was low sodium soy sauce.
