Every time my dad comes to town we have to eat here. One weekend we ate there twice. They have the best Mexican food around. We won't eat Mexican anywhere else. We love the outdoor patio. This has moved up in the ranks of being my most favorite place to come eat and have a few drinks! The bartender, Alma, is spectacular! She listens to what you like and offers honest recommendations. My personal favorite is the Coco Loco! It wasn't something that I would have ordered normally on my own. SOOOOO GOOODDDDDD!! The food service is fast and on point. I love the street tacos. The green sauce that comes with it is so yummy! They have a Mariachi band that isn't like your normal Mariachi. They are very entertaining! They dance with you, ask for request and include you in the songs! So fun! To sum this review up, GO EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY at Chepe's! Sit at the bar and ask for Alma! I'd like to start by saying our server was prompt and on the spot no issues except one that he may not even be aware of so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. We use to frequent this location several times a week for an after work beer and or to go food to carry home as well as appetizers while we drank. As the prices have went up the portions have gotten smaller. The food we did get small cheese dip etc while waiting for to go food was good. Now the fairly important negatives. More times than not when we've sat down and already ordered we were then told the draft beer was out of service not just a particular flavor but the whole thing. So if you were looking for a beer it meant you would be paying 4$ a bottle. So you say order something else it goes w/o saying that a Mexican joint and draft beer go hand in hand and an alternative is an unsweet tea at 3$ ...no thanks and I can drink water at home. What used to be 3$ a 30oz beer had even went up to 4.50$ last one I checked. Ok here's the big clincher not to go back. When we went to pay for our order 46$ for a cpl to go orders and a small cheese dip. I noticed when we got home that well taxes are now over 10% to start with but the 2$ credit card fee really jerked my chain. That's completely absurd. For starters I would have paid in folding money had I known and no it's not the 2$ it's just all the other nickle and diming you are getting in the mean time and no heads up from the server. It's had to calculate the single take from prob over 80% of the customers who pay with a card of some sort but a really conservative take would mean the business is taking in an extra $75,000 a yr (based on just 100 tickets a day paying with a card) just for this fee alone and no I can assure you that's not what they are paying the processing company for the service. I expect the 50c to go charges for boxes but cmon all these things together made it a bad bad experience. The worst part is the food itself for what it is ,cheap Mexican food , was still tasty so it's a shame we won't be back. In all we left a good tip but I feel for a family struggling and doesn't go out that much getting 20% on your bill and then expecting a 15% or more tip on top is disappointing. read more

Don't waste your time or money ordering take out. Placed the order, was told it would be ready at 5:10pm. Arrived a few minutes early, food was ready to go. Opened the bags to double check the food. The food was ice cold and items were missing. I brought to the attention of the hostesses, who were very rude from the start, at which point they said it would be another 45 minutes to an hour for two tacos and they refused to offer a refund. disappointed with this restaurant. Ordered a taco salad which turned out to be one of the most lackluster dishes I could ever imagine. They were skimping on the protein, as well as the Fajitas Taco Salad shell being fresh. Talked to the Mgr. His sentiments to me were that the shell was soggy because it had been sitting out too long. He told me he was sorry, turned away, and left. Needless to say, I won't be back to Chepe's Mexican Restaurant in Benton ever again....and to serve a soggy salad with a plastic fork is sad! read more

Now at Chepes mexican Grill when you order a kids meal online they will refuse to give you the drink that you order....even though you pay for it with the kids meal. The manager will stick to her guns and not honor the fact that the drink is paid for with the meal and the meal is supposed to come with a drink....in her words "drinks are only for dine in orders for kids meals "....we won't be going back!...not that they care. read more

Not impressed. Waited quite a while to get our drink orders. From the time we walked in until we got our food was 35 minutes. My husbands food was barely warm. Quality was okay, but not that food. When we got the bill, we were charged .55 for green sauce (instead of red) for my enchilada, another .55 for red sauce on my husbands enchilada, and a $1.45 to pay with my credit card. Went to eat there with my in-laws and it was 90 egress plus outside. My mother in law proceeded to sit on the bench by the hostess stand and was told she could not sit that close to the stand and had to sit on the bench in the sun. The hostess took up the whole shaded area with her stand when she could have moved her stand over to allow people to sit. She was extremely rude and not friendly at all. This is the 2nd time we have received poor customer service. We have told all our friends and neighbors and they have experienced the same thing at this location. read more

My fiancées birthday was the day after Christmas and I called maybe 1 hour and 30 min before needed time for a party of ten. First time here prior to going to the movies. Sat on front newer deck because it was finally a beautiful night in Benton. Beware though the noise from I-30. Restaurant also has a back patio area which seems like it would be quieter. Had a Mango Margarita on the rocks and it was delicious. Wife had a regular margarita on the rocks and it too was very good and only $2.99. I had the Ranchero Chihuahua which was shrimp, steak, chicken and bacon over a bed of rice covered with cheese. It was amazing!! Wife had Ranchero with chicken and shrimp and she was very satisfied as well. We will definitely be back. Huge portions and the prices were good. Service was spot on a Tuesday night. Came on a Monday before lunch rush knowing that service would be fast. I got a really great drink that I forgot the name of, but tasted if coconut. Me and my granddaughter went to Chepe's for lunch today. Very clean and followed all the ADH regulations. We were seated and brought chips and salsa. We were then brought our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. Me asked for a couple of minutes to look at menu. SO..I had to 'hail' someone to place the order ...and we waited and waited. We were the first couple to sit in our area. One couple was brought meal and almost done when I went to the front desk to ask about our food. I let them know we were not asked for refills and if we didn't get our food in 10 minutes we were leaving. A minute or so later 2 meals were brought to us..that actually belonged to another table. We got our meal about 5-6 minutes later. Total time to wait was about 20-25 minutes. (They weren't that busy due to most tables being unavailable.)The food was very good..but the service was very lacking. I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Anytime I have been in the last year, service has been poor, no matter the size of the group or how busy it was. But, this takes the cake. My dad ordered at 5:30, was told his food would be ready at 5:50, arrived about 6:00 and paid. Looked at his ticket again about 6:45 and saw that it was the wrong order with the wrong car description on it. So, he attempted to get help from 3 different employees. Either his money back or his food. In addition to dealing with a smartalec teenage staff member, when he finally got his money back and food at 7:35, he went home to discover it was nowhere close to what he had ordered. read more

Tried Cheoe's. We were told from the hotel it was new and close by. Not going back. Salsa was good, but chips not so good. I would recommend they find better chips. Quest was good. We ordered beef fajitas for 2 we changed up one side plate to be grilled veggies and charro beans. The margaritas were good! The grilled veggies were seasoned well but were cold in the middle. The charro beans were cold and we paid an up jar he of $2.50. We had to send them back to be microwaved until steaming hot. We had to ask for a spoon and tortillas. The beef fajitas was cut into mani bite size pieces and was way overcooked and burnt on the plate. We are spoiled living in Texas where great fajitas are all around us and know that when traveling we need to expect less. The portions were large and the price was good, however we will choose another spot whenever we are in the area again. read more

My husband and I decided to try Chepe's on our date night last night. It was busy, but we were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. Chips and salsa were brought right away and we ordered beverages. It was another 15 minutes before our server came by to take our appetizer order. We ordered the sampler appetizer, which was good but it took 45 minutes to get! A table nearby was seated after us and had their dinner before we got our appetizer. My husband ordered seafood ranchero for dinner, which had imitation crab on it (menu says crab) and 2 shrimp. I ordered vegetarian fajitas, which were good but were brought with no tortillas, so we had to flag our server down. That took another 5 minutes, to ask for tortillas and napkins. The napkins never came. Then we had to flag someone else down just to get our ticket so we could leave after waiting and waiting. Our server was nowhere to be seen most of the night. I realize that we're in the middle of a pandemic, but they appeared to have a full staff . I just don't feel like we got the service we should have and am disappointed. Be sure to plan lots of time to wait if you eat here. read more

Had a terrible experience. Waited an hour for our food and as soon as we asked about it, here it come. The food was cold and some of our order wasn't what we ordered. We asked for the manager and she said those items would be taken off out ticket. Then our waiter brought our bill and we were being charged anyway. We had to tell him 3 times to remove those items from our bill. Still didn't get it right. We were so aggravated by then we just paid it znd got out of there. Won't be back. read more
