I have used them several times over the years, but admittedly have shopped them over price as well. No longer. Bought some tires the other day and intended to do brakes and oil change in one stop. The price was competitive on the tires so I decided to go local over chain. Forgot how nice it is to deal with good, local people. Plus they checked the brakes and told me they were good. Most places would have still sold me the brakes, just swapped, no questions asked. I appreciated they are looking out for the best interest of the customer, not just profit. After taking my class C motorhome twice to a national chain tire store for a bad vibration problem. They were stumped . I decided enough and went to Cherokee tire . Well all it took was me explaining the vibration problem and when it first occurred. The tire tech got right to the problem. The right inside rear tire had a belt go bad. So they replaced that tire .Plus the front tire needed to be repositioned on the rim. Problem solved and the motorhome runs like it should with only 11,500 miles. Unbelievable service!!!! My sister had a flat tire so we had the car towed there. The next morning when they opened they worked her into the schedule and had her on her way so she wasn't late for work. Price for a new tire was VERY reasonable!! The following week my "Low Tire Pressure" light came on so I drove right to Cherokee Tire and they worked me in and checked out my tires and put air in them. WOW! Thanks to another crappy repair shop, I took my car here to get a flat tire repaired. They jumped right on it - the team work was impressive, the customer service was star quality and the time it took to repair the tire was minimal. Plus without even being told to, they put the fixed tire back on my car (which matched my other 3 tires) and put the spare back where it originally was - under the car. Then they said the cost for the whole repair was $20. I was so shocked at the low price I said "$20??? That's all?" The place was clean and comfortable and they do oil changes and brake jobs. Terrific, friendly service. The last night of a girls' trip resulted in a flat... not just any flat, but an unusual size large SUV tire... not in stock in Ellijay. An early morning call to Cherokee Tire rescued us. They called their delivery truck in the nick of time; we cruised in on a donut tire to meet-up halfway home with the delivery of our tire in Canton. The staff (we spoke to several) could not have been any friendlier. They even drew a map to steer us to a great lunch spot; they phoned us during lunch to report that the tire had arrived. Great first experience! I walked in and the waiting room was nearly full, so thought it would take a long time. Was in and out in less than 45 minutes! Poor quality and service. After 2 previous sets of tires replaced at Cherokee tire, combined with best price in the area, I felt I could take my 2014 Toyota Tacoma brand new aluminum 17 in rims and have them mount some new rubber and transfer the tire sensors over from factory rims to my new rims. They ordered me a new set of Cooper Discovery AT3 tires. After install, having got home and driven it a bit I noticed a vibration. Upon inspection I found none of the yellow tire alignment dots were aligned with the valve stems and several rims had excess amount of stick on weights 12 + inches. I was upset to say the least. I returned vehicle for repair. Upon again receiving vehicle back, none of the dots were aligned, my brand new rims had tons of scratch marks in the paint (looked like something sharp was used to remove old stick on weights when they had to rebalance tires) and several places where previous weights were placed still remained gummy foam adhesive which they refused to remove from rims. When I confronted the manager, he was rude and very hateful. Insisted his guys did everything right. As the disagreement progressed his professionalism completely disappeared. This guy down right stated "we don't work on show quality vehicles here at Cherokee Tires" and "if you are so worried about your rims getting scratched and dinged you should take them to another tire center that charges more". This statement spoke a thousand words to me and I hope everyone who reads this. Cherokee Tire management couldn't be anymore unprofessional. Not only that, not once did they offer to try to repair my scratched rims or clean the sticky foam adhesive off of my rims. These guys are working in the stone ages. They still use standard floor jacks (4 each) and take no care to protect your vehicle. Be wary of this tire service center especially if you have low profile rims or nice aluminum rims that you want to keep looking nice. Never again would I use Cherokee Tires nor would I recommend anyone use them just because of their lower prices. It's not worth the damage they may cause. read more
