Brought my car in on a Saturday for new brakes. They had to order parts so they kept it until Monday. Went to pick up my car around 3pm Monday afternoon and didn't look in the back seat until 5:50pm when I noticed the back seat ripped up with the seat cushion foam all over the seat (like an animal got inside). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I immediately reached out to East Cobb Auto and they claim the rip didn't happen on their watch and I must have ripped up the seat in those two hours and brought it back for them to repair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Obviously it happened from Saturday to Monday while in their custody. They claim they do a four door inspection upon completion of work. Obviously that didn't happen either. East Cobb Auto would not cover the seat repair costs I incurred nor did they offer to cover any portion of the repair cost. We have been customers for over 30 years and this was handled very poorly and unprofessionally. Would not recommend leaving your car in their care. read more

I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and the price for repair was very reasonable. Though I thankfully did not have to wait long, I loved the waiting room. They had a jean material couch that was really comfy and awesome decor including a dressed skeleton that must have been waiting much longer than I had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have been going to East Cobb Auto for over 20 years with a small fleet of 5 personal cars.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't have as many cars now and not in the area anymore but since [[HIGHLIGHT]]I always trusted them I continued to use them even though I live in Florida but do come back for family visits.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My last visit in October was my last though. I was left high and dry by a brand new battery that went bad. That can happen anywhere though but [[HIGHLIGHT]]the service I received when I asked for help was wholly unacceptable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was given completely bad information about how the warranty would work on the battery and then brushed off. That is wholly unacceptable to me as I was stuck hundreds of miles away and they are telling me to go to an AC Delco store with the battery for a replacement but I have to prove that the battery is bad. I obviously had no transportation at that point AND none of what they told me was even true for my situation as you can have the battery replaced with any brand and AC Delco will take your word for it that the battery is bad but you will need to supply receipts and pictures of the battery. That is much, much easier than what they told me I had to do before they brushed me off. And now because of that bad information I am out additional money and time but did get some extreme frustration out of it. And the other repair work which I finished for that vehicle in Florida was 26% lower than their quote which gave me $1,000 savings. That was the silver lining. I cannot recommend this place enough. Kevin is the friendliest and best person I have ever dealt with. The techs here are very skilled. I've been in 4-5 times after many people in my neighborhood recommending it. I'll give one example of my great experience. Had a car problem and after a day of diagnosis they determined the fix was part of a part recall on my car and if I took it to the dealership they'd do it for free. They didn't want to charge me for a repair I could get done for free so they only charged me for the oil change I got that day! Then when I took it into the Chrysler dealership they spent a week with the car, charged me $800 to replace a different part they thought it was only to discover that didn't fix it and arrive at the conclusion East Cobb Auto did in one day! The shop was recommended by an auto parts store further down the road and had five stars on google, so I figured I would give them a shot, big mistake. I have a 2006 Honda Pilot that wasn't blowing hot air in the front of the car but was blowing hot air in the back of the vehicle. After doing some research online, I was 90% certain my air mix actuator needed to be replaced. Looking at some videos online, it didn't seem like a complicated process or time-consuming. Still, I figured I would save some time by taking it to a mechanic because of time-sensitive projects at the house. My thought was, it can't be more than $400, but I was wrong. The shop called me back and confirmed it was the Air Mix actuator, no surprise. However, the surprise came when they quoted me the cost for the repair, which came in at $700. The explanation given was the replacement part was $400, and labor was going to cost $300. Here is why this quote is thievery pure and simple. I found the identical replacement part at Napa auto parts for $200. They don't use "customer supplied" components, is what they told me cause they warranty the equipment if purchased from the carmaker. The same crap Jiffy Lub pulls when they require you to use full synthetic on a 1990 Toyota Camry, and it's just a ploy for you to spend more money. Here is the craziest part, they wanted to charge me $300 for labor. I bought the parts from Napa and timed myself on the replacement. It took me 52 mins. I've never worked on cars before, and this was my first-ever replacement of a component that wasn't a battery or air filter. If you think about that for a sec, it means the company is ok with eye-gouging its customers so their mechanics can make $300 an hour. I would look elsewhere for your car repair needs. Also, I repaired my car for $200, which was the cost of the part. read more

I used to consider East Cobb Auto care to be the best car repair place anywhere. Unfortunately, I can't say that anymore. They've gotten so busy, they can no longer take care of their regular customers. I've always had fantastic experiences when Kevin is running the front desk. He's a very friendly guy who has an amazing talent for remembering customers. But when he's not there - bad news. Now, they're telling people they have to wait days for service as basic as an oil change. I think it's unreasonable to expect someone to go days without a car. This could be managed by allowing customers to make appointments, but they won't do that. Kevin deserves days off. It's a shame that they have not hired people humble enough to learn customer service from him. The man running the desk today was demeaning enough in making it clear to me that if I couldn't work around their schedule they were too busy for me that they ran off a 10+ year loyal customer. read more

I called Thursday afternoon to speak to the shop manager Doug. He was busy 'underneath' a car. I get that and am ok with it...life is busy. Colin was the desk guy that I spoke with and he took my message which I clearly stated I needed to talk to Doug about taking a work vehicle there for some work, I just wanted to make sure they could take it the following morning. never got a return call. I called Friday at 8:45 and informed them I will never do business with them again. 10's of thousands of dollars and not worthy of a return call. I can always trust whatever repairs East Cobb Auto recommends for my car. They always call to authorize any repairs, and take time to explain specifically what the problems are. There are no "stupid" questions when talking to their mechanics and customer service reps, and they listen seriously when you try to imitate the strange noises your transmission is making. Their prices are very competitive, and I have never felt ripped off upon picking my car up. OK...first of all, don't go here. I don't want it to get busy and keep me from getting in :) This is BAR NONE the best shop I have ever gone to. They diagnosed a problem with a recent vehicle that I bought a couple of months ago. The fix was ~$1500 (the car cost me $6k to begin with, so that fix was not insignificant). The owner asked me if I minded him keeping it a bit longer so he could make extra sure that was the real problem. He called back 2 hours later, outlining everything he had done to confirm the issue (it was extensive!), and said it was definitely the root cause. Well, that's not all he did...first, he said that there would be no charge for the diagnosis because he wanted me to be able to use that money towards a different vehicle that I'd like more, knowing that I'd fallen quickly out of love with the car. That's AFTER I had already said to go ahead with the fix...yes, they ACTUALLY said not to pay them almost $2k because weighed on the scales I'd be better off doing something else...and that "something else" puts NO MONEY in their pockets! Those folks are outstanding. They are the best shop in town and I'd recommend them to anybody (well, except for you guys because I don't want them to be too busy for me :)). I have returned to East Cobb Auto Center now that my Toyota Corolla is completely out of warranty. I was willing to but up with poor service as long as it was free (or highly discounted), but now that I have to pay the bills, it's East Cobb for me. I have been dealing with them for almost 14 years, and I have to say that they have always been as honest and dependable as I could hope to find. They always offer options - you can do A or B and the price and risks for both. Never once have they suggested dubious repairs or services. Sure, I have tried other places for auto services, and invariably I steer my Toyota back to East Cobb when I am disappointed elsewhere. I guess I have learned my lesson. read more

I can't say enough good things about East Cobb Auto. I've used them many times and each time they have been honest and done a great job fixing my car. I had gone to them about six months ago and found that I needed a new starter. They did the work and I was very happy with the results. Two nights ago my car wouldn't start. I called them and they said, get it towed and they would check on it first thing in the morning. Surprisingly it was the starter again. They fixed it at no cost to me at all. Repair was done quickly and they took time to listen to me when I dropped the truck off and spent time explaining what options I had to fix it, what was needed and why and then called a few days after I picked up the truck to make sure I was happy with their work - which I was. I would rate them average on price but they appear to run an honest shop, the shop is neat and clean and they stand behind their work. I was pleasantly surprised and would strongly recommend them. Turns out they only replaced ONE of the connectors, silly me for assuming they would do the job right the first time. It was only after driving off that I also learned that my radio no longer worked. I took my son's car to the East Cobb Auto Care Center to determine why it has been squeaking on and off for months. I had tried another chain auto repair shop twice and they still did not resolve the problem and charged me both times for service (which is fine; I expected to pay for each visit.). A few hours after dropping off my car to East Cobb ACC I got a phone call saying my car was fixed and was given a complete description of the problem and the resolution. And when I asked how much I owed, he said "it's on us - thanks for being a first time customer." Again, my service was free, but that is not why I am happy. I must admit...I am beyond words to describe my pleasant experience with ECAC!!! Mike and Kevin are the greatest! I had taken my vehicle to the dealership to have a check engine light diagnosed. I was told that the repair would be nearly $1000. I asked the dealer if there were less expensive options that could be considered. They told me no, that this was the only fix. I contacted ECAC, and shared with Mike the issue I was having. Mike told me there were 2 ways we could approach this; obviously one of the ways much less expensive than that quoted by the dealer. He started with the least expensive of the two options, and I'm ecstatic and blessed to report that it fixed the problem! No Check Engine light, and a big, fat PASSED on my inspection 4 days later!!! ECAC has definitely won my loyalty and my business. I know that every fix won't necessarily be a "nickles and dimes" repair, but your professionalism, humility, honesty, and knowledge were definitely on-point! I've already been spreading the word about your repair facility in the hopes of sending more business your way! I will neither bash nor reveal my dealership, but I must express how disappointed I am that they didn't consider any other option other than the most expensive. Big dealers have a lot they can learn from our small but honest community businesses! Be honest with customers, even if it means you won't necessarily make a big buck the first time through... I have used this repair facility many times over the last 10 years. They are beyond honest. When expecting extensive repairs they have often come back with repairs of modest cost. I have always been able to get an appointment for the next day and the repairs completed the day of the appointment. Honest trust worthy people. Excellent service.
