Staff was very friendly and the restaurant has a fun outdoor seating area. You'll need to get there early because when they sell out of food they close! Cherries is a cool little BBQ just off the main drag in Polson. We tried both the pulled pork and the brisket sandwiches. The pork had the smoked maple sauce and the beef had their classic bbq sauce. Both were very tender and had a good smoke flavor. For sides we had the baked beans which were great, a side salad which was very fresh and tasty. We both also tried the ribbon fries which turned out to be more like potato chips but home made and fresh. They were good and a good serving size but we both expected actual fries so were a little disappointed. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. I've had this place bookmarked for 3 years and when I finally got the chance to dig in, I was underwhelmed. I didn't see a smoker or a grill outside and that should've been a red flag for me. I did see an oven in their kitchen and it's pretty telling why the meat was so tender. My boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich and he says it tasted like a pot roast sandwich. It didn't look or taste like it was smoked, rather pulled out of a crockpot. He also ordered the coleslaw which was sweet and the bacon corn. Bacon corn was good, but I was expecting more than just 1 little piece of bacon. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs with baked beans and ribbon fries. Although the meat fell off the bone, it was also "wet" as if it's been steamed or sitting in a bag for too long. Baked beans were ok and the ribbon fries were like homemade potato chips. I should've asked, but I thought they would be regular fries. They have outdoor seating and a drive through window. Picnic tables had umbrellas which was nice for a hot day like today. read more

I was on my way to Glacier National Park and was driving through Polson and came here for lunch due to the high reviews. There is no indoor seating but there are outdoor seating and tables. There's also a drive through if you want to order something and go. I ordered the brisket sandwich ($11) with ribbon fries and bacon corn. I asked the worker if she recommended brisket or pulled pork and she said the former. The brisket is SO tender and fatty and juicy. The sandwich is just the bun, meat, and sauce which makes it simple but that way you can really get the full brisket flavor. I got the bold sauce which is said to be garlic with mild heat and although it was good it was not really spicy at all. The ribbon fries are good and crispy although some are not as crispy as others which were still really good. It was just really oily which shows in the paper bag they give it in. They also give a lot and I didn't finish the bag. The bacon corn was sweet and salty. This is a great lunch spot; just make sure you get there before the lunch rush! read more

Made a stop here on the way around Flathead Lake. Cute spot! Lots is picnic table seating. Some have umbrellas for shade. It also has a drive through. I got the Pit Salad (full-HUGE!). SO GOOD! And my husband got 2 sandwiches. The "fries" here are AWESOME! They are like potato chips! And the coleslaw has some dill in it, taking it to the next level of deliciousness! Really enjoyed it here! I like to pick the top places on Yelp when passing through a town and needing to get lunch. I don't want to be disappointed and there's a reason that locals love these places. I was not only not disappointed by Cherrie's, I was blown away. The ribs were fantastic, as were the sauces (we had the Bold and the Smokey Maple.) The corn with bacon was my favorite side, and the beans, coleslaw, and fresh fried potato chips were close on the heels. We bought a lunch for two, and it was too much for the two of us, so we finished the rest to make a complete dinner. I don't know if we'll be back through Polsen ever again, but if we are, I'm going back to Cherrie's, for sure. read more

My daughter and I shared a platter with bbq brisket and bbq chicken with baked beans and ribbon fries. I also had a huckleberry lemonade. The brisket and bbq chicken were delicious. Absolutely something I would order again. My only complaint would be that the brisket didn't have any bark. The baked beans were a bit spicy but delicious. The ribbon fries were pretty much like house-made potato chips. Some were still slightly chewy, which was appealing. My daughter loved them (She's two). The lemonade was unfortunate. It was very watery with no distinctive flavor. That's really my only meh of the whole meal. We went through the drive-thru for our visit. The building itself is pretty dated looking and could use a new coat of paint or something. The lady who took our order was very friendly and helpful however. The business appears to be listed for sale, but we would definitely eat here again next time we are in the area if it is still open. read more

Some of the best barbecue I've had with a cute little area to eat next to it. We came right at closing and they encouraged us to take time ordering and we're still putting out several to go orders. We had the pork rib tips, ribbon fries, beef brisket sandwich, baked beans, peas and cheese salad, and a coke. We both had the jalapeño honey sauce with the meats which was a perfect balance of smoky/spicy/sweet. The pork rib tips AND brisket were falling apart tender with yummy bark on the brisket (see photo). There are lots of sauces to choose from, but def didn't need a sauce. The ribbon fries are almost chips and delish. The baked beans. Omg the baked beans. They are homemade and the best ones ever. The (cold) pea and cheese salad is unique and consists of peas, celery, cubes of cheese, tiny bit of green onion, and a creamy sauce with salt/pepper. Very light and nice. We ate our fill for $33 and had plenty of leftovers for another meal later while camping. 10/10 will be back. Disregard ALL other negative reviews. Eat here. It's delicious. read more

This was such a delicious "pit" stop - har har. But seriously, the combination of drive thru bbq during COVID combined with tasty eats and a neighboring park with beautiful views really hit the spot for us during our toad trip headed north to Whitefish. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, beans, creamed corn and coleslaw. All were delicious- I especially enjoyed the zesty yet creamy flavor profile of the coleslaw. The pulled pork was moist and generously sized. We were bummed to find out that they weren't serving chicharrones during our visit but hopefully you'll luck out during your visit. The park overlooking the lake is just a few blocks always with plenty of picnic benches. Outstanding BBQ! After a long day in Glacier National Park, we made the trek to sample the famous BBQ that is slow smoked over local cherry wood. It's a small place with outdoor seating, counter service only, and the wait staff are friendly and efficient. At 5:00 pm they only had one half order of ribs left, so of course we had to grab that. We also ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Meals came with choice of sides, and we chose the coleslaw and house made fries. The BBQ was so flavorful, tender, and moist. This is the best BBQ we've ever had. The fries were truly special. They were more like chips, but in spiral form. Coleslaw was good too. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable. Ribs were out of this world, fall of the bone, meaty greatness. Pulled brisket sandwich was great as well. Coleslaw: Good | Beans: real bbq beans, so some might not like | Side salad: Good | Corn: Great but i'd recommend adding a pinch of corn starch to thicken it up real good. Drinks were good, people were very friendly, cute number system (cow tags), and let us take a pen. Overall it was a good stop and we were all full hopping back in the truck. Only stopped through one weekend but we're a fan. We got the brisket sandwich with the pea salad and baked beans. The brisket was tender and the smoky bbq sauce married so well with it. The pea salad was fresh and the bite of the peas was very satisfying. The baked beans were good, however the white cannellini beans were a tad over cooked, adding a sort of mushed texture. I really liked their huckleberry lemonade with REAL huckleberries not just the syrup crap they like to add to drinks. Very tasty. We were in town for the cherries festival and stopped by for lunch. The place was really busy so we waited a long time to order and almost as long to get our food after ordering. The food was reasonably priced but nothing to write home about. They were out of brisket so we settled for pulled chicken and pork sandwiches. The barbecue sauce was really tasty on both but the meat wasn't well seasoned and had no smoke or bbq flavor, more like something you make in a crock pot. The beans were good but needed salt. Wow! My boyfriend and I drove from Spokane to Bigfork and stopped here on our way, per our Airbnb host's recommendation. Such a good call!! They have a drive thru option, outdoor seating, and indoor seating. It was a little chilly so we chose to sit inside. Kind of small but it wasn't too busy when we came in. They have a couple of specials on the wall that we only noticed after we had ordered off the menu. Might try those next time! They ran out of ribs by the time we got there (bummer, but they must be delicious!) so we both got brisket sandwiches. These come with a sauce of your choice (how cool that they have options for you to choose from!!) and 2 sides. I chose the jalapeño honey bbq sauce and my boyfriend chose the bold bbq sauce. Both were excellent! For the sides, I got cole slaw and the potato ribbons and he got the cole slaw and bacon cream corn. All of it was so good! We were actually really impressed by the bacon cream corn which came out looking a little underwhelming but was a huge hit for both of us!
