My husband and I flew into Denver at night and this was one of the few places that were open and we were HUNGRY so we decided to give Cherry Cricket a try. I gotta say that this was a great meal to start off our Denver trip! Cherry Cricket offers a variety of burgers that are pre made or the option to build your own. We opted to order one pre made burger (the cricket royale) and one build your own burger (which consisted of a bison patty, cheese, garlic aioli, jalapeno, and an egg). Let me start off with saying that these burgers are absolutely massive! I'd say the burger is big enough to share or if you decide to have your own, you'll either be really stuffed or come home with leftovers. The burgers themselves were both really good!! We asked for both medium rare and they did that perfectly and I'd say that all the flavors in the cricket royale worked so well together. I'd say that the price point for the premade burgers on the menu are pretty fair but the price for the build your own burgers can go up FAST dependent on what you add. We came at around 10pm and were seated immediately. The ambiance was casual, yet lively because there was still a decent amount of people there. They have plenty of TVs and a bar so I can see it being a great place to catch a game. The service was also friendly and attentive. read more

Came here on a whim looking for a good burger with my husband. I knew this has been a Denver staple for years, but I was extremely pleased to find why! The burgers we had were absolutely mouth watering, the patio we sat on was spacious and comfortable and relatively private with a fun retro vibe. Our server was polite and fast without being overly chatty or familiar which is personally something I appreciate. Husband ordered the 983 Big Cheesy which was like something out of Shaggy from Scooby Doo's dreams. It comes with Mac and cheese, a fried poblano, Jalepeno Cheetos (yes, CHEETOS!) l, bacon Jalepeno jam and a thick slice of "government cheddar." It melded so well though, and we both appreciated how even though it could've come across as a muddy, stoner burger, it was well executed, the Cheetos didn't even get soggy. I decided on the B.O.T.M (Burger of the month) which was a Birria burger. The consumé it came with was the perfect amount of slightly greasy, soupy and spicy. A good amount of shredded beef birria, onions and cilantro complemented the burger and overall it was just a fun culinary experience to have the Americana tradition of a delicious juicy burger fused with one of my favorite Mexican dishes. Last but NOT least we split the boozy Sweet Surrender shake which is made with chocolate vodka, peanut butter whiskey, Reese's, and icecream. Saw this place on Diners drive-in and Dives and many Denver food lists. Unfortunately didn't live up to the hype. Burgers were super basic, like the frozen patties and generic cookery you get at a company picnic. The best thing we had was the green chili, which was quite tasty. The Cherry Cricket has always been a staple for me and I'm happy to still see it thriving in Cherry Creek North. Everything is changing in that area. It's good to be at an original restaurant in the area. The carpet in the main dining room was ripped out. The restaurant must have bought the outside area a.k.a. backyard from the dry cleaning company that owned the property for so long. The majority of the food we ordered were appetizers. We had the: Hot herbed artichoke dip Pretzel sticks & queso Crispy mac & cheese bites Guacamole & salsa I also ordered a cup of R&C pork green chili, which came with a warm tortilla. I certainly had high hopes going in, the pictures of the food looked great and the fact that is commonly referred to as the black sheep of cherry creek had me intrigued. The service was very friendly, I would say that and the ambiance was nice, think dive bar old school vibes are what make this place unique. However, the food did not cut the muster. My wife's burger lacked salt... it was literally the first time in my life I've seen her putting salt on a burger and my speciality burger had some interesting ingredients on it like pork belly- but when it comes to flavor and construction was substandard. I was excited to have finally make it here for a burger - I had heard lots of good things, but I ultimately came away disappointed. I sat at the bar and ordered the Cricket Royale burger. My first impression of it that it was super greasy and soaking wet. Just picking up the burger, my hands were completely soaked. The top bun was greasy, and the bottom bun was soaked all the way through, and was fallen apart by the time I finished eating. The burger itself tasted ok, but it did not stand out like an award winning burger they have it listed as. I ordered fries, which I liked, but the burger was so heavy, and the fries did not come with the burger, that I don't think they were worth getting. Finally, I got a vanilla milkshake, which I did enjoy. Overall, I would not go out of my way to return or recommend this place. I did not think it was a great value, mainly because the fries and burger do not come together, so you end up paying $25+ for a burger for one person after tax and tip. And when I walked away thinking that I paid $35 for an average burger, fries, and shake, I realized there are so many other places in Denver I could recommend for that or for less. Cherry Cricket, the famed black sheep of Cherry Creek, somehow still impresses after all these years. Hailed as one of Denver's best burger places, I'm shocked if anyone says they don't have an enjoyable burger here. When you see the legendary Duffy's sign you know you're in the right place. Entering the restaurant I've mostly received weird interactions upon entry. They do, in fact, seat you, but often times I've had bad luck and find myself waiting for an employee to seat us. There are plenty of dining rooms indoors like booths, community tables, and bar seating. But the Cricket is known for their massive outdoor patio. Part of it is covered underneath a gigantic tent set up, the other picnic table style seating overlooking the foot traffic of Cherry Creek. What to order at the Cricket? They do have some signature burgers they're known for that have won awards at burger festivals. The green chile relleno burger stands out because I don't know how they invented this concoction, but it's a beast of a burger that has DENVER written all over it. More often than not, the Cricket Burger is the pro move. A customizable half pound burger with the toppings of your choice. The one I had the other night was with American Cheese, Bacon, and Jalapeños. It was cooked perfectly, an undeniable beefy flavor. It was a damn memorable burger. Oh. And the frings (with ranch) are a MUST. The knock of the star just boils down to the restaurant being too big, which means occasionally you feel like the forgotten stepchild depending on if your section is busy or not. We heard this was a must try during our visit to Denver. We were lucky enough to grab a spot at the bar and we're greeted by a friendly bartender. The old fashioneds were perfect in a snowy day. We ordered the cherry bombs to start. These were delicious and the raspberry pepper jam was delicious. I followed with a green chile relleno burger which left me less than impressed. There wasn't much green chili on the burger, the relleno was dry, and the burger lacked flavor. My bf, on the other hand, very much enjoyed the jammin poblano burger. Not sure why it took me so long to try cherry cricket but now that I have, I'm obsessed. Stopped in late on a Sunday night and it was still crowded! We got seated promptly and service was fast and timely. We got 2 burgers and they were kind enough to cut it for us and bring it out separately with separate pickles on each which we were pleasantly surprised by. The jammin poblano burger is probably the best burger I've had in a while. The big cheesy was also objectively really good. And the chipotle aioli was a must for the fries (which are ordered separately). Almost licked off my fingers!! The food was superb and it has great pricing for the results. The proportion is great and they served it with thick meat patties! The sauce was sooooo good and added the missing touch to the burgers flavoring. You can tell: they give you quality meat and great grilling with balanced bitterness to add to the sweetness of the caramelized onions. The service was very good. Our server was Meghan L. She made the ordering process quick and easy and they gave great recommendations for what to get. A great personality balance of down to business and happy to help. Absolutely loved this restaurant. Especially the ambiance. It was spacious but full and social at the same time- not overly crowded. The lighting was warm, low, and comfy: which created a very chill and social atmosphere for table fellowship. I loved their decor of collected beer-faucet handles and different antique street signs. Cherry Cricket has been my go-to place for an occasional burger going back forty plus years. It used to be easy to park, go in, meet friends, have some beers and food and watch the game. As many of us know, the Cricket and Cherry Creek can be very busy most of the time. When I do go, it's to enjoy a cheddar cheese green chile burger usually with sweet potato or French fries, along with a seasonal beer. Pure satisfaction! This was a fun place to go while I was in town visiting family. I met family here for pretty big event. The service was really good and wait staff were nice and friendly. The food was very hit and miss unfortunately. I had the 720 JAMMIN' POBLANO* which was very well made and done at perfect medium rare. My brothers THE CRY BABY* was also very good but one other brothers got the ALL-AMERICAN CHICKEN sandwich and it came out very poorly made it looked like it had been fried till it was blackened and it was undercooked in the middle. He has had order the teriyaki wings but they came out, tasting like molasses with very little hint of teriyaki at all and were unfortunately not very good. My mother enjoyed her fish tacos and so did my sister in law but unfortunately it seems there's a bit of inconsistency when it comes to food in the kitchen the burgers at this place we're good but everything else seemed to be either OK or terrible... which is very disappointing considering this restaurant reputation. The ambience is what you would expect from a burger joint it's laid back and fun and has easy going feel. Food I had a decent burger, this place has several Different types of sauces on each of their burgers and a create your own option. Some of their signature burgers had ingredients I typically don't eat but I took a chance on caramelized onions. It was a sweet burger overall but everything else was cooked well. The fries were also pretty good. They offer huge drinks in the red Coca Cola cups so that was nice. Service The waiter was friendly and checked in frequently enough for a decent tip from me. About 4 check ins in 20 minutes or so which is good in my book. Ambiance This place is very hipster with different types of stickers on the walls, a bar, and an outside area for families to eat if they choose. Yikes my first not so good review!! This is not my first time at Cherry Cricket and I was really excited to be back. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. First, beer batter fries are always 10/10. However, burger seemed like it was from a box. Not impressed. Don't come for the drinks. I ordered the same drink and tasted completely different the second time. The server said it's because the bartenders were super busy.... It happened to be a windy day. A gust of wind sent an umbrella with a table flying. A gal from my party went to pick it up before it flew into the next restaurant and a kind gentleman at a table close by came to help. Not one server came over to help. Then no employee went around and closed the umbrellas at the other non occupied tables. Safety hazard! Finally, there is a 3.5% surcharge so the business can "pay their back staff employees"... how about you raise each dish by $0.20 and pay your employees accordingly. This is a restaurant in one of the wealthiest, if not the wealthiest, part of Denver. Cheesy. I will say it's very family and dog friendly. read more

We came for St Patty's day, and this place was PACKED. They had live music, which was fun, and despite how busy they were, our server was on top of it. This is on the edge of Cherry Creek, and way more down to earth than many of the other restaurants there- it almost has a dive bar feel (which I mean in all the best ways). The food doesn't pull any punches. Lots of unique toppings- we got a burger with pimento cheese on it and a raspberry jam, which I had never had and was fabulous. I also got the boozy samosa milkshake, which tasted exactly like the cookie. The jabba punch was on special for $10, and was really good! Our server had no idea what was in it because it was so new, but the mystery added to the fun. The onion rings were perfect too.
