We were at the performers' 3 o'clock; I will say the angle of spotlighting in our eyes took some getting used to but did not deter. Not sure how far back the comedians could actually see our faces with/without the spotlight. Opening acts were Jimmy Earll (@jimmyearll) and Diego Curiel (@awkwarddiego). Diego had me cracking UP! JR had a good set, with the crowd participation, improv with the acoustic guitar, and he even brought his dad up onstage toward the end! 2 drink minimum; the server let us each get 1 drink and 1 food item instead. I got nonalcoholic drink The Bell Ringer (spirit-free whiskey, strawberry, ginger, fresh lemon, bitters), and we shared the buffalo mac & cheese and pretzels with cheese. The staff here are very hardworking and nice. I never understood why comedy clubs force people to purchase items. Sometimes people don't want to drink or eat anything, and just want to enjoy the show, so why is it a thing? Alcoholic drinks start at ~ $15 and I think I seen one go for as much as almost $25? Food is pricey and is gas station quality. Makes it hard to enjoy the place when I'm forced to get something and it's not good ): I tried the chocolate cake ($13) and it was way too sweet. The $6 can of water was good. I will say they bring a good variety of comedians here but with how pricey and forced everything is, I rather just stay home and watch the comedians online / via streaming.

Took her to see Saul Trujillo and he killed his set! All the staff here were extremely gracious. We had an absolute blast watching the comedians perform in the show room. I always assumed the theatre was just the stage you see driving by. To my shock there was a whole other room filled with a larger stage and tons of tables and chairs. Sound was immaculate as the comics were coming in loud and clear. The pretzel here was bomb! Their cheese spicy too. I would definitely order that again. Drinks came out quick. Although you're pretty close to other tables it never feels uncomfortable. Clean bathrooms and overall venue too. I love the location of this comedy venue being in the heart of Old Sacramento. There were three musical performances at the beginning when there was another couple with us. After they left however, he began talking at us about politics and what he thinks. I decided to head over for the Sunday night "cheaper Than Therapy" show on my own to try to pick myself up. I grabbed a liter of beer () from the bar and then we all crammed into the main stage, which was very intimate and cozy. I laughed and laughed and laughed, and I can genuinely say that I feel much better about things after going there tonight. The staff and host were all great. I think I'll make this a regular habit from now on when I visit SF. Rob.
