Came here on a Sunday mid-afternoon and the indoor seating was completely packed, definitely a popular spot. Thankfully there's lots of seating both inside and outside. Service was quick and friendly despite how busy it was. We ordered the 3+3 sampler with brisket, sausage, and pulled pork, along with sides of mac and cheese, fries, and cornbread. We also got an extra order of brisket with cucumber salad and potato salad. The brisket was easily the highlight, tender with a great balance of lean and fatty meat and packed with flavor. Unfortunately, that was also the only real standout. The sides were all good but not especially memorable, and the same could be said for the sausage and pulled pork. Tried Cherry Street Barbecue for the first time and as someone who's never had Texas BBQ before, I was pleasantly surprised. The brisket and cornbread were the standout favourites for me flavourful and tender. The mac and cheese and ribs were solid too (wish there was more bbq sauce) My boyfriend loved all the proteins, so it definitely hit the spot for him. I've been wanting to try Cherry Street BBQ for the better part of 5 years. I've been dancing around it but I never found the perfect opportunity to try it... until last Saturday. When I finally got the chance, let me tell you - I was NOT disappointed. Is it the best BBQ I've ever had? No. But the food was excellent and the vibes were IMMACULATE. I tried the Cherry Street Sampler for 4. The portions are very generous. We had to ask for to-go boxes, and this is something that I NEVER do. The brisket was very fatty and the chicken wings were crispy and super flavourful. More than anything, it's the sides that surprised me. The broccoli salad, corn elote, and coleslaw all cut through the heavy, fatty foods and complimented the main dishes perfectly. The pork ribs were a tad dry, and that's the only negative thing I could possibly say about Cherry Street. I would recommend that you go on a nice day. The patio is huge with tons of seating, and there's a bar right outside to ensure expedient delivery of alcoholic beverages. When I went, there was even a live band playing a medley of blues, soul, R&B, and indie rock. It was an incredible experience, and one that I wish to have again before the end of summer. Came in for some BBQ and were lucky. A few of my friends hadn't been to cherry street before so we decided to go. The weather was a bit crummy so it wasn't very busy. We were seated and placed drink orders. The flow is different because your server will cover your drinks and everything but we still ordered at the counter for our meals. I got the chicken sandwich with a side of beans and some coleslaw and shared an order of brisket. The chicken had some weirdly tough pieces which I didn't expect for something cooked low and slow. It might have been a tendon or something but it was a very strange bite. The beans were really nice but I didn't love the coleslaw. I'd go for the potato salad next time. The brisket had a really thick layer of fat through the middle that hadn't rendered down as much. Almost a quarter of the slice was fat :/ It's good but not great. Overall, I thought it was good, I'd give it an 8/10. My favourite was the chicken and sausage. Unfortunately, the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs I found quite dry. I really wished the ribs would pull off the bone, but you had to really bit into it. The brisket was tough too. All of the sides (beans, coleslaw, potato salad, cornbread) were delicious. Considering I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to place my order and then try to find seating, I wasn't happy when the payment machine defaulted to an 18% tip when really, no service had been provided at that point. Best brisket I've had in Canada!! Incredibly tender, smoky, peppery, juicy meat. The brisket was the highlight of the meal by far. The brisket beans were also amazing, packed full of flavor. The beans and the coleslaw (simple, not creamy, good tang) balanced each other out perfectly. The Mac and cheese was pretty decent, though nothing to write home about. And the banana pudding was a nice way to end; I liked the texture of the graham cracker crumble topping. All this was just shy of $70, which is not cheap... but since I rarely get good southern BBQ in Canada, it felt worth it to me. I had high expectations for this restaurant since it's listed in the Michelin guide, but I left thoroughly disappointed. This was my first visit with my family, and we ordered the small platter, which was advertised at $45. However, with just two soft drinks and a tip, the total came to nearly $80. For that price, I expected the BBQ to be exceptional, but unfortunately, everything was overly salted and had far too much black pepper. The sides--coleslaw, potato salad, and beans--were mediocre at best, and we barely touched our meal. Between three adults and a child, we left behind half a brisket and a whole rib because the food simply wasn't enjoyable. We also got two banana puddings, which were shockingly small, served in containers typically used for condiments. I was appalled to find out later they cost $10 each, which I only realized after checking our bank statement since it was my husband that went back in to buy them. The dessert was nothing more than basic pudding with a few banana slices on crushed graham crackers. For that quality, it should have been priced between $3-$5 at most. All in all, we spent over $100 on a meal we couldn't even finish, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Vibes were nice but I wouldn't come back just for that. read more

Their brisket was so tender, tasty, juicy and flavourful! It was so soft, unlike other places that sell brisket. Their pulled pork was also super juicy and soft.. not soft enough where it will dissolve in your mouth but not tough enough where it'll feel like the inside of your mouth is getting a massage. Their short ribs were good but not mind blowing and their sausage was okay as well. I got the sampler box with additional half rack of baby back ribs and I think this is gonna feed about 7-8 girl portions. That's a whole lotta meat!! It also comes with a small side of coleslaw and some delicious beans. I wish it came with some more veggies! Also , please note to be carefulllllll when opening the platter cuz mine spilled. Thankfully they wrapped it in shrink wrap so it was okay during the car ride. Not sure what all the fuss is over this place but after eating there this week I found the food to be mediocre at best and at the prices they charge not very good value for the money . There isn't much that will bring you around the area where this place is, until you try some of their BBQ. As is the case with most BBQ places, the brisket is the star of the show and the item that you absolutely must try. It's moist, tender, flavourful, and leaves you wanting more, even when you feel super full. That being said, the other meats on the menu are also spectacular and you should definitely try them. I also got the ribs and pulled pork, and they were great additions to the brisket. In terms of sides, I really have to recommend the mac and cheese. Super tasty and a great accompaniment to the meats. The coleslaw isn't the best I've had, but the mac and cheese was solid. Stop reading this and go get some BBQ.
