cherry's lounge on a sunny day

I knew about this place and was so excited to be invited to join them for dinner and drinks. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted! The place was super cute! I sat at the bar and got great service from Yakina and Esh the bartenders! I started with a yummy red sangria followed by a vodka martini. For my meal I for the grilled shrimp, mac and cheese and spinach. At first, the shrimp was a little salty, but they the cook fixed it real nice. I really enjoyed the spinach and mac and cheese! As the evening went on, the DJ came, and he was great! I really enjoyed my time!

Ambience: It's LOUD; but because of the vibes and music I still highly recommend in a setting where you aren't maybe having a FIRST date that requires a ton of talking. This is more like a second, third, ect date place; a group place; or if you wanna just go somewhere with club vibes. It's beautiful inside! Service: Our server was the bartender, she was very sweet. Food: THE FOOD IS WHY YOU MUST MUST MUST COME. Everything was full of flavor. My bae said it was the best catfish he'd ever had. Finally, I found a new go to wing spot. The mac and cheese was wildly cheesy and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes, didn't have gravy and I can fully say didn't need it-- so creamy, garlicky, and delicious.

I had the pleasure of dining here for brunch with a friend and I had a blast. The staff, the food, the service. Everything was a 10/10. We started off with the brunch carafes, We Had a Time Last Night and BTW Friends, and I believe the last was a bit better- the first was a little too sweet. Either way, they were both really good, but could use a lot less ice. Now. The food. My gosh. I don't think I've ever had soul food like this before, and this was just breakfast! First things first, the eggs were scrambled with cheese to perfection, the home fries were seasoned well and fried crispy as suggested, the beef bacon! Yum. I had my own reservations regarding the salmon cake though, but I'm beginning to realize that perhaps I'm just not a fan of them. The pancakes had that perfect crisp on the edges, and so did the French toast. The grits could have been a bit more creamier, but the seasoned shrimp definitely made me overlook it. Overall, this was a top tier breakfast/brunch and will forever be in my book of recommendations. If you haven't been here yet or are hesitant, don't waste any more time and check it out! Definitely visit! This place doesn't look like much from the outside but the food and service are everything! Local spot with what looks like locals who visit. Reminds me of the after hour spots in my own hometown but with bar and flat screen tvs. It was cute, cool and clean inside and the food was amazing! We ordered mostly appetizers to share and the mimosas and three shots of tequila. The bill came to just a little of 100 and there was plenty of parking in the area.

For drinks, we went with the non-alcoholic Rose and Peach Please, both of which were refreshing. I also had a cappuccino afterward--while it didn't come with latte art, the taste and strength of the coffee were spot on. On our return visit, we tried the chicken sandiwch, and the pomegranate hummus. The chicken was juicy and the hummus was delcious. Service was attentive throughout, with the staff checking in just enough to make us feel well taken care of. Overall, The Kitchen Step is an excellent find that I'd highly recommend.

We finally had the opportunity to do so on a quiet Easter Sunday. First, the interior looks pretty amazing. A lot of history behind all the architecture and they did a good job preserving it. Because it was raining and chilly, we couldn't see the rooftop, but I can see the appeal. To start, we got an assortment of small muffins for the table. That was a nice touch. They were good too. For brunch, we each ordered omelettes. I got the Jalapeño & Cheddar while my fiancée got the mushroom and spinach omelette. We ended up complementing the items quite well. I did end up enjoying her omelette well. The vegetables were definitely fresh and cooked quite well. My omelette was nice and cheesy, how I like it. The jalapeños didn't have a crazy kick, but enough to satisfy. The potatoes were good too. There's no real coffee menu here (which is a slight miss), but I did enjoy the freshly squeezed orange juice as a nice change. I will be back.

I just tell myself that my dewy glass skin reminds him of frying oil. Anyway, the last time we got together, he picked Skinner's Loft for brunch. I was ready to write the place off, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Skinner's isn't going to win World's Best anything, but it's a solid neighborhood spot with big portions for decent prices. The Buttermilk Pancakes were large, fluffy and satisfying. My Croque Monsieur was perfectly crispy and loaded with delicious melted bechamel, gruyere and prosciutto. One of the tastiest Croque Monsieurs I've had, including the ones I enjoyed living in France, and certainly bigger than its Manhattan counterparts. The Crispy Shrimp & Bacon Sandwich was also a pleasant taste bomb of basil, dill & cucumber remoulade, tomatoes, and, of course, bacon. Bottom line: Skinner's offers a brunch that's tastier and more affordable than many NYC joints. When you're hungover on a Sat morning, this might be the best place for you.
