Ok I may be a bit partial here as I remember when my dad used to take me to their original location and we sat at the counter me looking up as he proclaimed how easy it was to support local business when they were this good. I may be dating myself here as most only know of the current location of 30+ years. I even went to school and played soccer w/one of the couple of owners' sons. Many might be shocked to know that the pies here are created by Greek immigrants not Italian. I only mention this because of how many ppl refer to the best pies as only capable of originating in 'the ole country' whatever that means. I'm not looking to offend here but I've lived on both coasts and travel extensively for work and one of the best pies I have had has roots from Greece right here in Chesapeake VA only rivaled by the 'Pizza Oasis' in Portland Or on Burnside ave, try their pizza from hell w/white sauce if ever a chance . I used to try and figure out just what it was that gave Ches Pizza their unique flavor. I gave up and now simply enjoy whether take out or eat in. The latter being the way to go. It comes out piping hot w/all fresh vegetables and cheeses that do that commercial deal stretching from slice to pie when served. From the cheese, extra cheese if in between diets or deployments to the loaded and ches special. Whatever your fav toppings enjoy if you are anywhere within the area. I will easily drive to Hampton, Va Beach, Portsmouth etc for a good pizza and if you have to put in some windshield time to get here you won't be disappointed. The drinks and beer on tap will accompany perfectly. My family enjoys a pitcher of Root beer to wash it down. The staff oddly never seems to be having a 'bad day' as they're always helpful and glad you chose them. Ty for years of memories (my father has since passed and I now take on his role w/my children in the support of a community institution), great pizza and a unique atmosphere. They only accept cash so be prepared. There is an atm in the lobby which they'll reimburse the fee for now I believe. I'm just trained to get cash beforehand. I hope everyone w/in a drive gets a chance to enjoy what this generational business serves up just like I remember from the counter in their early days. read more

I don't usually make reviews but I had to come on here and warn everyone not to waste their money. This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. From the moment we walked in, things were off. The hosts were completely disinterested, standing around on their phones and ignoring us for a solid 5 minutes. Finally, one of them looked up and pointed us to a table--no greeting, no smile, just an awkward gesture. The service didn't improve from there. Despite the restaurant being only half-full, it took over 10 minutes for anyone to even take our drink order. When our waitress finally showed up, she was clearly in no mood to serve--barely made eye contact, no friendly conversation, just rushed through the order like we were a burden. But the real kicker came when I saw the guy making subs in the back. I was sitting near the kitchen, and I watched as he slapped together sandwich after sandwich without wearing gloves. He was handling the bread, meats, and toppings with his bare hands, and I just couldn't believe it. In this day and age, that's unacceptable--and pretty unsanitary. If they can't follow basic hygiene practices, who knows what else is going on behind the scenes. The restaurant itself was a mess. The floors were filthy, with pizza crusts and crumbs scattered under our table. It wasn't even busy, so there's no excuse for that level of neglect. The atmosphere wasn't any better. They had profanity-filled rap music blasting from the kitchen, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. It was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other talk. Definitely not what you want in a family-friendly restaurant. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and underwhelming. By that point, we just wanted to get out of there. The service remained painfully slow, and we had to flag the waitress down multiple times for refills and, eventually, the check, which took another 10 minutes to come. Overall, I can't recommend this place. Between the terrible service, unsanitary food prep, dirty floors, and awful atmosphere, there are far better options in Chesapeake. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone else. read more

After hearing so many good things about Chesapeake Pizza, I called in today at 1:30 and placed an order for a medium cheese pizza to be picked up at 2. The young lady who greeted me at the register was very pleasant and had my order ready for me, as I had asked. The pizza was truly delicious! The crust was perfectly cooked (not too crisp, but not flimsy, either) and quite flavorful. The cheese, too, was very good...doesn't seem like they use mozz because the top of the pizza wasn't swimming in a flood of grease that I usually notice with other pizza places. I am also hyper salt sensitive when it comes to taste, and this pizza was perfect for my ultra sensitivity to sodium. If it's this good out of the box, then I look forward to having a dine in experience at this restaurant! read more

Local businessman and love stopping by Chesapeake pizza on Friday nights with my family. My wife and kids always look forward to the fresh melt in your mouth cheese pizza and they love the salad before the meal. They don't have ranch but their blue cheese dressing is practically the same. One of my sons even told me today "when I get older,I'm am going to own my own Chesapeake pizza so that I can eat it every day." Definitely will be a part of our family tradition for a while! read more

BEST PIZZA EVER!! I have never had a pizza quite as good as Chesapeake Pizza I have been coming her for years and they NEVER disappoint! All of their ingredients are homemade and fresh everyday you will definitely be able to taste the difference from any other pizza i recommend this place to anyone who likes pizza !! read more

I absolutely love this pizza. My favorite is the Chesapeake special which has about everything on it. Their subs are great as well. It is generally packed. They do not accept credit cards but just in case you need cash there is an ATM inside. It does take some time to get your pie. But worth it. read more

Had the most remarkable service. Drinks were never empty and the atmosphere was very family friendly.

This place is OK. I have had better pizza elsewhere. But in a pinch, this place will do.
