Had a Margarita Pizza that had absolutely no flavour and the crust could've been cooked a little more

My first time here, I'll give it 4 stars. The young man at the front was cordial and professional. I ordered the Philly Marinara cheesesteak. The sandwich was hot and fresh, and the flavor was good. It was easy to chew, which I prefer. The restaurant was pretty clean, but could use a little more attention probably. Overall it was a good experience. Well the ownership must have changed family's yet-again. Today's Sicilian pie with extra cheese and pepperoni had virtually no sauce and one paper-thin slice of pepperoni per slice. Even the dough was flavorless. Cannot recommend for anyone at this time ... read more

Toni's Pizza is located in the Holland Plaza Shopping Center, which is near the corner of Holland Rd. and S. Plaza Trail. You won't necessarily see the place from Holland Rd., but you should see the shopping center from both roads. It took me a little time to find it as the GPS in the car wasn't as helpful as it normally has been. My visit here was on January 4, 2025. From the outside, it looks like a quaint little place. Apparently there are new owners for the place now, as I saw a notice about that on the door as my mom and I came in. I like to try several new to me places around the beginning of the year, and this is one of those places. I also had a coupon from the back of a Kroger receipt. When we came in, we were the only patrons there. The two owners were there though when we came in, and we were able to choose where we wanted to sit. They came over with the menu for us to look over. I generally stick to water with lemon as the drink since I try to keep my blood sugar in check, as I have been in diabetic remission for over a year and counting. My mom decided to go with Pepsi since they are one of the places that does Pepsi instead of Coke. After looking over the menu for some time, we decided to go with the large white pizza, while also adding green peppers and pepperoni. We decided against appetizers since we knew the pizza would be big and will have enough carbs by itself. About ten to fifteen minutes after ordering, the pizza came out and boy did it look and smell good. They asked if we needed anything else other than the plates and such, and we were good to go at that time. Normally, I'd just go for one slice of pizza, but it was so good that I ended up having three slices that day. In the end, there were a few slices left to bring home to have the following day. Overall, this was an excellent experience. They served us well when we were there. They were on top of it, and the food was phenomenal. I even mis-read the coupon, but they honored it anyways. Even with having the three slices of pizza, my blood sugar levels did not spike either. I am definitely looking forward to coming back soon. It's always great to support local businesses. If you are in the area and looking for some great pizza or Italian food, you definitely need to put this place on the list of ones to try out. read more

I'm glad I chanced this place! Just another day craving pizza. My barber is in this complex, so I decided to try it after my haircut. I was hoping for pizza by the slice. They don't do thst so I got a small. I love onion pizza, so that's what I went with. I was greeted when I walked in. The guys behind the counter we're very polite. I used the restroom while I waited for my pizza. And that's when I really started to notice how clean this place is. Everything is very clean. Not what you expect from the average pizza joint. A short wait later and my pizza came out. We all know the crust makes or breaks the pizza. And ooh! what a crust. This pizza was delicious. The crust had a great crunch to it. There was plenty of cheese. The sauce was good. I am very happy I ordered here. I will probably get a small pizza whenever I get my haircut now. read more

I would love to give Toni's a great review, and to be fair, they had just changed owners again and we're in the process of making adjustments. So all I can share is how the pizza was when I was there and on a scale of one to five I would give it a three. The sauce is good, however I don't like the crust at all. After going to FunVille with two little kids, we were all starving! The two workers were so incredibly sweet to my kids! They kept talking to my nephews and getting them to laugh the entire time we were there. As soon as we came in, one of the workers gave both of my boys juice and he kept bringing more as they finished their juice. When the bill came, they didn't even charge us for either juices. When we went to say thank you, one of the employees gave us a free piece of cake to go. If you want something reasonably priced and extremely family friendly, this is your go-to place!! read more

Been going to Toni's for probably 20 years - considered it my favorite pizza place. When ever my birthday, or father's day cam around - where does dad want to go to eat - Toni's. A couple months ago, we went. New storefront images - interesting. Ordered as usual. Pizza didn't seem right - didn't taste right - didn't have the right consistency. Hmmmm, has something changed? Someone new in the kitchen? Bad day maybe? Then this weekend we went back, I had to see if it was a fluke or if something had changed. The pizza "looked" okay, but I could immediately tell it wasn't. Crust is too think. I am no fan of "NY style" pizza with its ultra thin and floppy crust, and loved Toni's because it wasn't just right - not too thin, not thick. The new pizza was thicker. My favorite thing about Toni's pizza was the thick, chewy, gooey cheese. That is gone. Now the cheese is blah and lacks any substance at all. And the sauce is just not good compared to the past. In the end, I (and my wife) thought the pizza was no longer good at all. I have since learned they are under new management. Well, when you buy a historic place, it is a real no-no to screw with the recipes. If you are going to do that, CHANGE THE NAME. This is NO LONGER Toni's, and I have lost my favorite style of pizza. We won't be going back sadly. So many great family memories of the past at least. read more

Tried a new pizza place called "Tony's" the sauce is some of the best pizza sauce I've ever had and toppings and cheese were good . How ever they only have " Pan" crust . The crust was just thick for me . For people that like pan ,you would probably love this . I wish they had had other crust options as then this would've been a total win and they would have won a new regular, as we eat pizza almost weekly. Clean and friendly environment. I even bumped into a friend who happen to be eating there. She is definitely a "pan"lover as she loves their pizza and told me I need to try their lasagna because it's the best. Don't be fooled by Toni's carpet in his hone because the pizza was truly a pleasant surprise. I moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and was given a gift certificate to check this place out by my realtor. Walking in I wasn't sure what to expect. It had a shab look to it mainly by the carpet and well after being in a Classic Chuck E Cheese party room I had no idea what I was getting myself into. The decor not on the full modern side and the signage could be a wee bit better. The taste of the pizza for me was a strong contender of large chain restaurants. A friend of ours told us this was the best pizza he's had in Virginia Beach so we decided to try it today. We ordered the Toni's famous pizza in size Large, which has so many items on it, onions--thinly sliced(omg-so good), green peppers, mushrooms, sausage, pepperoni, salami and ham no black olives. We came on a Monday so our pizza was $15.50, $4 off on Monday's which makes it less than the medium. The crust was perfectly cooked and held up to all the toppings on the pizza! This reminded me of the days when i traveled with my grandparents on summer vacations. Draft beer In small mugs!!!! Their menu has a lot of Italian dishes so we must come back and give them a try. You will surely enjoy their pies, so make a trip, yum! read more

Small hole in the wall place. Their phones were ringing off the hook the whole time. Only on other family was there and they had their food before we sat down. The reason I said that, it took 45 mins to get our food. The only people that was in there for that whole time. Nicest people working the shop but very slow in the delivery to table. Food? We got 1/2 of a meatball sub and a large pizza for $29. Like someone else said, a large pizza there is about the size of a medium pizza at Pizza Hut. They did have the pizza pie plates that showed sizes on the wall next to the menu, but unless you were looking you didn't know the size difference. My husband saw it after this smaller pizza had been delivered. The sausages weren't Italian like we asked, just kinda dull sausage. I actually dotted the pizza with a napkin because of the amount of grease and had to cut it with a knife and a fork because it wouldn't stay on the dough. I am NOT someone who eats pizza with a fork and knife. My husband liked the taste, me and my mother didn't. The meatball sandwich on the other hand was great. The meatballs weren't balls, they were liked sliced so they didn't fall off the bread. The bread was real Italian bread, not just some cheep rolls. I ended up eating the whole meatball sandwich and ditching the other 1/2 of the pizza slice I had grabbed. Sweet people but unless it's carry out I wouldn't visit again.
