He was responsive, reasonable, knowledgeable, hard worker and gave insight into why we may have been having issues with our recently placed quartz kitchen countertops. They worked with our timing for scheduling the project and exceeded our expectations. Originally, when searching for what company to work with, we connected with a few others. We purchased a house where the developer sanded the countertops to give it a matt finish but this was so easily dirtied and hard to clean. Especially cause we have a cat that would always jump up on it. Alonso came out and really explained to us in detail how he was going to resurface the countertops. Alonso did an amazing job restoring my 20 year old sandstone kitchen countertops at my home that were constantly getting stained and looked terrible due to their VERY porous nature. In fact, he suggested a matte finish w seal (vs. shiny finish) -- once he sanded and sealed my counters, they looked 10 x better than the original shinier finish. Now you can really see all the stone fossil details which I love, and the current seal is holding up nicely. Alonso was also was super knowledgeable about the maintenance of these types of countertops vs. replacing them with quartz (which I was about to do before I called Stoneworld Restoration). Finding good quality people to do this type of work who will treat your tiles and grout like its their own personal property isnt easy to find. (We had other quotes from other competitors with more reviews. The problem with them was both came to the house, gave a price, then kept coming down in price when we kept telling them we were going to get another bid. The team came out to power wash our outside, terra-cotta entrances, back, barbecue area, and concrete. First off let me start out by saying "RUN... RUN...RUN... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!" Stoneworld Restoration is an absolute joke of a company when it comes to doing a job with pride, dignity and respect. The owner Alphonso aka Jose Barrera is the most unprofessional person representing a newly started company I have EVER encountered in my many years as a consumer needing trade work done. I am very candid about my reviews, good and bad, and I believe this one is up for probably the worst review yet! Please take heed to this review in that you don't make the same mistake I did. On January 11,2023 the day before my birthday, I hired Stoneworld Restoration represented by Alphonso Barrera who says to call him by his middle name Jose, I will refer to him as so, came out to do some much needed countertop polishing for my 3 bathrooms. One master and two small countertops that needed a polish touch up. Jose says "May I look at the job first?" Of course that is suitable and most acceptable. He looks through my bathrooms and quotes me $1000 for all 3 countertops. This is not the issue I have for I thought, without knowing the trade it seemed like a decent price. I also went on to ask about a price for chaulking around one of my bathtub/shower tubs in a small area. He goes on to tell me that the entire chaulking needs to be replaced in all 3 bathrooms for another $1000 or more (forgot quote now). This is rather disturbing because my house in 7 years old and I only use 1 bathroom and the other 2 are rarely used. Once again not knowing the trade, I relied on the knowledge of a paid professional to be upfront and honest w/ me. However, let me transition back to the reason for my NEGATIVE 10 review. Jose starts the work on my countertops and I tell him, I am right next door in my room to just yell if he needs anything. Soon after he starts, He then yells he has to leave and he will be back in 45 minutes, which in actuality was well over 11/2 to 2 hour. He returns and completes the job. He then goes on to show me the work and for reference, I have white quartz countertops which makes it hard to see but the job was complete. I Zelle'd him the money in which I was expecting a receipt of payment that I requested and was never given. Now remember the next day is my birthday and I look at the main bathroom sink and notice around my faucets it was sanded down w/o being no polished. I bring it up to him, he says "Oh yeah I meant to tell you if you wanted it polished all the way thru you need a plumber to remove the faucets." I said why didn't you tell me this prior to doing the job? He says I forgot and 95% of the time you don't need it. I then ask what about that 5% of the time that I fall under? I want the job done correctly...Ok human error, I would like to have it fixed correctly now. This is where the 2year old tantrum starts. I have NEVER experienced a grown "professional" yell and scream at a paid customer as he did. He then calms down says his dad was on dialysis and he was concerned and wasn't thinking clearly, but will come and do his best to correct. Ok, days go by Jose cancels twice and I cancel once. Now 2 weeks passes and I don't hear from Jose anymore. I text him can he come on a Monday, he goes on to say he's busy. The conversation turns into a yelling match. This man has anger issues. Don't try to talk because he won't let you. He taunted me w/ abusive language, telling me I'm crazy in the head, and he's going to sue me if I give him a bad review, and grand finale he hung up on me. Im telling you with all due respect please look elsewhere for your stone restoration needs. I brought in another company who's refreshing service made Stoneworld Restoration look like the angry kid in time out. They explained Jose needed to let me know about the faucet so I could make the decision about removing the faucet, but everything else was good. However, the other company was angry at the chaulking quote of $1000, because they say it is literally something I can do myself, my home is only 7years old. Jose was also gonna do epoxy for my garage of $4500 in which I got another quote for $3000, another rip-off quote. Jose will take advantage of you, especially being a woman.If you're looking for a professional business, Stoneworld is NOT the one. Once again go with a company that offers pride, dignity, respect and professionalism. There are many stone companies, avoid going to this one!!! read more

Avoid at all costs! We hired Alonso to do our backyard patio and bar concrete staining, and it turned out to be one of the worst decisions we could have made. His work was far below our expectations in every way. Even a third party contractor reviewed his work and said "it was the worst quality workmanship" they had ever seen. Beyond showing up late, if he showed up at all, the quality of his work was terrible. It will cost me several thousand dollars to reverse the damage he caused to our concrete, fire pit, and bar. We also didn't pay for the beer-drinking that was done on the job. Very unprofessional and not a man of his word. We had an agreement to make things right with the project, which he did not honor. Instead, he ghosted us. I also asked him several times to see his Contractors License information, which he claims to have, yet never provided.
