The young man who initially checked me in was very nice. But the "manager" was rude rude rude! I had purchased a Groupon for a semi synthetic oil change. The manager insisted that he would only do a full synthetic oil change. For additional cost, of course. He told me that whenever they see a car with the word Castrol on the oil filler cap, then that car requires synthetic oil change. I asked him if Castrol only made synthetic oil... he said no of course not. Then, he started calling me "buddy" and saying that he now refused to service my car. I showed him the page from Volvo manufacturer specification saying that it does not require synthetic oil. While they do recommend it, it is not required if oil changes are done every 7500 miles or less. Here's the section on oil from the owners manual for my car: ******* Engine oil must meet the minimum ILSAC specification GF-2, including ACEA A1, API SJ, SJ/CF and SJ/Energy Conserving. Your Volvo has been certified to standards using ILSAC oil specification GF-2 5W-30. Volvo recommends use of oil with a quality rating equal to or higher than ILSAC GF-2. Equivalent and better oils include ACEA A1, API SJ, SJ/CF, and SJ/Energy conserving. Lower quality oils may not offer the same fuel economy, engine performance, or engine protection. Volvo Cars recommends Castrol. Depending on your driving habits, premium or synthetic oils *may* provide superior fuel economy and engine protection. I've been here about 3 times for an oil change bc of a groupon I had found online. First couple of times they offered to change my brakes for about $300 and I declined, service to my car was good (except last time which they did not replace my oil filter bc I had done the oil change before and was in a rush and could not do it myself this time) they used the same oil filter which I paid for under the "Groupon", but bc they didn't change my oil filter I started leaking oil (oil filter was cracked) slowly and by the time I was 100 miles into my oil change i had no more oil in my car. It sucks how you can't do a job that's so easy as changing the oil filter and tightening it. Waste of my money and Would definitely not recommend anyone else coming here. read more

Came in for a "Groupon" oil change. First time here. I didn't have an appointment (Because I'm THAT important. Not really, just took a chance.) and they took my car in right away. Nice! When Chris was done doing my oil change, he came in to the office to discuss what he'd found. He showed me where the manufacturer suggested I get some work done at the mileage I was at. I didn't feel as though he was trying to "upsell" me, just letting me know what was suggested. As I was texting my girlfriend with all of the information and how much it was going to be (she knows more about this car stuff and maintenance than I do and wanted to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off), he stood there patiently, repeating information if I needed it. I gotta say, he was patient. I was drilling him a little and texting, drilling him, and texting. (Yes Chris, I noticed. : ) I decided to have the work done. Chris and Javier tackled it together, and I was out of there! I don't feel as though I was gouged. I don't feel as though I was pressured. I feel like he was just giving me the information, and letting me decide. I like that. Frankly, I don't check the manual for the suggested maintenance, and I'm glad when I do go in for an oil change, someone is checking for me. Thanks Chris and Javier. During an oil change, this place told me I needed a new battery for $130 I was skeptical so I decided to hold off the same day I went to auto zone to buy a battery but the sales guy told me he should test my current battery first and guess what my battery had a 100% charge I pulled out the ticket he gave me saying my battery was low and noticed it didn't even have the correct date and time on it.. outside of that they tried to charge my $26(each for 2) to replace my windshield wipers which I had to bring up to them... I thought that seemed pricey and got the same brand at auto zone for only $11(each) I wouldn't go back there if they paid me! read more

Sketchy place. They'll lie to you. My fiancé got her transmission flush here around 6 months ago. We went and got a regular oil change yesterday and put it under my name, so when they looked at the work they've recently done on the car, there was just a regular oil change or two on there. When the mechanic was working on my vehicle, he came into the waiting room and asked if we had a minute cause he wanted to show us something. So me and my fiancé followed him out to our car and he told us that our transmission fluid was a dark brown and needed to be replaced. I told him we got it down here less than 6 months ago.. he looked at the last few services we got and didnt see a transmission flush.. so we told him must of been under my fiancés name.. he said okay. We asked why would it be brown, and he came to conclusion that it was pink and he just had bad lighting. Tldr; he said it was brown, until we told him we got it done 6 months ago at there place in which he changed his mind and said it was pink... Really? Typical mechanic. Shady spot! I went here because I found a groupon for an oil change and I wanted to confirm that it was good to use say day. They stated that no need to purchase the groupon and they would give me the same deal. This should have been an indication that this establishment had poor business practices. When a company signs up for groupon, they give a cut to Groupon for every sale they acquire from the promotion they offered on the app. Basically, they flip you. I agreed and they took my keys. When they popped the hood, they came back into the waiting area and asked who has been working on the car. I told them random places (dealer) to see what they would say. They said that I have to sign off because if a part breaks as they were changing the oil I would have to purchase the replacement. They so happen to have my part in stock. They also happen to have a model of it on their counter (upsell? Or bad business practice?). They stated that it can only be tightened up to 25lbs (like any typical person would know this). Why is this the only place that I ever told me this? My Prius has almost 200k and lots of oil changes and now I'm told this on a random visit? I'm going back to the dealer to get my oil change done. I'm hoping that they didn't break the part on purpose or broke it and then hoping I would say yes to the replacement. Stay away if you don't want to get scammed!!!!! Update: I've never had an issue with this before. We have 3 Prius (2012, 2014, 2016) in the household and I never once had an issue with it. Went to get an oil change, was told I need brakes. I had them do the front. A week later I went to my brake guy to get the back brakes done and he told me I was good for a few more months. When I went back to Chevron the all the manager did was make excuses. Terrible. UPDATE: It's been 2 months since you guys told me I need brakes and I still don't need back brakes yet. I checked. This place is horrible. I purchased an oil change on Groupon. When I tried to use it, they told me I had to buy extra oil that cost $8 and that my car required a full synthetic oil. I later found out from my owners manual, that was a lie. When they were doing the oil change, an employee called me outside and told me my car needed transmission service along with some other things. I noticed that they called all the women aside trying to sell services to them as well. My car only has 30000 miles and does NOT need any additional work. I was charged a $28 oil upgrade, $8 for extra oil and $5 Tax. I was $2 short and they refused to give me my car keys. Because I was going to be late for work, I walked to a store where I used my debit card to get cash back and was able to pay the $2. Please don't use this place. This place sucks. It took an hour longer than the "half hour" they originally promised. Another customer was there for 2-1/2 hours. They're all smiles when you drive up but afterwards, you may as well be invisible as you languish in their waiting room full of women's magazines and Jerry Springer on the television. They're busy because of the Groupons but you really don't "save" any $$ because of add-ons and their 'bait & switch' practices...and check your bill to make sure they actually apply any coupons you gave them. I was recommended to visit this location for auto repairs. I decided to get take my car for an oil change and a possible tune up. I pull up and ask where do I pull in for an oil change. I was asked how many miles my car had and that I would need a different type of oil since my car had so many miles on it....yeah right. I grew up with three brothers two who can repair cars so I know that what you are telling me is Bullshee. I'll probably go back, but just like other typical oil changing or discount tire type places they come at you with a list of issues that they find. To their credit, they were only slightly pushy in trying to get me to do some of the fixes. Took the car to a trusty mechanic and lo and behold, only one of the 4 urgent repairs was needed and even that one was debatable. Imagine being stranded about an hour away from home...steam starts billowing out from under your hood, you're on the freeway on your way to an important meeting and your car is breaking down before your eyes. Not only are you in an unfamiliar area and don't know how you're going to handle this but, if you're a woman with a mechanical problem and not a lot of options...well, they always see you coming don't they? Luckily for me, I pulled off the freeway and Fast Lube was right there! My lucky day....maybe The guys in the shop came out right away to ask me how they could help me. They looked under my hood and said it seemed like a radiator problem and that they could fix it. I told them I had been on my way to an important meeting and was there any hope on earth to get this done in an hour. I knew this was more than a matter of just turning a few screws. They looked back and forth at each other, hesitated, and I thought they were absolutely going to say, "I'm sorry ma'am, this is going to take several hours," or worse, "sure!, no problem!," just to get me to agree to have them do the work. But let's face it, I had few options at this point so I said, yes, please go ahead and do the job and the sooner you can get me out of here, the better. There were 2 other cars being worked on but thankfully, they also began working on mine right away. I knew this was going to be expensive but I didn't really know how much to expect. I called my boyfriend, (a known tight wad), and he immediately warned me about how much they were going to try to rip me off, etc,. etc,. When they gave me the estimate, I called my boyfriend back and to my surprise, he said that the price they were quoting was very fair -we were both surprised. The mechanics told me they would call a local parts store and begin the job immediately while they waited for the part. I was convinced now, that the part would arrive in far more time than the 15 minutes they told me to expect, or that the part would arrive but it would be the wrong part. I was pleasantly surprised on both counts. The correct part arrived in under 15 and the job was completed in one hour!!! It was truly a miracle. As far as I could tell, they did a fabulous job (no overheating on the way to my appointment.) They pointed out that there were some other issues with my car that I should address but I wasn't pushed at all. Granted, they knew I lived far away but they still politely offered to do the work if I wanted them to. I eventually made it to my appointment and there's a good chance I may even get the account. So, thank you Fast Lube! It would've been a disaster for me if they had not come through for me like they did. Fair price, honest business, quality work, and respect for a woman-wow! I'd stay clear of the location. I used a Groupon for a premium synthetic oil change and "15 point complete inspection". Tires pressure on my inside door says 33......they pumped all 4 tires to 44! My car tells me status so I turned round went back and was told their gauges don't always work....they also wanted to sell me $120 of a different color antifreeze. My car takes blue not their green...as an auto place two top selling types of antifreeze are green and blue, they should stock both...so they couldn't top off this item........bought tires from Pep boys recently and they topped me off for free........that is the difference between poor and great customer service. They were slow and a little bit expensive. An oil change comes to $36 after tax even though there is a deceptive sign saying that oil changes are $24.95. They claim to have a 15 point inspection but they don't put much effort into that inspection as they missed things that I already new were wrong with my car (such as wind shield wipers which is one of the things they supposedly check) They claimed it took an hour and a half because my car was complicated. Really? Took the last mechanic 15 minutes. So they are either really slow or don't know what they are doing. Either way, I wasn't impressed. I'll five them 2 stars since they got the job done right in the end. read more

I've been here a couple time just for oil changes. If you go Tuesday or Wednesday (I believe) you can get the $24.99 special. Like every oil change place, they always try to upsell you on stuff (yesterday, the guy asked me if I wanted sythetic oil 2x). I always ignore that stuff (especially since my car has under 10,000 miles). I've only known one oil place is Southern California that didn't try to pull the upsale stuff every time, but they went out of business. read more

I went in to get my battery replaced and they did a good job but after waiting a while they also told me I needed to get new struts for my car and pay $1000. They acted like they were doing me a favor but I figured they were trying to make money off me. I take it into another place I actually trust and they said everything on my car was 100% fine.
