This place was a really good find. I've eaten at a Chevy's in Minneapolis before and was not too pleased, so I was hesitant to try this one in Arlington. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how good this one was. We were immediately greeted with chips, salsa, and guacamole, which tasted awesome. I ordered something which came with 1 taco, 2 enchiladas, 1 tamale, and 1 chile relleno. It also came with a full plate full of spanish rice and beans. For dessert I ordered a deep-fried ice cream. The whole meal was really good and I would definitely go back there again. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the food hit me hard and almost caused me to crap my pants on the way back to the hotel. read more

I wish I didn't like this place so much. It's a chain after all-- I'm usually an independent business supporter-- and it's not exactly authentic Mexican food. But this place doesn't claim to be anything other than was it is and the food is great. I will kid myself and say Im supporting the local wait staff because truly, they were the best. The margaritas were fabulous too and not made with the usual syrupy sweet tart mixers. And most importantly, it is kid friendly and my littles devoured their food, danced to the background music and enjoyed watching people walk by. read more

Ah, Chevy's. I admit that I have a soft spot for El Machino's chips. (When my husband and I lived on the South Side of Chicago, I once made him take an impromptu trip to Schaumburg with me to get some after a bad day. People who know the Chicago area knows that this is pretty much craziness.) That being said, at this point, I think that the chips are about all that Chevy's has to recommend it. The food we ate during our last few visits has been mediocre at best, and I had pretty much written the place off. But one night this week I worked late, had a moment of weakness, and found myself back there. I had the steak combo special. It included carne asada nachos, a picadillo enchilada, and a steak taco. Rice and beans came on the side. The nachos were quite tasty but on the heavy side. The enchilada was blah - basically filler - and the taco paled in comparison to the steak diablo tacos they are now selling at Baja Fresh. In addition, the tacos were made with fairly large white flour tortillas. I suppose that is a chain restaurant accommodation to the "average" American diner, but I prefer my tacos made with corn tortillas. My husband had a smothered burrito. His reaction? "Eh." He did enjoy the salsa and big draft of Dos Equis Amber, however. Our new plan: getting chips and beer at the bar if I have any future cravings but having our meal elsewhere. read more

My colleagues and I visit this location for happy hour almost once weekly (for the past three years) as we work nearby. Our visit on May 1 was unbelievably bad and not in keeping with the Chevy's brand. The problem started immediately with being told that the table I sat at in the bar was reserved. At no point in the past two years has any table been reserved on the bar. In fact, I asked to hold a table in bar seating last month for ten minutes and was denied ("strictly first come first serve"). It seems like the bartender had friends who wanted the table and made things uncomfortable and threatening if we didn't move. Moved to a shared table and eventually was able to order food and drinks. Service was nonexistent for 20 minutes. Drinks that came had no alcohol, or at least none that could be detected. Giggling by bar staff. Seemed like a petty response to questioning the "reserved" bar seating issue. Food order was wrong. No problem, ate it anyway. After a lengthy wait with no check, eventually got up and asked for a manager to pay. "Manager" turned out to be the bartender (Andrew Romero) who caused every problem in this review. This experience is unlike any other we had at this location but makes us question ever coming back (tampering with food and drink completely destroys trust). Completely offensive behavior by Romero. While not the classiest or most authentic of Mexican restaurants (I mean, c'mon, the place is called Chevys!), this place has pretty decent chips n salsa and margaritas! We visited for drinks late on a Saturday night and all ordered margaritas. The frozen strawberry margarita was a generous portion and was delicious. The free chips n salsa refills went perfectly with it. I can't speak to any of the other food here, as we didn't order any, but we enjoyed the drinks and salsa well enough. read more

The first thing I did before I even had a seat was to hit the restroom to wash my hads. I saw a food-service employee finish using the restroom and fail to wash his hands. NOT a good first impression. Further observation revealed that he was responsible for people's drinks which included placing lemons in glasses and scooping ice. Thankfully, he didn't touch our drinks. Something in the restaurant smelled... funny. Stale. Like a sewer line broke years ago and was never completely fixed or cleaned. Couldn't quite pinpoint it. It wasn't busy in the restaurant at all. There was only one other table of 4 seated. I ordered a chicken burrito, but what I received was a ground beef burrito, and not exactly in a timely fashion either. How does this order get mixed up with one one other table? It was painfully apparrent that the waiter was not hired to be a waiter, but the man was at least making an honest attempt to do his best. Due to the mix up, he took $3 off the meal. Poor service, sub-par food. No way in hell I'll be returning. I frequent the Chevy's in Orlando, and the difference is night and day. I have been going to Chevy's for a while and this one seems to be the best! The drinks are better adn their happy hour is great (Everday 3pm-8pm). Happy Hour is only in the bar area but I've never really had to wait for a table or anything. Food wise it's your typical mexican food. The corn tamilitos (I think I spelled it right) are to die for...I get a side of that everytime I order something. I love their side salads adn the fried ice cream is great also. I live in Maryland so I either go to this one or the one in Waldorf but this one def has the Waldorf one beat as far as the margaritas (soooo good)!! read more

Happy hour prices are going up, drinks getting smaller and weaker, food options are slim. This used to be one of my favorite happy hour spots but not so much anymore. Went here recently, due to the COVID restrictions only outdoor seating was available. Our waiter was very good, polite and patient. They're was a slight miscommunication and a member of our group didn't receive their food. But by the time this was realized the kitchen had closed. The manager was very understanding and apologetic. She offered to comp the missed meal next time the person came in to eat. I got the burger ( I know, who gets a burger at a tex mex spot? Lol) it was t bad, although I actually expected better. A casual family--style (suburbia type) Mexican restaurant chain. I was delighted and full of glee when my BF and I found Chevy's in VA! Coming from California, we thought this was a strictly a CA chain.. We are lucky to have one so close to DC. Now, I rarely like to go to VA for dinner (especially for a franchise)-- however, all I have to do is jump on the Green/Yellow line, and wait 30 mins, and BING- I have been transported to Pentagon City station (and my Chevys). Favorite: margarita with Alma tequila, chicken enchiladas with green sauce, black beans and rice. YUM!! Plus, you can shop at the mall or go to Costo afterwards. :) read more

Chevys is a Tex-Mex restaruant in the Pentagon City area with great Happy Hour specials. From 2-8pm, they have $3 domestics, $4 imports and $5 margaritas. Also, every table gets complimentary chips and salsa which are delicious. The chips are thin and crispy while the salsa is a little smoky. Keep in mind that happy hour is only located in the bar area. There are 2 sides of the restaurant. The main dining room (much larger) and the bar area. I would say there are about at least 12 tables in the bar area so it's not like everyone will have to stand around. Also, they have deals like 2 or 3 appetizers for $12 depending on what you get. They have guacamole, chicken/steak nachos etc. All in all, a decent spot to hang out for some drinks with some great specials. read more

I am sorely disappointed in Chevy's after an experience this weekend. My husband and I have eaten at Chevy's a few times, but I have relied on them in the past for their catering - you can order trays of rice and beans a la carte for a good price. This has helped complete several taco bars I've done at parties, and the food is always good. Not this weekend. I ordered black beans and rice for my birthday party on May 5. I spoke to the catering representative earlier in the week after placing my order online, and he confirmed it would be ready at 5:15 pm on 5/5. When my husband arrived to pick up the order, it was not ready AND the staff insisted that they didn't have any order from us. The staff was incredibly rude and did not want to be bothered to help him. They said that it would be ready soon, but when my husband returned 20 minutes later it was still not ready. He was actually ignored by the staff as he tried to ask what was happening. The order was not "ready" until 6pm, a full 45 minutes late. When he took the bag, the beans spilled out - they had not properly closed the lid. Upon getting home and opening the trays, we discovered that there was only about half the amount of rice that should have been included. I am completely appalled at this and would not order again. read more

We decided to go to Chevys instead of CPK - big mistake. The chip and salsa are great. The pork taquito came with only four taquitos, some beans and rice. The meat was so mushed, it was hard to taste any meat flavor. We all agreed that the frozen taquitos from Costco tasted better. The enchilada did not look or tasted good. The only thing that was not bad was the beef taco. I didn't expect a lot from Chevys, but this is still worse than "not expecting a lot". read more

This place really reminds me of Chilis. The prices and the menu choices are similar. They even offer a dinner for 2 special..an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $15 i believe. My review is about a VERY nice, genuine, happy and friendly young man that's a waiter here name Jajuan (Juju). I just left from here from having lunch with my coworker. From the moment he came to our table until we left he was very friendly, always smiling and VERY helpful! Checked on us throughout. We use to go to this particular Chevys a lot because we work in the area and everytime we had a bad experience with our waiter/waitress. Today was our first time back in 7 months and I'm glad first time back Jajuan was my waiter . I will go back JUST for him, as long as I get him. This location is across from the Ritz in Pentagon City. I had the opportunity to dine outside once, and inside on my other visits. I love dining outside, but can't stand to eat outside when the weather is too warm. The food here is very good. They start you with warm chips and an excellent cup of salsa. If you like guacamole, you will enjoy theirs. They make it table side. I wish they would add cilantro, but heh, it was good. Main entrees are the usual Mexican fare. They live up to their name, everything is very fresh. The people who work here are some of the nicest, most accommodating folks you will find.
