Came on a Monday around 4pm. We sat in the bar section which eventually filled up as dinner time approached. They provided kid menus for the kiddos. They were great with making sure we had chips and salsa which were warm and delicious. We didnt have to wait too long for our fiod which was pretty tasty. It's been awhile since I've been to a Chevys but I miss the old portion sizes. I got he passion pop which was a delicious alcoholic beverage that was easy to drink. Also got the enchilada and steak plate with rice and beans. Some slices of the steak was rarer than I would've liked but I took that part as my leftovers home and cooked it some more. read more

To start, service is slow, painfully slow. In an almost empty restaurant after 2pm it took over 45 minutes from ordering to get our food. This didn't appear to be the server's fault as he was attentive in refilling chips, salsa and drinks. The food came out sizzling, so it wasn't just sitting in a window. Perhaps the cooks went on break, but whatever the case it took way too long to get food. Next the restroom didn't have any paper towels and the trash was overflowing. Finally the handmade tortillas, which are my favorite thing here, were raw on one half, hard on the other, as if the grill didn't evenly heat them or they weren't pressed correctly. The fajitas were devoid of any flavor, they to skimpy on the sides, and there were no hot sauce options. They used to have habanero on the table at least. This Chevy's experience was significantly different than what I experienced at the ones in Sacramento, and I can't imagine it's going to stay open much longer at this rate. Once again Chevy in Fairfield fails big time on service. I don't understand WHY the service here is always SO bad , I stopped going due to the service always being horrible . So yesterday I figured hey let's give it another try , and once again the service was terrible . Let's start with the chips and salsa , we never got any , we had to ask twice for chips and salsa, ordered a Pepsi , asked for a refill and it never happened , they actually took my cup and never came back with it WTH ... They brought out the food and never brought the tortillas , waited almost 10 minutes and still nobody , I had to get up and go to the front to ask for tortillas , the two tables next to us who had different servers also got the same type of service . The restaurant itself is nice , clean and has a nice lay out. Unfortunately this will definitely be my LAST time going to this restaurant. I love Chevy's chips and salsa... First time at the Fairfield location and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of parking and the ambience is festive. Our server was very nice. I forgot to ask his name. My favorite is their flautas plate. I ordered the 6 pieces vs. 4 pieces. It came with refried beans, rice and yummy corn. I also had their Happy Hour pork belly with guacamole. The pork belly was crispy, but overcooked (dry). Luckily the guacamole gave it some moisture. I don't know why, but the tortilla chips at this location are better than the other Chevy's. Maybe it's because they make them fresh right there in the dining room? I was really happy with my last visit. I sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and checked up on me during my meal. I tipped her a little extra she was so nice. Everything was fresh colorful, and tasted great. I managed to eat the afrementioned chips, salsa, beans, rice, garnishes, and a massive burrito. It was a lot of food, and I felt in the parking lot on my way back to the car..., along with my guilt and shame. Well, I probably won't be back for a while after my gastronomic, grand-tour, into gluttony, but it was worth it. The quesadilla is not generous in size and the meat is not heavy in size either. I saw only a few cut pieces inside. For the price I pay, I didn't enjoy or feel satisfied. It's been years since I've been here. The last time was not great but I love the margaritas and the chicken flautas so I decided to go for it. When we came in nobody greeted us, we stayed at the front for a good 3-4 minutes before anyone noticed they had a crowd at the front waiting for seats. Our server was nice but clearly busy... After surfing the menu we decided to share the flautas and the fajitas... the chicken flautas were soft, no crispy outer shell just a mushy flautas. But the dipping sauce was on point! Came in the other Sunday just after 2:00 so the brunch was over and back to regular menu. We were placed in the back room area even though there was room elsewhere since besides bar area there was only a few tables taken but a lot of dirty tables. We had one other table with people where we were. Took about 15 minutes for server to come by and ask about drinks. Asked for water with lemons. About 10 minutes later he came back with the water with no lemons and still no chips or salsa. Took order and we reminded him about the lemons and asked about the chips. Brought chips and salsa and asked about salt. 15-20 minutes later brought food. No tortillas for the fajitas. No salt but out of chips so didnt need it. Said would bring some more. 20 minutes later still no tortillas, no chips no salsa. I am half done with my food. My husband gets up to find him or talk to someone. They have been taling down the buffet. He gets his tortillas- not from our server. Never got the chips and salsa refill. Never got the salt or the lemons we asked for either. The people next to us didnt get all their food either but they just got up and left. Normally big tippers but this day didnt want to give him anyrhing. We were driving back from Sacramento and I noticed there was a Chevys on the way home in Fairfield. As I used to work for one back in the day in Pleasant Hill, it was nice to see there was still one around. The minute you walk in, you know you walked in to Chevys. We walked to the bar and had a seat there. They had great music playing, having a dance party in my seat. We saw that they had some awesome choices for happy hour, both drinks and food. Some of the items on the happy hour menu aren't listed in the actual menu. We were greeted and the bartender was nice, nothing over and beyond but he could make an awesome Jalapeño and cucumber spicy margarita! My second drink was a Paloma, that was delicious too!!! They kept the chips and salsa coming and they are perfectly thin, crunchy and salty. The salsa had a chipotle or fire taste to it. For the appetizers we chose to have the Birria tacos, and they were graciously nice to make them with their delicious flour tortilla. I know what you might be thinking.... It's Mexican American food; how good could they be? Well let me tell you... they are so tassssty! The second item we ordered was the Mexican pizza which was huge but it just tasted like black canned beans... I had to look really close for the ground beef. Each one of us had 3 drinks each and two appetizers and we paid $100 including tip and tax. That is pretty good when the drinks were so good! Probably the best the Chevy's I've ever been. It didn't start off this way by any means as we chose to get seated at the bar for a little happy hour treats. We waited for about 20 minutes to get some service. All we had was chips, salsa and nothing else. I do need to point out that they were very short staffed and only one guy working about 10 tables. We were thinking of leaving but I did ask the hostess Shantel if we can be seated in the regular dining area in hopes of getting served a little quicker. We waited another 15 minutes and nothing and that's when our hostess Shantel noticed us waiting again so she took it upon herself to get our orders in. I came here on a Friday afternoon with my toddler, not expecting there to be 3 graduation parties going on at the same time with large parties of 8 people or more, they were BUSY. Chevy's has always been a favorite of mine for many years. However, this place carried a chill'ing feel upon being seated under a windy vent. We had arrived for an early meal around 4:30pm to beat the Dinner rush. Yet it still took 30min to order our meal & another 30min to get it. The drinks came when the chips & salsa arrived. Seems they were short staffed with a half filled place. When the food arrived we were disappointed. The meat was dry & the refried beans tasted old. We were really surprised about the entire experience since any location seemed to have a great following. This is the 1st time it seemed off. This review is specific to their Sunday buffet. 10/10. The variety was awesome and all quality. Ceviche, pozole, tacos with fresh tortillas, churros, pan dulce, fruit, chilaquiles, and all the lunch entrees you would expect including a whole dish of their sweet corn pudding. Sooo good - I got a scoop of that with every plate. Honestly the pozole was my favorite. So tangy, savory, and delicious with all the fixings. All the stations were clean and service was prompt. Glad they brought back the brunch buffet. It's $39.99/person. The tacos were delicious with a choice of chicken, birria, carne asada, & carnitas. The tortillas are made fresh to order and you can put as much toppings as you like (Avocado salsa, onions & cilantro, lime, and red salsa. I tried the pozole which had a nice kick and flavor. The menudo I had to add oregano, lime, cheese,and cabbage to add flavor, and the meat was so tender. They automatically give you two pancakes with strawberry, butter, and syrup when you sit down and bottomless mimosas, cranberry & OJ. Very delicious. There's a build-your-own omlette station, we had chorizo & mushrooms. Other things we tried was the flan, horchata, churros, 3 different types of shrimp ceviche with tostadas, their sweet corn hash that I love, and a ton of other dishes on a cast iron kept hot. I think Chevy's has lost it's appeal over the years. The number of customers in the restaurant lately really shows it. The only draw for me is their Chips and Salsa, the Tableside Guacamole, a side of Sweet Corn Tomalito, and maybe a Margarita. That's it! We usually just eat in the cantina area where they have happy hour and other specials. The rest of the food is just okay. I think real Tex-Mex in Texas may have ruined it for me. Haha. Restaurant isn't as popular as before. We are usually seated immediately with many empty tables around. read more

Unfortunately, we walked out quite disappointed at how things turned out. 1. The tortillas were no longer made fresh there (I was excited to see them do that) but that was initially okay. I would definitely recommend Thai place on a Sunday for Sunday brunch !!!! Me and my bf came for brunch and it was Amazing !! The food was good and the made fresh churro pancakes for us with strawberry's, they made a fresh omelette at the omelette station and it was delicious as well as hot delicious tacos !!!
