It's clean, the service is solid and the new manager Evelyn car to our table to introduce herself and was excited to tell us about the new menu options coming out later this month. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Hear me out. I haven't been to a Chevys in about 10 years and let me tell you when I went to this specific location in Fairfield for the first time, I had the BEST experience ever. It was my birthday and I decided to celebrate with my husband and my 2 year old. We went to mama x dios which was about 20 steps away from this Chevys.. (where honestly was the WORST experience in my life) When we left that crap place we went to the Chevys and LET ME TELL YOU! We had a BETTER time at Chevys than that crap place. We were greeted with the BEST staff EVER. AND It was so good we ended up coming back that Sunday for the most DELICIOUS buffet ever. We saw the people from the night before and it was nothing but GOOD POSITIVE ENERGY. HUGGGGEEEE SHOUTOUT TO THE CHEVYS FAM - Jacob -Alexandra -Eli - Cynthia -Linda And manager OSCAR!!!! Gerry has the best hospitality always takes care of me and my wife. I love the drinks here they have an expressive martini and it's absolutely delicious! My friends and I were in town Saturday for an event, but wanted to get a bite to eat in a drink beforehand so this restaurant is located within walking distance from our hotel and they have happy hour from 3 PM to 9 PM daily! We all were amazed by that so we definitely took part in that deal. We each had a well drink I had vodka cranberry, I had to send mine back because my glass was dirty. Our waiter was very attentive and he replaced my drink actually made it even stronger to my liking without me even asking so I did appreciate that. I had the appetizer chicken nachos, which was definitely plenty really good portion for the price the chips and salsa that they gave you were still a fan favorite! The chips were light and crisp and so fresh! And I have no idea what they put in that salsa, but it is still great to this day! But clearly miss could've been a little better overall within the restaurant I didn't suffer any food poisoning so it's still a win-win situation and once again our waiter was super nice! The question is what I go back probably only for the happy hour alone, but I will definitely be cautious regarding the cleanliness that's it.This is the only reason why they're getting four out of five stars. read more

This location has gone downhill over the last few years. The staff is usually friendly but service is extremely slow. Food takes forever and the quality is not good, it's either dry or soggy and portion sizes are noticeably smaller. From my experience, if you sit in the cantina you get better service than when you sit anywhere else. Chips and salsa are the best thing here. They also have a 5% fee they add to every bill. read more

There's no excuse for such poor customer service, and there are plenty of better options in the vicinity. Came for lunch. They have lunch specials which looked promising (but are mostly fajitas). The chips and salsa that arrived promptly at our table were fresh and tasty. Our server was friendly. So far so good. It went downhill. My lunch portion of steak fajitas, while plentiful, was absolutely awful. The first two bites of the "steak" I nearly choked... it was like eating shoe leather - truly. After two bites, I gave up entirely. It wasn't safe to eat this as I couldn't be sure anyone at the restaurant knew the Heimlich. My partner's chicken flautas (combo entree) were OK. Nothing special but not inedible. When our server came to check on us, I mentioned that my fajitas were terrible - simply too tough to attempt to eat. By this time, the "steak" had congealed and was turning a strange color... beginning to look more and more like a piece of leather the longer we sat. Our server said he would "try to get a discount" for me. I was fine with that but I think usually when someone barely touches a meal, it's not charged. He DID come back with 20% off (looked like he gave me the Veteran's discount) and a coupon for $10 off our next meal (expiring in 10 days). Again, I was OK with it, but it did seem like a little less than a real apology for a plate of food that frankly, shouldn't have ever been served to a customer. We'll be passing on Chevys from now on. So no, we won't be using our coupon. read more

Our server was awesome. She really tried to make it a good experience. My wife one year and I went on a Saturday night around 5:45 pm. Got us seated pretty quickly. Took our orders but forgot about us. The group of people that came in right after us were served food and drinks before we even got our appetizers. I asked another server For the check since they forgot about our food. They quickly brought out one of our apps and a Togo box for it. Food took another 20 mins. What an amazing visit today! Let me start off by saying my wife and I love this Fairfield location so much that we have become regulars. Today was the continuation of my birthday weekend and we decided to visit our favorite spot. Happy hour is always full of fun and happy customers during the weekend. Per usual we were greeted with smiles and speedy service. The salsa and warm chips were on point and the music and atmosphere was a vibe. Chevys in Fairfield is an absolute embarrassment of a restaurant. I don't even know how this place is still open with the level of customer service I experienced -- or more accurately, didn't experience. I stood at the front waiting to be seated while five different staff members walked right past me like I was invisible. Not a "hi," not a "someone will be with you shortly," not anything. Just straight-up ignored. And the cherry on top? The manager -- yes, the actual manager -- was behind the bar, locked eyes with me like we were in a Western standoff... and still did nothing. Not a gesture, not a head nod, not a "hold on." Just continued doing absolutely nothing while customers are literally standing there like idiots. This wasn't a busy Saturday night rush either -- there was no excuse. This was straight-up laziness and a complete lack of professionalism. I've had better service at taco trucks at 2am. Hell, I've had better hospitality from vending machines. Reading some of the other reviews, this place has been called out before for trash service and clearly nothing has changed. I should've listened. That's on me. If you're thinking of coming here, do yourself a favor and drive 5 minutes to literally anywhere else. This place is a joke. And not even a funny one -- just sad and disrespectful. Chevys used to be solid back in the day, but this location? Hot garbage. We reserved a table for 17 here for a family function. We arrived on time but unfortunately 3 in our party had car trouble so they were running late. Our table was seated at a big table in a closed off room but it was so hot! It was nice at first to get out of the cold but some of us were burning up and using the menus to fan ourselves lol. The waitress took our drinks orders, some of which were from the bar of course and we ordered appetizers. Some chips were brought out but I didn't seem like they begun working on our appetizers or drinks until about an hour later. I'm not sure if that's policy but it was a little surprising that we didn't even get served water or our sodas until a long while after we had been seated. The food was good. The chicken flautas are a new favorite of mine. I got the chicken & steak fajitas. It looked impressive when they brought it out but it was the chicken was pretty dry and the steak was okay. My husband had the Tacos Vampiros and essentially used my tortillas to create a new tacos that didn't have so many ingredients. The restaurant was not busy when I walked around, so maybe they were just short staffed but overall a disappointing experience. Maybe they should have assigned two servers to our table. The hostess was very friendly and she popped up later to help clear the tables so we could have cake. read more

The food was great, the presentation was there and the fajitas were FIRE. The servers there were OUTSTANDING there all so beautiful and polite, they actually care about the service they give there customers. My server Kristina really reflected on the staff there she was quick to bring us water and chips and salsa almost before we sat down, she already had it there, thats how quick she was. She was patient with my son who has autism, which most waiters just ask me for his order. He's 8 years old and he has a hard time getting the right words out, and she recognized that. It was so heartwarming To see that someone recognized him and gave him time to try. My son really enjoyed the fajitas and he was so excited to order for himself for the first time, I'm so proud of him and I'm so greatful for Kristina's patience with us.
