    Mix fajita

I signed up for Chevys Rewards about a year ago and was pleasantly surprised to get a free entrée for my birthday. What made it even better was that there were no restrictions, so I went all in with the mixed fajitas--shrimp, steak, pork, and chicken with all the fixings. Everything was delicious, and the fresh, warm tortillas really took it to the next level. I also tried the happy hour BBQ chicken quesadilla. It was decent, but nothing too memorable compared to the fajitas. Overall, such a great birthday treat and a nice perk from their rewards program!

Mother Nature provided a perfect day for Chevys cantina patio! New Watermelon and the Jalapeno Cucumber Margarita is fire!! Griselda must have taken a happy pill or it's her natural disposition, such a genuine hospitality. We liked the new apps Mango Haberno wings and the BBQ ribs, yum.

I just…read morerealized that they're part of the Stark Reality restaurant group, which has a big presence in Sonoma County. We had also tried Grossman's Noshery & Bar from the same restaurant group and were happy with the food there. I also heard good things about their other restaurants, so it should not have been a surprise that we were also impressed with the food here. Food is served tapas style and honestly, all the dishes sound appetizing. On this visit, we tried a few dishes. I wish I came with a more empty stomach to try more things. We ordered their crispy maitake mushrooms, steamed local black cod, and grilled house-made lamb sausage. Everything was delicious! The crispy maitake mushrooms came with a fish sauce which gave a nice brightening note to eat with fried food. Lemon was also fried with them to help cut any grease, so overall this dish did not feel oily or heavy. The steamed local black cod's ginger scallion oil surprisingly paired very well with the black truffle pesto. It had an earthy flavor profile that was brightened by the ginger. The cod was perfectly cooked and the mushrooms soaked up all of that saucy goodness. I loved this dish! The grilled house-made lamb sausage was Thai inspired and you could definitely taste the spices in the sausage. I actually would've liked more of the tamarind BBQ sauce and basil salad on this dish to help counter the lamb's spiciness a bit, but I enjoyed the dish. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and came out quickly. The restaurant is housed in what looks like a historic house, so it was a very cozy environment. They have a patio where you could eat while enjoying nice weather. I would definitely come again if I'm in the area!

The restaurant offers a simple, approachable menu with a little something for everyone, making it a great spot for groups with different tastes. We kicked things off with the cocktail flight sampler, which was hands-down the highlight of the experience. Not only is it a fun way to explore their drink menu, but it's also a great value--especially considering individual cocktails are $14 each. Our server was fantastic and happily swapped out a few of the flight options to better suit our table's preferences. It made the experience feel even more personalized. For food, we ordered a spread: calamari, poke, zucchini chips, and prawn tacos. While everything was presented nicely, the flavors were just okay--nothing particularly memorable. That said, the zucchini chips were probably the standout of the group, especially if you're in the mood for something crispy and light. What really made the visit enjoyable was the friendly, attentive service. The staff was warm and welcoming, offering thoughtful recommendations without being pushy. Perch + Plow is worth a visit for the drinks, the view (if you're by a window), and the relaxed, modern vibe. Just don't go in expecting mind-blowing cuisine--but if you're looking for good cocktails and a chill spot to unwind, this is a great pick.

Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.

The whole place felt alive in the best way--buzzing with conversation, laughter, and people clearly having a great time. We didn't have a reservation, but lucked out with seats at the community table. Bonus: the other guests were super welcoming, which just added to the fun, communal feel. We hit happy hour, and wow--it's a good one. Tons of interesting bites and a solid drink lineup. I went with a whiskey sour, my friend had the ginger beer on draft (very refreshing), and we shared the prawns, Brussels sprouts, and creamy mac & cheese. Everything was seriously delicious. Shoutout to our server, Melanie--friendly, attentive, and totally on it, even with the place packed. A couple things to note: it does get loud, so maybe not your spot if you're after a quiet, intimate dinner. Also, the happy hour menu listed Brussels sprouts but didn't mention bacon--I'm vegetarian, so that was a bit of a surprise. (It is noted on the regular dinner menu, which I admittedly didn't check.) All in all, such a fun, lively spot. I'll definitely be back for more bites and cocktails.

The conversations of people were amplified by the design of the facility to the point where they were competing with the fully amplified '90s band that I heard called joose. In addition, they appear to have no comprehension about how to actually create an appropriate acoustic management system. There are no damping systems, no soft surfaces, it's like they didn't even ask anybody who knows anything about anything about how to do acoustic design. It's entirely appearance based. We will never return here again for anything other than a cocktail or maybe a karaoke event. It was a waste of $20. Per person. We effectively paid $40 for a couple to be acoustically tortured for 2 hours. There is a good variety of food with the stars I think being their escargot (the garlic butter being the best). Lots of little touches of snail decor around the restaurant is really cute. I've had their ahi Niçoise salad and it is excellent. The potatoes and ahi were a surprisingly good combo for me. Oysters are a refreshing appetizer but I recommend the frog legs (tastes almost like a very lightly fried thinner chicken wing). I often paired it with a side of mushrooms. My family has gotten a variety of their menu. Onion soup is good and ahi tartare is great to share and munch. Warmed baguette bread and butter are always available. They have such good appetizers I think they even beat out the entrees. But I can say their steak and poulet/chicken frites are not bad too. I'm very glad they can do substitutions for the frites with roasted vegetables and got my poulet with green beans instead which still were a good pairing for the meat. Desserts are great too to share and finish your meal. Creme brûlée is standard in a lot of places and theirs hits the mark but I love Augie's Crepe Suzette more! A tangy orange based crepe topped with vanilla ice cream with bits of crispy orange bits throughout. I hope I come back again to try more dishes. A lovely spot in downtown.
