having been to Henrys quite often since they opened in Delray we choose Henrys for our dinner with friends, Much to our disappointment we were not happy. Our main course of salmon for two of us(party of 4) came out cold and had to be sent back. We requested more water at one point and never got a refill, Paying the check took an exceptionally long time and in general for a Monday evening when they were not that crowded the service was poor. Hope it was just an off night but not sure we will go back real soon. read more

Had a great dinner at Henry's with family last night! Definitely a must for anyone looking for upscale comfort food! High quality ingredients, comforting dishes, and excellent service. My husband and I split the Baby Iceberg Wedges salad - plenty large enough to share with a delicious blue cheese dressing. I had the Monday Daily Special - Southern Fried Chicken. Crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside, just what you are looking for in this classic dish. It comes with the most decadent macaroni and cheese, along with mashed potatoes, gravy, and cole slaw (which with so much food did not have room for, but my sister-in-law raved about). My husband had the Spaghetti and Chicken Meatballs with a lovely tomato mushroom sauce. Very tasty! The Chicken Meatballs gives this classic comfort dish a unique twist. Once again, I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area and hungry. You won't leave disappointed! read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR LUNCH OR WITH ANY TEENAGERS. IT IS NOT KID FRIENDLY. The atmosphere is a tightly compacted room with loud music. I didn't even get a waiter to come for drinks for the 10 minutes I was there. There is nothing on the menu for anyone who isn't on a strict diet. They have more salads on their menu then entrees. I just left Henry's after friends highly recommended it. It's South Florida and 90+ degrees. The AC wasnt working. No amount of good food can make up for a restaurant that doesnt tell its patrons the AC isn't working. What I would expect is for the hostess to let me know, as I walk in, that the AC is off and they are happy to accommodate me if I would like to stay. But no. Instead I sat, ordered drinks and appetizers before realizing that the AC is broke. I am giving two stars instead of one because the food was good and the server offered 20% off after we complained about the heat. Unfortunately, it will take a lot more than 20% off to have me back there. I would not recommend this eatery. read more

For starters, Henry is not the Chef - I understand he's a dog! But his restaurant is definitely not. Located in something of a strip mall, it doesn't look lik much from the outside. Walk inside on a busy night and the place has a buzz to it (which is my only complaint -- it is a noisy restaurant and makes normal conversation difficult on a crowded night). But the food is truly unique. They take something as mundane as Pot Roast to wonderous heights - tender and with a delectable wine reduction sauce. Service was above average and prices were verging on the high side, but worth it. Remember - go on a quiet night like Tuesday or Wednesday for a quiet meal. read more

Henry's is a nice restaurant with great service and nice atmosphere. I ordered a steak that was cooked well and tasted great. My companions dish was less than stellar. Crispy Duck was far from crispy. Not good. If the skin is not crisp, it tastes greasy and a bit gamy. The prices are high for what you get so I expect a little more. The desert was big and delicious. Went with friend what I thought would be a pleasant evening. It turned out to be just the opposite. I ordered a Panini, it was served to me burned. I refused it and was told another one would be there shortly. I waited 10 minutes and the second one came-- also burned! At this point I canceled the order, my fellow diners had already finished their meals .The waitress was snotty and just turned around. When the bill came she thru it in front of me and said I was not being charged for the Panini! WOW I never got to eat one! I complained to the manager who could care less. All in all a bad experience. I would not recommend the restaurant to anybody and I will never go back! read more

This is by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The service for such a pricey restaurant was terrible and that is being nice. What was appalling is that we had a reservation and were celebrating a joyous family occasion - there were 8 of us- and the hostess had the audacity to come over while we were eating desert to tell us to leave as we were holding up the table. This is absurd and I would NEVER and I mean NEVER return nor would I ever have a nice word to say about it. How this place stays in business is beyond me. I will start out with the positive - the food was very good. The negatives? Quite a few, I'm afraid. Our waitress, Debbie, was very pleasant when we first got there. We ordered within 5-10 minutes of sitting down, and we were all happy with the menu selections. The problems began after ordering. We waited and waited while table after table got served their food. I mean tables that came in before us, as well as tables that were seated long after ours. Our waitress didn't come by, check on us, nothing! We finally flagged her down, and when we asked about our food after almost 40 minutes, Debbie told us it was "coming right out." Another 5 minutes or so passed, and we flagged her down again. This time she said (repeatedly) that the ticket had gotten "lost" and offered us soup. Sounds nice, but after eating a basket of bread, the last thing we needed was to fill up on soup right before dinner. We passed on the soup, and then waited another 5 minutes or so. Thankfully, 3 of the 4 dinners were nice and hot, and everything was good for most of us. Mine was cold and my salmon had not been blackened, as I had ordered. When I told Debbie, she DID offer to take it back to get it seasoned, but I insisted that I was so hungry that I would just eat it as is. When I realized another part of my dinner was also cold and asked for a replacement of that item, she started berating me about the salmon. "Just give me the salmon too," she snapped at me several times, although I had already begun eating it. Finally I succumbed, passed it to her, and waited. I got back the exact same piece of fish (NOPE, not a fresh hot, properly seasoned piece of fish) and a new portion of the side dish. So, overall the food was very good, and believe it or not, we weren't even too irritated at this point. Then, we met the front manager, Cindy. RUDE! When she walked around checking on tables and we very nicely informed her about the very long wait and cold food, she literally said, "OK," and walked away. We were stunned! No apology (none from our waitress either, just a constant repeat of "Your ticket was lost."). We finished dinner and proceeded to pay... gave Debbie our charge cards once we got the check, and we got back a charge slip for some other customer. My friend waved down Cindy (the front manager), and Cindy ROLLED HER EYES, TILTED HER HEAD, AND WALKED UP TO US WITH REAL ATTITUDE! Seriously? When my friend explained about getting someone else's charge slip (did someone else have ours?), Cindy spoke rudely to us like we had a lot of nerve to even care. That tipped us over the edge. If this were just a review of the food, I would say, we all had very tasty meals - even though I got cold food! However, the dining experience goes beyond that, and that is where this restaurant failed. Debbie needs training on how to deal with these situations in a more proactive way. Stop passing the buck telling me over and over again that the ticket was lost. I know what that means - you didn't put the order in on time. But the manager? I don't think any amount of training will change her poor attitude and the disrespect she showed to us. My husband and I have had really good experiences at Henry's on different holidays, but I have to say that last night on the first night of Passover 2017, we arrived and were treated horribly from start to finish. We were given a reservation for 8:00pm for 7 people and were seated at 8:15pm at which time we were told that they were out of several items on the $40 per person pri fix menu. After each course that we were able to get, which included a piece of salmon so badly burned underneath that it arrived smelling of smoke, and one course with tiny little halves of a single piece of gefilte fish, the waitress would yell to us "everybody hand me your plates if you're done". Finally, she comes over with the check while we're still having dessert and asks us to pay because she had to cash out. When we were all staring at her she added, "well you know we close at 9:00". I'm not sure why we were given a reservation for 8:00 if that is the case. I really was so upset and embarrassed at the way were treated and the poor quality of food and service because we were hosting out of town guests and Henry's was our holiday restaurant until now. Clearly either this restaurant has changed chefs or management or is going out of business. read more

Until now we have been frequent patrons of this restaurant. We went on this evening for a prearranged Passover dinner, which is just a set menu with the addition of a plate of traditional items like horseradish, egg, bone. What I report here is the unanimous assessment of the 4 of us at the table. The chicken soup was watery; the lentil soup was good; the salmon was good; the brisket was mediocre and consisted of two small strips for those who ordered it; the rice-quinoa combination with the salmon had a scintilla (tiny bit) of quinoa; the apple strudel dessert was tasteless, because it was a diabetic/sugar-free version. The waiter was attentive and solicitous, but he was either unaware of what is going on in the kitchen or he thought we have no taste buds or intelligence. For example, he said the gefilte fish was homemade. We all know what the bottled/canned stuff tastes like and this was it! Next, he said there was a lot of quinoa in the rice mixture that came with the salmon. Quinoa is my favorite grain and I make it regularly so I know what it looks like. I just stared at him in disbelief. He then said the strudel was not sugar-free. We all know what real strudel tastes like -- and this was unquestionably sugar-free. (I suggested he taste it but he declined.) Overall, Henry's should be embarrassed at collecting $44/person (plus $2 upcharge for ice cream, needed to sweeten the strudel) for this meal, and while the waiter was superficially solicitous he plainly was either clueless or a prevaricator. The Rappaport folks need to devote a little attention to this restaurant. Only then would we or our friends come back. read more

Thought the food and service was good. Not exceptional, but good. But none of that matters when the hostesses are rude and obnoxious. They are the first people you meet when you walk in and once you have a bad experience with them the rest of the meal doesn't matter. This is consistently a problem at Henry's. A great night with an old friend was only enhanced by our menu choices chosen by the best server, Ilan. The locally made burratta and heirloom tomatoes to enjoy with our glasses of chardonnay were followed by an amazing branzino special and house favorite from their "Eat Well. Be Well." gluten free menu, their mojo marinated all natural chicken "chop" with sides of spinach and wild rice-quinoa pilaf. The warm chocolate "bomb" was placed on our table as a compliment. We were already comfortably full from our fabulous dinner, but, who could resist a bite of the "bomb?" The service was stellar, the cuisine was delectable and my company was the best. It was my top Henry's experience after years of dining at this popular Boca site. We had not eaten at Henry's in many years. But remember as good home style comfort food. The menu is updated and most dishes sound very good. The decor is the same which is ok but as we kept eating the lights kept being dimmed? We were a group of 4 and had split good salads too start, no drinks, and we all had an entree. One went back to re cook, another the short rib was tough but and had no sauce or gravy, my wife ate anyway. Mine was ok, special on fish, but vegetables were missing and had to have a separate plate come after my meal was finished. One other dish was fine out of 4 and then with some coaxing we ordered one desert, which with all the discomfort should have been treated to us but was not. Best part of service was my water glass was always full, better to be half full than half empty! Anyway with tax and tip it was $90 per couple for one entree, split salad and desert 4 ways! This was my first time there. I looked the menu up online and was excited to try a specific sandwich. By the way, we were going on a Saturday for lunch. When I got there and was seated, I was given a menu that didn't match the one I had seen online. One of my relatives who did the same thing was super disappointed since she has to eat gluten free and the menu we received was not GF friendly, except for 2 things. The Lunch menu online was very GF and was full of great options. Online I had looked at the Lunch menu, since we were going for lunch, but instead we were given a brunch menu and were saddened to see the poor options. I feel like the options they had were small portions for the price and food I can get anywhere for half the price. I am sure when they do serve lunch and dinner the food is amazing. It is a real shame that this happened. I mentioned to the woman (older lady) who was hosting about how the website didn't mention they only serve Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and how it was misleading and I was disappointed. She gave me a huge attitude and I told her that I am only 1 person and that I am positive their restaurant will continue to thrive, but they have lost my service. She said she didn't really care and I walked out. They didn't even have the ingredients to make what I wanted. The portions were tiny and the lettuce was old and brown, everyone's lettuce was. So maybe I am missing out on a true lunch and dinner there, but her attitude was enough to keep me out for good. read more

Had lunch with friends and was so nice to sit out side. Our waiter (I believe was Scott) was terrific and very attentive. I had the Portabella Melt and it was an OMG..the best!! The others raved about their food as well and the lunch prices are very reasonable. The manager came around and asked how our lunch was...I think she over heard the grones we were making because the food was so good. I noticed how she pitched in and helped the servers clear tables, etc. Everyone seemed to work hard with big smiles. Oh yeah, the desserts are amazing....large enough for sharing. We have been to this restaurant several times and been very pleased. We thought everything was terrific with the exception of the Sunday night special, chicken pot pie, which was just good. The shrimp and lobster flatbread is one of the very best appetizers we've ever had. We enjoyed our several visits dining on the patio. One evening was cool but the heaters are very efficient along with the roll down walls, keeping us perfectly comfortable. Our attentive waiter, Ilan, did everything possible to make the experience wonderful. His suggestions were right on and he checked several times, without being intrusive, to be sure we were happy. Personally, I would not go back. I think the food is grossly overpriced, and the flavor was bland, almost tasteless to give a better perspective. Was there for a Fathers Day/Birthday dinner and was simply not impressed. Could not get a refill of drink (beer), ran out of water and refills never came. Waiter did not stay long enough to even ask for a refill. another guest at my table did ask for more water and that never came. Waiter did not ask how the food was, but told us the food is excellent before running off. Had the Pot Pie (Sunday special). Looked very nice but frankly, had no taste. Pepper helped slightly, but still was more disappointing then the ones you purchase for $2.50 in the freezer section of wal mart. Read a lot of good reviews about this place and was eager to try it but cannot see any logical reason to go back. The waiter said at the end he had never seen anyone finish the pot pie before. Not sure if this is because the restaurant caters to an older crowd or he was insinuating I was a pig. Truth be known, I did not want to take it home. another guest in my party (2 actually) had salmon. one loved it and the other took it home and was given to the dog. Not going to say this is a bad place to eat, if you like poor service and bland food you will feel right at home. My understanding is the name Henrys is named after the owners dog. Seems pretty fitting as the bland food and mediocre presentation of most of the plates seemed to fit that bill. Just an honest review. Increased to (2) stars because they responded back. read more

There were six of us ( 3 couples) who dined out last night. The place was full, all tables taken, people waiting to be seated and our waitress, "Kaye" ( from Poland) was so attentive and pleasant with all that was going on, that I had to marvel at her patience and understanding in answering all of our questions about the selections we were to make. Each of us selected different entrees from the menu. When the dishes arrived, each dish, was carefully and artfully prepared and arranged, which, as you know makes each of the meals that more tasteful with each bite taken. This became evident by the clean dishes when they were eventually removed. Excellent - all dishes, and I haven't said that about restaurant food in quite a while and the service by Kaye, added to that great evening. read more

We have been to Henry's many times, this was the first visit that was really a disappointment. However, enough of a disappointment to possibly cause pause for a return visit. First, they stuck us in a table in the rear that was slanted at an angle compared to nearby tables ... clearly added to the "normal" dining room to accommodate extra people for Christmas. But it wasn't like I made the reservation at the last minute and expressed my displeasure to the hostess to no avail. The food also took an abnormally long time to appear at the table ... much too long approx 45 minutes. I ordered the rack of lamb special ($34). The veges and mashed potatos that came with it were very good. But the lamb quality was a serious disappointment - can't remember the last time I had lamb this bad and fatty. When I brought it to the waiter's attn, he shrugged his shoulders ... there was no offer to take it back or get me something else. For a $34 entree, disappointing. We also brought to his attention that we were getting a draft from the A/C ... to which he also shrugged his shoulders not offering to do anything ... and I had to get up and walk over to the maitre D to have something done about it. Looking for something positive to say ... my Caesar salad was pretty good. But Henry's was a disappointment. read more

The food was great but the noise level INSIDE is horrible. We were seated near the kitchen but despite that, conversations were loud and was a challenge to hear the person sitting opposite you. Our waiter was good, not great, but managed to do an acceptable job. We'll return during the season when we can sit outside in a more quiet atmosphere. Had a reservation for dinner tonight. Arrived and we were told inside only although we requested outside. They had a party of 12 that needed the tables. We agree to inside. Our waiter comes over and informs us that there are only a few chicken pot pies left. The reason we went as I'm sick and don't really have an appetite was for the pot pie. I immediately order my dinner only to have the waiter inform us that the party of 12 reserved the pot pies. I was then told I should have reserved one when I made my reservation. I've never heard of ordering my food when I reserve a table. Of course they're solution was to ask the party of 12 if I could have one of their pies. We said no. Asked for bill for the 2 drinks we ordered and didn't drink. They brought the bill (shouldn't have been one). We paid it and left. So unprofessional. We will never again support a Rappaport restaurant. read more
