I frequently order from here and really enjoy the food, but on multiple occasions they have ran out of food and that is super annoying. The annoying this i tired ordering online in their system is down and recommends we order live in the store. If you know you've ran out of food why don't you put a sign up online saying that so people don't waste the time drove 25mins each time. Operationally this place has a ways to go. On top of that the girl taking the order doesn't apologize and just let saying the same thing in slightly rude manner. Very short staffed, bad customer service. Even though I had paid at the restaurant, yet my order was lost and had to wait more than 1 hour before they can find my order. A Pathetic Experience: I went to dine in @ Chi Tea and there was no space later few people left and few tables were available with all their food debris in around the table I asked the person at the counter to get that cleaned he said: "We have self service we provide wipes to clean." This was strange to me as no matter where we go for dining the least we can expect is clear hygienic table. teh emnagement ensures every new customer gets clean hygienic environment for dining asking them to clean others stuff is rude. Dear CHI Tea Management. You cannot expect customers to come and clean your tables. Next when I asked the person at counter to cut the burgers in halves he said we have plastic knives again a strange thing we have been dining out and no matter where we go if we make some request usually the restaurants honors it. Especially when you have kids whom you know cant finish the whole burger if you ask them the restaurants do that. the food is also average and doing the business with average food with this attitude is an unaccpetable behavior. read more

I have never in my life been so disgusted with a food item that I had to throw it out unfinished. Unfortunately, that was the case here. My girlfriend works in this area and always saw this place packed with lines out the door. We assumed that was a good sign and dropped in for bubble tea. The first red flag should have been their odd menu options of "blended" or "over ice", neither of which turned out to be the expected standard beverage from other bubble tea shops. My "over ice" lychee tea turned out to be some kind of odd milk tea concoction that tasted like a flavor packet had been put in. I am lactose intolerant so I really didn't appreciate being handed a milk tea when that's something that's either noted on the menu or an option. My girlfriend got a peach "blended" tea, which I guess was supposed to be some sort of smoothie? It. Was. Foul. Tasted like a chemical. We threw her drink away after only a few sips. I managed about half of mine before I tossed it. Absolutely disgusting. Will not return. read more

The big bird chicken sandwich is amazing, a friend told me they would travel to Illinois just for the sandwich alone. A lot of boba places serve hard tapioca pearls but theirs is soft. Great flavors, wish Thai coconut was still available. Taro is a favorite. Pass on the seasoned fries. The chi classic burger is good too, but I prefer the spicier chicken sandwich. read more

I got the tiger sugar milk tea over ice and the spicy big bird. The milk tea was good but there was no ice. I think they forgot to put some because it was lukewarm and it wasn't because I came late, I came less than 5 minutes after they texted me my order was ready. The big bird was excellent. Terrible customer service. We waited in line for 2.5 hours to support a new business. They ran out of food right when we got to the door. They should have managed the situation better by 1) warning customers ahead of time that they were nearing the end of their food supply 2) offering SOMETHING besides 25% off their bubble tea??? We were super excited to try this place, and showed up an hour before they closed. As we walked up to stand in the line, the owners stopped and said that they cut the line off. We were confused cause we showed up well before the store was suppose to close. They then tried to explain they haven't even established their hours yet, and that next time we should "show up on time"... not really sure how 2 more people would put them out of business for the night. I hate leaving bad reviews for businesses. If I've had one bad experience I usually go back and give them another chance. But ..... Ive been here three time. Got soggy boba all three times. Sadly they're the only boba place around here. The first two times I thought maybe it was an off day. But after the third time, I realized that this may just be how they make their boba. I wanted to like this place because the drinks are decent. But the nice girl at the cash register who was couldn't wait to go back on her cell phone did not really pay attention and got my drink wrong. Orders a milk tea over ice, received a blended milk tea. I'm not a picky person so I drank it anyway.... It did not taste good, on top of that I had many ice chunks in my drink. I'm beyond disappointed. Poor customer service. I treated my brother and his friends and they forgot both a burger and a drink. I realized the drink was missing and they made it while I waited. After going home, we realized one of the burgers was also missing. They had already closed so I told them when we ordered from them two days later. They refused to reimburse us or make up for the burger saying "ask the person who picked up the order to come and get it". When my brother was visiting us again a few weeks later and went in for a drink and told them about the missing order, they said "it's too late now, you should have come sooner". In spite of giving the reasons for not coming in sooner, they did not offer the burger, a reimbursement or an apology. Terrible attitude, unprofessional staff and manager. read more

This is not it. Really thought this place was going to be a good bubble tea joint but it's not. Came here one day with my boyfriend, first we waited outside in line and I understood that because of COVID. Once we got to the front of the line we assumed we could come in but once we opened the door they asked us to wait outside so we did. After already waiting outside for awhile, we get inside and the girl before us wanted to take a picture and we literally had to stand there and wait for her to finish taking her picture so that we could order. I have no problem with that but they could've took our order instead of making us wait there. Then to top it off we finally get to place our order and they have NO TAPIOCA. How do you own a bubble tea joint but don't have any tapioca, that's literally the whole reason why I came there. This was the cherry on top for me. Never going here again. You're better off going to Coffee Haus or Bobar, seriously don't waste your time here. As for the bubble tea, it was nothing special tasted like all the joints I've been to. You guys should stock up and let people know in advance that you don't have any tapioca instead of making them wait out there. Read about this place having one of the best chicken sandwiches in the Chicago area. My buddy is a chicken sandwich fiend, so it didn't take much to prompt him to go with me. It' was carry-out only at the time, which is fine, but it's not a quickie-order-and-go place. It's cooked-to-order, so there's a little wait, but that's fine. The large chicken itself is excellent - tender & juicy with a nice coating that is neither too crispy or thick, but stays on the chicken throughout the eating. Fresh, homemade pickles give a nice saltiness, while the spicy aioli gives a slightly hot tang. The only suggestion I would make to the owners would be a slightly-better bun. The one they use is nice, but doesn't seem to hold up; both of ours were falling apart towards the end of the eating. The only other question about getting this sandwich again is the price = $8.99. For that I could get two excellent Popeye's chicken sandwiches. read more

We tried chi-tea for the first time last Sunday (03-14-2021), we loved their stawberry-mango shake with boba so so much that we told all our friends to try it..we went back there on Tuesday (03-16-2021) and got ourselves two large milk shakes in the same flavor....this time it was chunky and it tasted disgusting..it was so bad that I was unable to take another sip..there are definitely some inconsistencies in their procedures that they should probably work on. I have tried their chicken sandwich and love it. Crispy outer and spicy chicken. Makes my nose run a little bit but that's how I know it's good. Sometimes the sandwich falls apart but that's ok. Worth the taste. I go there often.
