I tried Chi Thai in the past after someone suggested it and I was less than impressed. We were looking for something open on Christmas night and decided to give it another shot. It was worse this time around. The fried rice was just mush, inedible mush, the egg rolls were equally soggy and the General Tso's was nothing more than deep fried fat pieces doused in sauce. For the price I paid (comparable to PF Chang's) I would expect much better quality. If you are wanting an excellent high quality Chinese go around the corner to Asian Gourmet. Very nice atmosphere. Waiters and waitresses are very nice and beautiful interior. Although , food does not taste as pleasant as I hoped. I ordered the pad lad nar and yellow curry. We ordered the pad lad nar and the yellow curry. We had the crab Rangoon for an appetizer. The staff was super friendly and really nice, we never went a minute without our drinks topped off! Overall the food was OK. The noodles in the pad lad nar was over cooked, and it seemed overly sweet. The yellow curry was actually really good! It was just disappointing that the green beans were so overcooked they were chewy! Overall a good experience, but definitely not worth the $40+ we spent. The crab Rangoon was pretty good, I liked that a thicker wrapping was used so it evened out the crab/cream cheese. That is expected though, what can go wrong when you deep fry stuff! read more

Pan fried noodles!!! Yum...it has become one of my favorites! Don't let the outside fool you, once you're inside its large and really nice. I frequent this place often and have never been disappointed, food was always hot and excellent and service is always top notch. Maybe I can understand the negative reviews on their pad Thai because my wife had it once and said it was nothing exceptional. Probably one of the very few dishes they don't do well, I have never ordered it so I can't comment. Pad Lad Nar and house combination are my favorite dishes here. I would not hesitate to try this place if you have never visited, with the overall lack of Thai restaurants in Cbus I think this one is one of the better bets to go with. Chi Thai is easily the best Thai food in town. Every time I come in the staff is welcoming and we are seated immediately. The menu has a large selection but the staff had great knowledge of the dishes and make great recommendations - my favorites are the lettuce wraps and black pepper steak. The owner is very friendly and always checks in to make sure the food came out promptly and cooked to order. It's a great restaurant for a large party or a quick lunch. Ordered fried rice, tom yum soup and green curry . Fried rice was amazing but the rest were somewhat disappointing. I have never seen a greenest curry in my life. Excellent chicken curry , they can make it as mild or as hot as you like , it taste a little bit like coconut sauce but it's chili based and super for pick up. The egg rolls are yummy too. read more

Excellent service but I would not recommend the drunken noodles. A favorite dish of mine, here it was just sub par. Was deeply disappointed in the food here, especially after seeing mostly good reviews. Did I eat at the same place? Orange peel in my orange chicken was totally burnt to a crisp which made the whole dish taste bitter and burnt. The chicken was so soggy on the outside the breading just slid off when I bit into it, but somehow was chewy and overcooked on the inside. I've eaten at Chi Thai probably 5 times over the last few years. Yesterday was my last. My husband and I stopped in mid afternoon on our way to Easton shopping. We were both famished. It was not busy inside and an Asian woman named Kieu seated and waited on us. On previous occasions I've seen a man, who's always very nice, and a younger girl who's also very polite. Today's waitress Kieu was not. This woman seemed to take an instant dislike to us. She was not friendly at all, seemed rushed & irritated rather than accommodating and even chided my husband when the sizzling rice soup I ordered I specified was only for me. She actually squatted to his seated level and taunted something about "she's not sharing with you". She wasn't being funny either, it was absurd! In reality, my husband is vegan and wouldn't eat the soup which contains meat and shrimp. That was not the worst of it because after a few bites of my favorite soup, I spooned up a bite which contained a narly, long hair. Gag! We held the spoon mid-air until Kieu came over. She said "I'll have them make you another." No, no thanks. She repeated. I declined again. "What else do you want?" she asked repeatedly while hastily clearing away the soup, making me feel like I had to order something. I really couldn't think of anything so I said egg roll. I had already ordered dumplings (which were hard and dry). It took quite a while for that single egg roll to come out (surprisingly) & it was pretty mushy inside. I only ate a few bites. My husband had ordered a vegetable dish with steamed rice in brown sauce and to be fair, his dish was good. Between the two of us we ate all of it. She brought the bill, mumbled something about taking the soup off and rushed away. Oh gee thank you. She did charge us for the egg roll she made me feel obligated to order lol, along with the rest of our meal. It was a very disappointing visit. I'm upset that our waitress didn't seem apologetic, or accommodating, or kind in any way, from start to finish. After reading through some of the other reviews today, I see that many people have experienced food poisoning and rotten seafood from this kitchen. Seriously? Another stated a cockroach ran across their table. That, is disgusting! It seems a trend that quality control is not a priority here, which is unfortunate because the front of the house has a cozy, classy feel to it. I am shocked by some of the negative reviews here. I think this place is a total hidden gem. It is in a dinky strip mall, which is really deceiving because inside, it's actually a very nice, sit-down Asian restaraunt. The food is pricier than your little take-out place, but for good reason. The atmosphere is very warm and sort of upscale and the food is great, classic Thai and Chinese food. Though the inside is what makes this place great and worth the slightly higher prices, it is really good for take out as well. read more

Just visited for lunch today. I ordered Pad Thai (take-out). The food was really good. I was disappointed with two things: 1 - the portion size was very small compared with the price. I really enjoy Pei Wei's Pad Thai even though it's not traditional it tastes great and they give you a lot of food. Comparably, Chi Thai's portion size was 1/2 of Pei Wei's! 2 - By the time I got back to the office ~10-15 minutes, the peanuts had soaked up a lot of steam which gave them a terrible texture. read more
